Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

I don't know if the multiverse can do, like, TWO Lokis. Shit. Then again, i would have thought that two Tony Starks was too many.

More weird than finding out there are multiple universes with multiple versions of myself? [He shakes his head.] Is that where the outlandish tales come from?

You have met multiple Starks? I pity you. I can only hope they were all too distracted by each other to annoy everyone else.

Only the one Stark, but I know there are more of him out there.

[Finally, someone who GETS his opinion of Stark. And the fact that he's agreeing with Loki should be a warning sign.]

Given his raging narcissism, I expect they would be.

What about you. What you done in your world to get on his bad side to be so annoyed with him?

The first time we met, he shot me. We have since moved to using words as our weapons, but the animosity remains. I believe he also holds a grudge against me for prioritizing the safety of Midgard over his life.

Did you deserve to be shot? Serious question.

Also, what do you consider the safety of Earth?

No. And if he had succeeded in incapacitating me, he would have ruined his own allies' plans and left Midgard at the mercy of the general Thanos sent to take my place.

He had volunteered to risk his life in an attempt to disable an invading army. He had succeeded, but we on Midgard could not know whether the army was permanently disabled or if they could reactivate. I advocated for closing the portal and ensuring it could not happen, but Agent Romanoff insisted on keeping the portal open until Stark had returned.

You worked for Thanos?

[The boy is snarling. He LIVES on Earth, and he HATES Thanos.]

You're a horrible person if you were working with him.

[Loki's snarling right back.]

He tortured me and sent me to Midgard to retrieve an infinity stone for him, and he played with my mind in an attempt to further control me. And despite all that I turned against him as soon as I was out of his reach. I ensured that the army he granted me was destroyed and the infinity stones moved out of his reach so he could not attempt to send another in my place. And since then all I have done has been to keep him from gaining what he desires. I have accepted exile from my only home so that it would not be a target for his wrath! Do not think to hold me responsible for what he tried to make me do!

[Yeah, that's definitely a way Loki would TOTALLY twist things.]

And how do you expect me to prove it? You clearly will not trust my word, and that is all that I have available, until the monster himself comes to punish me.

I mean, I guess I'd have to find someone from your world to verify?

And until that comes about, you will assume that I am a monster who willingly worked for Thanos rather than his enemy? [Loki gives a tight, mirthless smile.]

Would you be reassured that my hatred of him is genuine were I to share what intelligence I have of his forces and plans and my plans to counter him?

Yeah. I think I would.

Then I will gladly provide it. [He is used to giving it out and he has a record of everything he's passed along to Thor.]

[Woah, really? Strange.]

Okay. Just checking, did part of those plans include ruling Earth yourself?

[Shrewd, kid. Loki pauses before answering, weighting each word heavily.]

Yes. That was the reward he offered me in return for my service. He presented it as an opportunity for mutual benefit, as if I had not spent a year at his mercy and would suffer more should I have refused.

[He takes in a deep breath. He doesn't like thinking about that time or how close he came to giving in.]

But I was uninterested in conquering and ruling Midgard and saw more benefit in allying with them against him.

That's either a sign that you're a really different Loki, or that you're lying to me. I'm gonna give you the benefit of a hella lot of doubt.

[Loki gives a low, bitter laugh.]

Even that little is more than some who have called me kin would grant me. Is it so unbelievable that I would not wish to rule, that I would find other ways to prove my worth?

Can't hold your actions against you when you haven't harmed me and mine I guess? And you already sound better than our Loki, even if he did travel with Billy some. So if you're trying to do good, then you're trying to do good. But humanity doesn't want ruled by another.

I did take that into consideration, of course. And I would much prefer that Midgard's might be joined with mine to fight Thanos rather than wasted fighting me.

I mean, you're not wrong. Earth is fucking useful.

[The corner of Loki's lip quirks upward.]

As I discovered, and helped them demonstrate to the wider universe. I make sure that the tale of how they defeated an invading army with no loss of life to them is spread far and wide.

Was there really no loss?

None. [And he seems pretty proud to say it.] Not even the six heroes who went to face the army alone. Not even Stark, who volunteered to venture through the portal into unknown space to disable the army at the source.
