Summer Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

A second one comes along and gets into the same hissing kind of posture as the first bug. Cloud takes another step back while watching them closely. Are they going to make the first move?
"Are you going to bark at me all day or are you going to start biting? What fancy moves do you bugs got? Am I going to be working up a sweat?" He raises an eyebrow. He hasn't even started fighting and he's cocky already by them trying to be intimidating. Cloud's not going to make the first move yet, he needed to know just how threatening they were going to be. He was not armed at all so he's taking a risk just to fight bugs if he needs. The monsters from his world would have already been on him. Are these monsters going to do same?

He's tall, wearing a rather heavy looking set of mail- and leather-armor and both bugs instantly lower their postures, ceasing any behavior meant to be intimidating.
"Now what am I going to do with you..." Nathanos contemplates aloud and crosses his arms while glowing eyes scrutinize the young man.

It's not really that strange or surprising to him. If anything he's wondering if the undead had always been here or was like the rest of them, kidnapped by the Agrii and brought here to help.
"I don't know. Why don't you tell me?" Cloud puts a hand on his hip and with the other hand he makes an open hand gesture.

“How about I just kill you? That’s always an option. Even though you don’t strike me as Alliance.” But does it really matter? Hardly. On the other hand it might be foolish to simply murder this one. There aren’t many people in this city after all. Nathanos has already confirmed as much.
“Tell me who you are. And why I should spare you.”

"Alliance? There's no organization or group that goes by that here." He tilts his head wondering if that will hold any meaning for others from his world that might come here. Cloud loosely crosses his arms against his chest.
"Cloud Strife. I was brought to this planet by the Agrii. Assessing the situation isn't always a bad thing." He could easily fight if needed but he knew it would be unwise without a weapon. Cloud could get overpowered by three. Numbers were against him but he's been out numbered before. Fleeing would be the best option in this case. "And you are?"

The bugs make not much of a move at the moment aside from a few clicking noises and scuttling a little in place.
Nathanos makes a short noise of acknowledgement for the answer before responding himself. "Nathanos Blightcaller. And it appears I get to claim this territory in the name of the Horde." If the past is anything to go by, this place will be swarming with so-called heroes from both Horde and Alliance soon enough. Curious to find that he is getting a head-start in this area. Maybe some Alliance fool has been dropped off on the other side of... Whatever this place is.

Cloud watches the bugs while keeping to their sounds. His senses would stay sharp as he focuses back on Nathanos. "Nathanos Blightcaller of the Horde?" Did he hear that right? He frowns while shaking his head at this claiming territory. Cloud stays where he is not coming close or making any move to flee. He keeps his eyes on Nathanos while waiting to see what the other might do or say next.

"Now who is in charge of this pitiful place?"
no subject
"If you suddenly try to claim leadership I'll be walking away." Since he'll have enough of this conversation at that point. Cloud already feels the need to be evasive. "We all have our own shit to deal with. What do you plan on doing?"
no subject
"I see no one doing any of this rebuilding you mention. How many people are there supposed to be here?" So far he has been looking around in some places, but hasn't encountered much worth of note.
no subject
He sighs while looking at the Forsaken. "Some people are trying to figure out what building is what before putting in the work. I only know twelve names but there's more people than that here. I don't know where you're getting supposed to be."
