Summer Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

[And Keith was continuing to be impressed by Lance's skills as a farmer? Like, where did those come from (other than the data point)? But he nodded.]
The beach is pretty cool. It's black sand, but it's actually kind of relaxing, too. And Lance has gotten really good at fishing there. [Then again, Lance grew up on an island. Keith really should not be surprised about the fishing thing.]
no subject
[Even if it meant doing that weird data port thing... Well, he'd done weirder in his life]
Really? I've heard about black sand beaches, but I've never seen one.

[Keith knew he could always count on Shiro. He gave him a relieved smile, and then nodded.]
Yeah, same. It's kind of weird to get used to, but it does look kinda neat. I can take you over there if you want.
[Absently, Keith reached down to scratch a random itch on his leg, causing a silver chain with a ring on it to slip loose from his collar and hang freely out in the open from his neck instead of tucked away. If Shiro had already run into Lance since arriving, he might notice that the ring matched one that Lance was likely wearing on his left ring finger... except, instead of a blue stone, this one was red.]
no subject
Yeah, I'd imagine, but it's really just what the sand is made out of that makes the color different.
[He's a nerd, Keith. Sorry.
But as Keith leaned over, he definitely caught a glimpse of that ring as it swung out from inside his shirt]
That's a quite a ring.
no subject
But, oh... right. The ring. Keith actually blushed as he brought his hand up to hold on to it. It was obvious then why he was wearing it on a chain. He had his gloves on, and that made it hard to wear a ring.]
Uh, yeah... it is.
I um... so, right. Remember how I said time is weird here, and that Lance and I have actually been here a lot longer?
no subject
At the question, he nodded]
Yeah, I remember.

Thanks.
[He rubbed the back of his neck.]
We've been together a while, actually. But... not back home. It sounds weird, but we don't remember anything about this place when we've been home. Which is frustrating, honestly, but we've been together here since before I left for the Blades.
[Which might be weird for Shiro, considering Lance had been dating Allura back home up until... well... Keith didn't know about all that...]

[If they made each other happy, he wasn't going to say anything else about it]
no subject
Thanks. It means a lot.
[Really. Shiro's approval on anything was majorly important to Keith, so having his support even in something like a relationship was honestly a huge comfort.]
no subject
So have you set a date yet for the wedding?
[He was just glad that somehow in all this weirdness, he got to be here for Keith and Lance's wedding]
no subject
It's probably gonna be something kind of last minute. This place is weird with how things happen. So, I think... we might just wait for a lull and give everyone a few days notice for a party or something. I know Lance will probably want something big, but I'm not sure how much of a big fancy wedding we could pull off right now.

[He reached over to put his hand Keith's shoulder. He would definitely do everything he could to help]
no subject
[That familiar shoulder touch, though... Keith smiled back up at his friend... brother. They really were like brothers, and Keith loved Shiro. He'd gone from having a very lonely childhood, though not entirely unhappy while his dad was alive, to finally having the family he wanted and needed. He was grateful to have met everyone, and Shiro most of all.]
I really appreciate that. In a way, I'm glad you're here because I wouldn't want to have a wedding without you involved. [He brought his own hand up to grip the forearm of the hand on his shoulder.] You're my brother. I want you there.
no subject
I would hope that you wouldn't have your wedding without me involved if you had the option. [He said this with a teasing smile. He glanced down at Keith's hand as he put it on his arm] You're my brother as well. I'm glad that I can be here for you.
no subject
Thanks.
