[EVENT] The Rescue: Day Four (THE END!)

Welcome to the end of The Rescue event!

You've made it to
DAY 4

Your time runs out and the ships, as promised, explode early in what would be the morning. All considered, it is a small thing that rocks the Agrii ship almost not at all and no debris is left behind. It’s as though they imploded and turned into small black holes that sucked up everything left over. It was as though they’d never been there at all.

On your ship, the Agrii are slowly awakening and starting to take notice of you and your fellow ‘He-Rows’. Unlike Ga Re, their English is awful but you can at least understand that they are thrilled to have you here. Some of them even already have favorites among the He-Rows and will race to them for awkward hugs (that are very carefully done with only two arms around the shoulders. They have been practicing). The Graq are calm now as well, but hardly as pleased by what is going on. Ga Re comes out and somehow gets them settled and ready to go back to their planet in the extra shuttles. And as for you? Well, she has ideas about that, too.

As thanks for saving them, she decides to bring the He-Rows into the room she’d been locked in before. Inside there is the technology that is used to bring people to Agra 10 and, likely, sends people home as well. Ga Re doesn’t understand all of it but she knows the He-Rows might. She promises as she takes you there that you can use the portals to go anywhere you like. Even home, if you desire.

But when you get to the room, the singing core is GONE.

The engineering room is now alive and buzzing with an energy that hadn’t been there before. It's a completely different feeling and is much more technological and electric than it had been when you were last here. The buttons are still blinking on and off but there are also levers and panels that hadn’t been there before. It looks like an active place where things are happening. Ga Re, baffled, has no idea what is going on and is about to panic when over the announcement system, a voice is heard:

‘Congratulations, everyone. You have done well. We are pleased with your efforts and with all the decisions you have made. Very entertaining.

Unfortunately, however, we cannot allow you to be rewarded as Ga Re desires. There is still far too much planned for you to go home just yet, so we are going to be holding onto the core for the foreseeable future. But don’t worry. You can still go home:

Back to Agra 10.

This ship now has a power core that will allow it to travel. Any pilot will be able to fly it. Make sure you all get back in a timely fashion. Much to do. Much to see. For us, at least.

Congratulations again, “Heroes.” ’

The voice cuts out. There is no way to trace where it came from and no name given but you might have suspicions. For now, those suspicions are all you have to go on.

Ga Re, heartbroken, can now no longer send you home as she planned. She vows to take you back to Agra 10 and to give you something proper to thank you with once she has some time to work on it. But in the meantime, there are still things you all can do:

The Graq need to go home. This trip can be made in any shuttle, including the normal ones you flew here from Agra 10. Their planet is nearby and a lush, forest world open for exploration. The Graq live in elaborate tree villages that all are made by using their spit to more or less meld stones to the trees. The stones are strange and foreign to you; when melted with the Graq spit, they become malleable for a short amount of time and then harden up stronger than before. They use this material to make crafts and tools, including knives and arrows. Once on their planet, they will be more than willing to trade with you for these goods or to spit on some stone so you can make your own.

On their planet you can also go hunting for food. There are some wild beasts that look like enormous boar and taste like them, too! Who’s missed bacon? There are also birds about the size of a car that actually taste like poultry and tiny little monkey-like things that don’t have much meat on them, but what they do have tastes like beef! Who’s missed those flavors? Stock up if you want to! Or, if you want to go the vegetarian route, you’re in luck. Any agriculture specialists are going to be thrilled to learn that the Graq have tons of plants you can bring home. Stalks that taste like buttered corn, beans of all kinds, fruits both familiar and new, and more vegetables and herbs than you will know what to do with. If you want it, it’s probably here. It’s just a matter of getting the seeds.

If none of that appeals to you then there is always exploring. The Graq have a giant waterfall you can journey to and lakes to swim in. They have trees and mountain-faces to climb and get a better look at the surrounding areas. There are even a few caves if you feel bold. The Graq will warn you, however, that there is a ‘Jupplo’ in those caves. What’s a Jupplo? As far as you can figure out, it’s the giant worm that made the cave originally. If you go deep enough you’ll walk right into their mouths and be swallowed whole if you’re not careful or can’t fight your way out. That’s the story, at least. Probably just a myth. Right?

Or maybe you’ve really had enough of this, and you want to go back to Agra 10 right away. There’s no place like home, right? There are still repairs to make after the storm and lives to get back to there. You can absolutely take a shuttle and do so. You have the option of stopping on the outpost planets you passed on the way here and taking a break or topping off your supplies if you like. If no pilots want to return with you, you can still have one use the autopilot to chart a course home for you.

Ga Re will be taking the larger Agrii ship back to Agra 10 as promised, but it will take time. The larger ship is slow and can’t use the same portal you brought the smaller shuttles through to reach it so quickly. But that’s okay. If you opt to stay on board the Agrii ship, there’s still plenty to do.

You now have data and videos that you got from the Agrii ship that you can look over or share with others. Maybe start talking about everything you’ve seen and what it all might signify. Maybe start plotting next steps? Or how to treat the Agrii now that you’ve learned more about them? Or discuss the sleeping friends you found with the Agrii who have yet to wake up? If you’re really nice, maybe you even want to try and fix up your fellow heroes? Probably won’t do anything, but it’s nice to try. Or maybe you just need a break from all of this and want to relax in some hot springs or in your own room. No one could blame you. Put up your feet and just relax while you can. You earned it.

You could also take your shuttle back to the outpost planets. Nothing like a pitstop, right? You can always just wait on the outpost planets for the Agrii ship to catch up and hook back up with them then.

Those who stay on the ship can also help Ga Re figure out what’s happened to the Agrii ship. There is a new core that they don’t understand and all of these levers and buttons they’ve never touched before. Time to play around and see what does what? Just don’t press the big red one. That is probably universally a bad button.

You can also at this point visit any area of the ship that you haven’t, yet. Go look at Agrii rooms or the medical bay or the mess hall you haven’t seen yet. What do the Agrii eat? Well. What you all eat….just wrong. Try an ‘apple’ that looks perfect but for some reason tastes like ice tea. Or maybe you want a ‘hamburger’ that tastes like PB and J. Actually all sandwiches are PB and J no matter what they look like. The food here is weird, man. But at least it isn’t gel!

The options are all yours. This is finally time to explore and do everything you want. Enjoy!

OOC INFO AND FAQ

How long will all this take? How long do we have to rest?

This “event” (or, really, lull between events) will take at least a few weeks. We don’t have a specific end date to tell you yet, but we’ll give you ample warning when the next event is coming. For now, though, you’ll have several weeks to rest, relax, and make your way back to Agra 10 as quickly or as slowly as you want. Thanks to ~timey wimey~ physics, everyone will make it to wherever they need to be for the next event by the time it starts. Amazing!

What if I want to do multiple things?

That’s totally fine! There are plenty of shuttles and plenty of pilots who can program them if you don’t have someone to come with you. So you can take your time on a given planet or travel between several, coming and going from the Agrii ship (or never returning to it at all) as you like. For example, anyone who takes a shuttle to the Graq planet can use it to catch up to the Agrii ship or just take it straight back to Agra 10. It’s totally up to you!

We do encourage you to travel with friends, though, because it’s probably kind of boring, sitting in a shuttle all by yourself for a couple weeks… Unless that’s what you really, really want.

(And again, don’t worry about timing. Everyone will definitely be where they’re needed when the next event starts. But maybe consider not staying on the Graq planet for two months. The natives might start getting restless.)

Can I make up some other stuff?

YES! This is loose so you can really decompress from the event and have fun with your characters. If you want approval for anything that you think is BIG, feel free to ask but otherwise go and have fun. Make whatever plants you want or new animals or anything. This is very open for a good break event.

Can I find out about what could have happened in other decisions?

Sure! Ask any questions you want!

Did we win?

You guys did GREAT! Like really. You came close to a few dangers but on the whole, you got everything that was possible from the event. Good job!

Buddy, no.
You grin and bear it, and when they're alone later, you quietly send them out the airlock.

Can ships still be upgraded/worked on if they aren't all taken out somewhere/immediately/return after partying with the Ewoks Graq?

Okay. First of all: Can characters switch their expertise on the Agrii ship because they made a mistake and just want nothing to do with that any longer? XD

But more importantlyyyyyy...... Jon wants to talk to the Agrii. Can he talk to the Agrii? He also doesn't think the Agrii should be bound to speak English- Please speak your Agrii language and let him record that. Give him some written samples, an Agrii grammar book and dictionary and just answer his bajillion questions!

Oh yeah! Would the 'hero control' room still be accessible - or rather would the Agrii let people in there now that they're back?

A new one.

The Agrii ship has a medbay, so is it right to assume there is also some sort of chemical lab?

So, Tony and Tommy have come up with the absolutely dreadful idea that the Agrii ship shouldn't be able to navigate as well as it does, and so it's not actually the Agrii computers navigating the ship. So they're trying to see if maybe there is some processing unit of a different sort of alien tech on the ship as if some other race, along the lines of atroma, are manipulating things but the Agrii aren't smart enough to notice it.

I figure the answer is a NO they can't prove it. But if Tommy searches the Green Room with all of his Agrii Agriculture data-point knowledge, he won't run into anything there tech wise that is out of place, right?

Seriously though, if a character at the end of this was just like 'frick this, the agrii and returning to agra 10, and wanted to stop on one of the stop overs or something to find their own way home, what would happen?

sorry, din's not too happy with this, lol

This has never occurred to me to ask but... When not on Agra 10 or the Agrii ship, are people's powers a TOUCH less dampened? I mean, characters assumed it was the planet or the Agrii making them weaker. But is it something else? Are powers still dampened to the same degree?

i'm not trying to see if tommy might accidentally explode some fruit while trying to use his powers to flash dry some seeds for future planting. Nope
