WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Din Djarin/Mando | Star Wars: The Mandalorian | Season 2 spoilers, as the kid's name will be used
A. First Breath
After returning to Agra-10, Din found his way to the hangar, looking at the condition of the ships. There's a cloth bag, slung across his chest and tucked under his left arm. The small form of the child looks out at them with large eyes from the bag. He makes a small noise as his gaze turns up to his caretaker.
"Let's have a look." Din comments, his steps almost automatically leads him toward the First Breath, and there's a sigh as the door obediently opens up for him. He steps inside, his boots thumping against the hard metal floors. It wasn't that long ago that his own ship was in bad shape as well, and he's careful in his steps as he moves, taking in the damage, and wondering just what they had missed.
A while later, he's found tools, and can be found inside or outside of the ship, doing repairs. The green child sits not too far away watching.
"Hey buddy." Din says, looking away from the repairs, addressing the kid. "Bring me that tool, will ya?" The child perks up, and stands up to toddle over to the tools, he picks one up, and holds it up to show the Mandalorian with an inquiring look. "Yes, that's it. Bring it here."
B. Network
[At some point he's going to check in, too. See who was still here, and to get answers.
As the camera comes on, there's the form of the familiarish silver t-visored helmet. From somewhere off camera, there's a soft 'patu' noise. For now the Mandalorian ignores it, and instead addressing the camera.]
So...what did we miss?
C. Wildcard!
[Want something else? go ahead.]
A - No need to avoid spoilers with me I’ve seen it lol.
Shrouded in a brown cloak and sticking to the shadows, the man watched from a distance. Blending in with the hull that he had ducked behind. Brows furrowed though as recognition dawned upon him. He knew that armor, or at least the people that wore it. However, what really got his attention was the small creature with the Mandalorian. Gaze focused intently on the little green toddler as he brought a tool to the man he was with.
Of all things that Obi-Wan Kenobi expected you find in this place, that was not it. Questions were already coming to mind, but for now, he continued to watch.

Din is on alert for anyone that might walk into the hangar. But usually the ones that would enter, make themselves known. Seemingly completely oblivious to the attention he's drawn, the Grogu toddles his way over to the Mandalorian with the tool. The Mandalorian lowering himself to kneel, and take the tool that's held up to him.
"Thanks, kid." Even if Din could've just as easily walked over and picked it up, it gave the kid something to do. Grogu coos in acknowledgement of the thanks. As the Mandalorian straightens to finish the repair he's doing, the child turns away. Dark eyes taking in the rest of the hangar for a moment, with small little grunts. Before he goes back to where he'd been before, plopping down like children tend to do, but his gaze turns up to watch the Mandalorian work.

Raising a hand to stroke his bearded chin, Obi-Wan continued to watch them interact. Deciding he could learn more about them just from watching before making his presence known. At least known to the Mando. He had suspicions, and he didn't know if this particular Mandalorian was friendly to Jedi or not. Did he even know what he had with him? It was better to be cautious. Perhaps instead he could reach the child?
Thus, closing his eyes, Obi-Wan reached out through the Force. Aiming to touch the young mind of little Grogu. Nothing harmful, a proverbial tap on the shoulder to get his attention. To see if he felt it and would send anything back.
Spoilers, just in case
At least, that is, until the force-tap on the shoulder.
The reaction is almost immediate, in that Grogu's head quickly swivels from watching the Mandalorian, to looking around the hangar, a soft noise that almost sounds like a 'huh?' escaping him. He's felt this before, not long ago when they met Ahsoka on Corvus and they convened.
It takes a minute before he puts two and two together. One small three-fingered hand raises, and his dark colored eyes narrow a little as he focuses, and tentatively pokes back.
no subject
Over here, little one. Can you find me?
Crouching down next to the ship, the Jedi tried to direct Grogu's attention in his direction. To follow his feelings to the person that was reaching out for him. To use his senses rather than his sight.
no subject
The feelings from Grogu's side come as curious, and hesitant. The uncertainty of this person he doesn't know.
I don't know
He even glances back up to the Mandalorian for a moment. He looks away again, and focuses once again. He knows the Mandalorian is here if he needs him, and Ahsoka was good. Perhaps this person was the same. He concentrates, trying to feel for where the man is. Eventually he climbs to his feet, and starts his way toward Obi-wan's location. Halting to occasionally to check where he's going.
no subject
Is he good to you?
Did this man treat the youngster well? Obi-Wan has met many types of Mandalorians, and not all of them savory. Even so he continues to beckon the child. Sending waves of assurance and and calm, to show that he means no harm.

a; no worries with spoilers I'm all caught up
His gaze follows the child's, landing on the armored man crouched by the side of the First Breath. Teddy had not encountered these two during their first time on Agra-10, but he had been told about them by his boyfriend, Billy, their former shipmate.
And there could only be so many armored guys going around with small green alien children, right?
"Um, hi." Teddy approaches the both of them with a little wave and crooked smile. "Did you both just get back? Billy will be glad to see the little guy again. I'm Teddy. Billy's boyfriend. He mentioned you two before."

The sound of the other ship's door closing, in the otherwise relatively quiet hangar, is enough to draw the child's attention away from his caretaker. He makes a noise that could almost be interpreted as 'huh?', as his pointy ears perk up. This also makes the Mandalorian turn, as Teddy approaches. He regards the man for a moment, assessing him, before he nods in return. He turns to face him completely as he stands up.
"We arrived not long ago, yes." He responds. "Call me Mando. This is my--" He pauses for a second to correct himself, right the kid has a name now. "Grogu." He gestures down at the toddler, he looks up at Teddy in curiosity. However, Grogu's ears perks up at the name 'Billy, and he makes a coo of interest.
"Billy...he's still here?" Din remembers him, and his kindness while they were here.
no subject
Grogu's cooing draws his attention and Teddy drops into a crouch, bringing himself closer to the toddler's level. Kind of. The kid is pretty short, but his small size is actually really endearing. Teddy can't help but smile at him.
"You definitely remember Billy, don't you, little guy? He'll be really happy to see you." Which should already answers Mando's question, but he still pauses and looks up, addressing the Mandalorian himself. "Yeah, Billy is still here. And a lot has happened the past couple of months. You'll have some catching up to do."
no subject
Grogu makes a happy coo again at Billy's name. Of course he remembers him. Billy was a good babysitter, when dad let him watch him anyway.
"I had that feeling." He looks back to the ships for a moment. "The ships look like they've been through hell. I assume everyone was alright?"
A- Spoilers fine
"You're back!?" He hurries to greet them, hesitating belatedly to check- "It is you, right? You remember me?" That would be awkward if they're some version of them who've never been here.
o/
"Billy." He nods to the young man in recognition, letting his posture relax a little. "We...just came back not long ago."
Grogu for his part let out a happy coo, and reaches his small arms out to Billy. Pick him up?
no subject
"Oh, I missed you," he greets, scooping the child up, "Both of you," he amends. "I didn't think I'd see you again. How long were you gone for...for you?"
no subject
"I can't say I missed this place." He wasn't too happy about the trickery back then, maybe they sent him home to cool off. "I didn't remember being here before. Not until we were back." And even then, it took a bit for the memories to flood back. But back home, it had been like the events with the Agrii never happened.
"It's been some time, a lot has happened." Which is an understatement. Most of it's not been all that great, frustrating really.
"Isn't that right...Grogu?" He says, his helm tilting down enough to look at the child. Grogu of course turns to look at the Mandalorian when happy chirp.
no subject
"Took you long enough to name him," he admonished teasingly, "The same thing happened to Tommy, my brother. He went home too, no memory of it until he came back."
no subject
"It wasn't me that named him." As strange as that is to admit. "He's always had one. I just..had no way of knowing it, since he doesn't speak basic." Yet, so far anyway. Honestly looking back, it made sense. The kid's fifty years old, of course he has a name.
"Damn, sounds like that's the what happens with everyone that leaves." He tilts his helmet. "Anything I should be aware of? The ships look like they're been through hell."
no subject
"Well it suits him. And we could start teaching him, he looks old enough. Don't you, Grogu? Mm? Get you some books?"
Billy sighs, not sure where to even start. "We crash landed into a month long storm where we were haunted by ghosts and our worst fears and memories. Do not recommend. Very glad you missed it."

He makes his way over to Mando, carefully stepping around other tools and parts in his path. Making a small noise, he holds the tool out to him. Here you go!
no subject
As Grogu approaches him, Mando crouches down to one knee, reaching out to gently take the tool from him.
"Thanks, buddy." He reaches out to briefly rub the kid's head. "Doing alright? Hungry or anything?"
no subject
Grogu releases the tool as it's taken. Eh, it's not interesting enough to hang onto. Besides, Mando needs it to do... Whatever it is he's doing. What is he doing? Does he care? Maybe. At least he did until the idea of food was put into his little head. His eyes widen and he makes a happy noise at the prospect of eating. Really? Have you met him? Is he ever not hungry?
no subject
unless you count Peli. No, the kid probably doesn't care. He hasn't exactly been doing much in the meantime. The wide eyes and happy sound makes him chuckle. He should have known. He glances back up to what he'd been working on, with a slight sigh, then back to the small green child.
"I have been at this a while, think I can take a break." He sets the tool down. "How about we find you something to eat." He knows well the kid how hungry the kid can be.
no subject
Knowing it's probably going to be a walk to wherever food is, he stretches his arms up towards Mando. Give a kid a lift?
no subject
Grogu can't see it, but Mando might be smiling a little under the helmet at the outstretched arms and the happy trilling. He reaches out his hand to gently grip the kid, and lift him as he straightens up with a soft grunt, shifting him to settle him in his arm. He knows the ships have their own food stores, but the kid needed more than the goop they offer.
Mando heads out of the hangar, and down to the diner by the fountain. He'll set the kid down on the counter once they enter, and he moves to the other side.
"Let's see what they have."
