WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Obi-Wan Kenobi | Star Wars
He is not impressed. Obi-Wan Kenobi has seen and gone through a great deal in his time, but this is one of the strangest. Having been whisked away from his seclusion in the desert to a run down city on a planet he's never even heard of. It might not have been terrible if he didn't have a purpose aside from wasting away in the middle of nowhere. But now he was in the middle of some other nowhere having been robbed of that purpose. This is far from ideal, even if it allows him to hide further away from the reaches of the newly formed Empire. He knows no one here, though at least he was given proper information when he first arrived. A small blessing even if it was far beyond his wishes.
Carefully walking the streets of this strange, broken city, one Jedi went exploring. Looking over the ruins and not-so-ruined buildings, keeping his distance from other beings as he sized everything up. Reaching out into the Force to sense what life surrounded him, and... there wasn't much.
His brown cloak billowing behind him as he went. The sound of something behind him caused the man to whirl around, his lightsaber instantly in hand as the weapon came to life. The glowing blue blade humming with energy, the knight poised to attack should he need to. Blue eyes fixed on whatever, or whoever, had tried to sneak up on him.
B. Spaceships for a Space Wizard
Eventually his wanderings led him to the hangar where a series of ships were lined up. The robed figure strolling past each of the large space faring vehicles, looking them up and down and judging each one. They were not exactly what he was familiar with, but a ship was a ship, and he knew his way around them.
It wasn't until he came to the last one, designated the Starduck, that the hatch opened for him. Brows raising curiously, the Jedi ducked inside to take a look around. Snooping through the ship, he took a look in each of the rooms, eventually coming to the cockpit and studying the controls. When he was satisfied he made his way out again. Taking a few minutes to more carefully study the exterior of this particular vessel.
Perhaps you run into him inside or just notice him curiously looking things over. Either way, it's clear that this man knows a thing or two about ships as he studies them. Standing there and stroking his beard thoughtfully as he considers them, the Starduck in particular.

Heheheh
His metal face certainly declares he's a robot of some kind, but he wears clothing, his armor mostly leather with a few pieces in metal. Blue optics shutter in a blink, and then all at once he casts off the awkwardness and actually appears to grin. Amber light spills from his throat as he greets, "Hey there! Who are you and why're you on my ship?"
no subject
"You can call me Ben," the Jedi says in reply. The man calmly looking around the bunk room with just a hint of curiosity.
"As for why I'm here, the door was open. Are you a service droid of some sort?"
That was the only logical explanation after all. Droids were meant to have some sort of function on a ship. They didn't own ships of their own since they were not actual living beings. So that was his immediate assumption.
no subject
"The name's Cayde. I'm one of this ship's small crew," he says as he gives his gun a once over and then sets it down on the bed. He steps around it, hooking his thumbs in his belt as he looks the robed stranger over, walking so smoothly he could have been flesh and blood beneath that Hunter gear.
"You new around here? Silly question, 'course you are."
no subject
"I see, then it's a pleasure to meet you." Quickly covering up the supposed blunder with his usual politeness, the Jedi dips his head in a nod.
"There does not seem to be many beings here at all, so I can only assume it's easy to spot someone new."
no subject
"You've got the right of it. There's maybe like...twenty or so of us around here? Small, abandoned town. That's the way it goes. Oh, you won't find the actual residents of this planet here though, otherwise it'd be a lot busier."

A!
And suddenly there is a flash of light as energy manifests into a humming blade, making Jon stop abruptly, look up in surprise - And stare.
It takes him a moment to realize that what he is looking at is a weapon.
Then he screams, backing away, hands up in front of him. And by all means, Jon is neither a tall man, nor a strong-looking one. "Wh-whaAAHAH- WAIT! D-don't hurt me! PLEASE!" Those scars are not the results of acts of bravery, mind you.
no subject
"I'm not going to hurt you," Obi-Wan said wearily, while putting the weapon back on his belt.
His hands then folding inside the large sleeves of his cloak as he patiently waited for whoever this was to calm down.
no subject
His expression turns apologetic. "Ah- I- I'm sorry. Di-Didn't mean to surprise--" And then it is as if a switch is flipped as realization hits the Archivist. "You are new! I mean- Here. On Agra 10!"
no subject
"Yes, unfortunately I am. I suppose that it wouldn't be hard to notice considering the lack of beings I have seen here."
This city was practically a ghost town. It would be a lonely existence here, he was sure of it. Though not any more so than in his forced exile back home. He had yet to figure out what the other people here were like and thus was treading carefully.
no subject
But that's not something to dwell on now. He can do better in the future. Right now, though, there are more important matters. Matter that make Jon's gesturing shift slightly, vaguely indicating the direction of the city center. "I assume you have noticed the data point? That little info dump the Agrii provided us with...?"
Given that not everyone trusts the data points, it's a good enough question to start with.

"Woah, hey- sorry. We didn't mean to startle you."
no subject
"You would do well to keep better control of your droid." The irritation dripping from his voice as scrutinized the rolling ball. It was certainly no model he had ever seen before. "A leash perhaps?"
no subject
"Is that so? Well, I guess you don't need our help then, come on BB-8, he knows what he's doing."
no subject
"I would certainly like to think so. Good day to you."
It was with a polite bow that Obi-Wan turned, his cloak swirling around him.
no subject
"You're new here, right? I can take you to the others from our galaxy. Cal'll be glad to see another Jedi."

That said, he stared back at the other man as they both stood there for a moment, ready to fight and defend, but neither attacking.

“That’s not exactly Huttese, is it?”
The Jedi relaxing to lower his weapon a bit, looking to see if he would do the same. Though truthfully a metal blade wasn’t much of a match for a lightsaber. There was no danger here.
no subject
The bayard still present, but it didn't exactly look like metal, and Keith didn't seem worried about an energy-based blade. He'd used it against one before.
"Huttese?" Keith shook his head. "No... it's Altean."
no subject
The Jedi straightens up and deactivates his lightsaber, putting it back on his belt. Not that he couldn’t defend himself still, even without his weapon, the man looks considerably calmer as he folds his hands in Gus sleeves.
“Forgive me, I only recently arrived and... well I’m certain you understand.”
Being suddenly dumped in a strange place was as alarming as it was disorienting.

Obi-Wan blinks and could kick himself for turning his weapon on a child as he looks down. The blue blade of his lightsaber disappearing completely.
“Hello there little one,” he says as he bends down to better look at the tiny being. His brow furrowing as he sensed something.
“Forgive me, I was a bit startled.”
no subject
His ears raise a bit and he coos as if to tell the stranger that it's okay.

He could sense that the baby was strong in the Force and do he decided to try something. Instead of speaking he reached out to touch the little one’s mind with his own. Communicating with feelings rather than with words.
Can you tell me your name little one?

That someone turning around with a bright blue flaming rod was new, and she found herself drawing back up against the wall she'd been by, almost fascinated by the sight of something new. Not him, of course. She'd seen humans before. But that was an interesting weapon. It smelled... peculiar. Energized. "Well, well. What's that and where can I get one?"
