WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME

WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Ripley 8 | Alien Resurrection | OTA (Will match prose/brackets)
i: Deep End
Maybe it was her otherness that picked up on where most of the bodies might be, but without fail, she found herself in a part of this new city where all the 'meat' was. The sounds of it were almost familiar, and she slunk in and kept herself to the edges as she just... watched for a little while. She could be lured over with a nod or a smile, or just the offer of a drink and more information. While new, she didn't seem overly concerned about that fact.ii: Spaceships
This was more her speed, more her area of expertise. The smell of recycled air, the grease and metal that hung in the air, the static of electricity that played over and through the equipment. This was what she'd been born into, after all. And while she was still trying to piece together how she'd gotten here despite that 'download' from the globe, the idea of a ship being available to take her out of there if she wanted was tempting.Or, it had been until she'd seen the state of them. The Betty was held together better than these, and that was saying something. She walked down the line of them, pausing when she stopped in front of one labeled 'Bishop'. That triggered something in Ellen's memories, and Ripley held her hand up to the security panel. It hissed open with a grating sound of metal. "Well, isn't that convenient."
iii: Network
username: ripleyAnyone have any idea how to get off this hunk of rock?
iv: Wildcard
Got an idea? Like to come across her elsewhere? Feel free to pick a spot in the city she might have wandered to. Or another ship to peek into.ii
"What is it Buddy?" he called, before catching sight of the new arrival. "He's friendly," he promised with a teasing smile, gesturing to the droid, "They assign you to Bishop? You should be glad, she comes with a hell of a pilot."

The human face that joined it to look over at her as she stepped in had her pausing. "I'm not sure. Am I intruding? I thought I'd see what they considered 'space worthy' here. This one... caught my eye."
i!
When a new face stepped in, glowing blue optics flicked over in the woman's direction and he gave her an up-nod in greeting before tagging it with a "Hey there!" Amber light flashed at the back of his throat with his words, and it sure appeared like the robot was smiling somehow.

Coming over to the bar, she slid onto a seat, looking at him curiously as she did. "And what model are you?" The robotic version of 'where you from', she supposed.
no subject
"Name's Cayde. Not from around here, much like everyone else in town," he continued conversationally as he poured her a drink.
no subject
It was as polite as Ripley got. Sorry.

Nope. Doesn't seem possible from what I've found out. We're all stuck.

Story of my lives. So what's there to do on said hunk of rock?
no subject
That depends on what you want to do. Folks have found all sorts of jobs for themselves.
no subject
I found a bar run by a synthetic. He mentioned giant spiders. Is this a place we need to find our own weapons, or is there a storage unit somewhere?
no subject
[ But giant insects are nothing new on Tatooine. ]
Pretty sure the ships got some. Might be someone around who makes 'em. I was luckily enough to get taken with one so haven't much looked into it.
no subject
If all else failed, she could go make her own nest and let the humans ruin their own lives. They were so good at it.]
So we can't leave and there's no clear reason why we're here. What else is there to do besides drinking and squishing bugs?
no subject
Welcome to small town life.
[ There's really not much day to day besides survival. So, what Cobb's used to. ]
no subject
[Her fingers slipped. That just came out. But really... farm? She felt an all over body shudder at that. That was drone work.]
I'll see what I can do with the ships. That's closer to my area of experience.
[Partly. She still had Ellen's memories to filter through, and they'd helped her fly the Betty.
Small town life sucked, Cobb. Why would you do this to her?]
no subject
[ If someone's heading it at all. He's still learning the area himself but he likes to be helpful. ]
I'm sure they'd appreciate the help.
[ It's not that bad. Can be very fulfilling if you let it. ]
no subject
We'll see if I can be any. I'm not sure if I'll be familiar with the systems here.
[Still, she was a fast learner, and she had some knowledge of the workings of mechanics and engineering. It was just a matter of tapping in the right part of her memories.]
There are ships here. On a planet I'm not familiar with. That means there's a system. Other planets. Anyone gone there?
no subject
[ He still hasn't touched one himself but he's asked about them. ]
They've got star charts you can look at and I'm pretty sure they've done a little exploring.
[ Ah, the questions he can't really answer. ]
