WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME

WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

He peers at the map once Cal pulls it up, but, of course, nothing looks remotely familiar.
"Who's 'we'? There was a list of people on this datapad thing-" He pulls out his network device and flips through screens. "Your name, here, I think. Under crew for the Bishop? Where were you trying to go?"
no subject
Stooping down, Cal holds an arm out to let BD-1 clamber up, the droid eventually settling behind his shoulder, clinging to his rigger's harness. "There's several ships-" he nods, folding his arms as he leans against the console, continuing, "-with roughly the same number of people assigned to each. Usually you can't board their ships unless given permission, by the way. But some months ago, there was a distress call from the ones who supposedly brought us to this planet in the first place, the Agrii."
Cal reaches over to hit another button to zoom into a particular section, not marked off by a planet, but by...some kind of sliver. "We were trying to reach the Agrii's ship, and to get there, we had to go through some kind of portal."
no subject
Mention of a distress call grabs his attention, and he glances worriedly between Cal and the screen. "A portal. Ok." He remembers the portals that were somehow part of the Jedi temple on Lothal, so he can believe that. "What happened then?"
no subject
It's easier to reflect on now, but at the same time it's more apparent how badly things could have gone if they'd done anything differently. "Guess it kind of helped that we'd been suspicious about everything, Agrii included, from the start. It's the first we actually ever met any of them, after all."
no subject
Then he falls silent for a moment, before sighing. The last week or so of his life has been such whole new levels of strange, before he even got here, that he's just going with it. Skeptical in the back of his mind, like Cal said, but he's going to keep trying to hold onto some calm and learn what he can.
"So let's see if I've got this right, so far," he says, continuing, slowly. "For...months, at least - or longer, you tell me - the Agrii have somehow been bringing people to this planet. I'm just the latest on the list. And someone, whether internal to them, or some other entity or faction, is trying to make trouble for them? Are there Agrii here now, or did they all stay on their ship?"
no subject
"Pretty much. Maybe not specifically for the Agrii, but they're certainly included, but then so are we." He sighs. "The Agrii brought us here in hopes that we'd be able to figure out how to fix their world. It's been plagued by energy storms that happen every so often- they don't just endanger things in a physical sense, but for some reason they affect the Agrii too, and can be outright lethal. Right now the Agrii are, or at least should be on their ship in orbit of this planet, Agra Ten."
no subject
He lands on - "Mentally?"
no subject
"...I'm not really sure if it's mentally. It's kind of difficult to describe. I'll start with what happened back on the ship. There were some unidentified ships that were meant to be seen as the enemy- and when they fired on the Agrii ship, it disrupted the systems, as well as any...well, any unusual abilities or powers anyone may have." He's watching Ezra carefully as he mentions this, but continues all the same. "It also affected the Agrii we found- she collapsed in pain and just cried out about the storm."
no subject
"Do - do a lot of people the Agrii have brought here have unusual abilities?" he asks, voice a little unsteady. So much for holding onto calm. He takes another deep breath, trying to center himself. "Did you ever find out where the intruders came from, or what they called themselves?"
no subject
"...there's quite a few of us," he acknowledges. "Some call themselves mutants, and I guess they were born with certain abilities. I've met someone who can run and move so fast it's almost impossible to detect. There's a shapeshifter, and there are some whose abilities I'm not even sure what to classify them as. They call it magic." He looks a little uncertain about that, shrugging. "And there are those who can just sense and tap into..." He seems hesitant, but then he doubts he'll ever shake the paranoia, the caution of having to remain hidden for half a decade, and Obi-Wan's concerns are fresh in his mind. "...the Force, we call it. Or at least those from the same galaxy I know."
He arches a brow as he looks at Ezra. 'Karabast' doesn't seem like a word commonly used anywhere, and while he feels it might be a stab in the dark, there's been an...interesting number of people that have been brought in from familiar systems lately.
"The intruders were from a nearby planet- nearby to where the ship had been. They're called the Graq, and they were just as confused to be where they were as anyone else. Someone pulled them aboard the ship, armed them and all they wanted to do was go home."
no subject
"...I know the Force," he admits, quietly. "The Force wielders here, what do they-" No, Cal had implied was one of them, hadn't he? And he has that maybe lightsaber.
Cal doesn't feel Dark, like the Inquisitors and Vader. But then Maul didn't at first, either, at least not strongly against the background feeling of Malachor. And Maul had certainly been capable of hiding himself, afterwards, too.
He straightens his shoulders and lifts his chin a little. "What do you call yourself?"
no subject
"A survivor," he says. "...I was a padawan when the Purge happened. This...might sound strange to you, but I've already met different people from the same galaxy but different timelines. I'm not sure where or when you're coming from, but for me, it's been five years since the end of the Clone Wars and the establishment of the Empire."
no subject
Alright. Ok. He nods to himself. He doesn't think Cal is lying. Five years back - he's guessing Cal would have been about the same age Kanan had been. That tracks.
"My master was a padawan who survived the Purge, too. I was born the day the Republic became the Empire."
no subject
"I see. I'm glad to hear there have been others. I know there must be, but...well I guess we wouldn't be doing a great job if we were so easy to find." He tilts his head, doing some quick calculations. "So you're at least further along the line than three of us, maybe. It's kind of strange, but we've got a good handful of people from a familiar galaxy. Then there are others from completely different places, and versions of those same places, from what I've come to understand."
no subject
Gone.
He swallows hard. He imagines Cal can fill in that blank.
"But things are changing. People are tired of being pushed around by the Empire and fighting back. And winning, sometimes," he insists. "I- ah. Did something. It was supposed to give my family and friends a chance to kick the Imperial troops off of Lothal entirely. I knew it would take me far away from them. I didn't expect.... quite this far away."
no subject
"...I'm sorry," he says, giving the smallest of nods. "Can't say I blame the Jedi for still wanting to be in hiding, for those still out there. We were betrayed and from the sound of it, people didn't care to try and clear our name. But with the Emperor still in power, I guess that's no surprise."
He lifts his head then. It's only inevitable that there would be those who have been pushed too far. "I knew there were some groups. I've only met one headed by a Saw Gerrera, out on Kashyyyk. But I'm glad to hear people are fighting back." Winning is good. But the sometimes implies the unsaid, and fighting against an Empire can't be easy. Still, what Ezra continues with has Cal blinking.
"Lothal...I've heard of it but never been there. What did you do?"
no subject
"Have you ever heard of the purgill? Really big space creatures that crash into ships sometimes?" He gestures to indicate really big.
"I made friends with some a while back. Turns out, they're pretty powerfully connected to the Force, and they can, like legends say, go into hyperspace naturally. So I-" He rubs the back of neck, a little sheepish, because he knows this sounds ridiculous out loud. "Asked them to come grab and kidnap the Imperial fleet blockading Lothal. They're pretty intelligent, but I couldn't exactly give them a detailed battle plan, so I told them to zero in on me. And then made sure I was on the bridge of the flagship."
no subject
"You made friends with one? Sounds like you've got an affinity with animals," Cal marvels, grinning a bit. "Wow... That sounds amazing. And pretty dangerous, but..." Dealing with the Empire, being a Jedi- these were dangerous times. "So that's what you remember last, then."
