This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Hot Summer Time!

Summer has arrived and you know what that means: It's time to head out and spend some time at the beach, lounging on its bluish, almost purple sand, going for a swim or gathering some of the fat, green lobsters just wandering around the beach. They may be tasty, but remember that their pinch is toxic. It won’t kill you but it will definitely have the pinched body part swelling up and itching like a bad wool sweater.

If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.

Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.

Explore the city!

Here's a map and a bit more description of some of the buildings here.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.

If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

Visit the spaceships!

That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar - Or what remains of them. It's painfully obvious that these ships have crash-landed not too long ago and were taken back to the hangar for repairs. You were assigned to one of them and its doors will open for you and let you enter if you wish. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but as neither of them look as if they will be leaving anytime soon that doesn't really matter either way.

Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?

Try the network!

Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

There be storms...

These power-altering storms keep ravaging parts of the planet every once in a while. No one truly knows where they come from or what to do about them yet, but one of them appears to be approaching. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you rather feel drawn to investigate.

Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Wildcard!

You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking. Quite unlike a gathering of potentially dangerous creatures to encounter. The setting is yours to explore and have fun with!

Billy's world hasn't felt right since Teddy left, and worse since he was tortured with those memories, and for a moment he just basks in the calm that comes from being reunited.

"Hey-" he murmurs back, gaze lifting to look at him properly. "...You look different," he notes. Is he even older now? Or- his chest clenches- is this a different Teddy all together?

Teddy gazes down at him, his eyes taking in his hair, his face. “So do you.” He hasn’t seen this hair cut on him in a few years.

“I guess this is why Tommy asked me when I’m from huh?”

Tommy's seen him all ready? It's not like Billy can blame him for not immediately rushing to let him know after everything that's happened.

He nods softly, and that's enough to guess- "You...don't remember being here...do you?"

Teddy shakes his head. Remember being there? Definitely not, but if Billy is asking... “No. Was I here before?”

"You were. Or...a version of you?" Billy makes a face that says it's complicated, and if the Young Avengers don't know complicated well. "Sometime people come and go, and they remember being here before. Other times it's like a whole new version of them. And sometimes it's...I dunno, like multiverse stuff. Like there's too versions of Bucky Barnes right now."

Looking Teddy over he feels fairly certain this is still his Teddy, just one a bit ahead of him, and without any memory of this place. But there's ways to be more sure. "Tell me about home?"

"I feel like that's a lot of Bucky Barnes." And a lot to wrap his head around. He's not sure he likes the idea that another version of him was here or this version of him and he doesn't remember it.

"What do you want to know?" Judging from his haircut alone Billy is a few years behind him, he's not sure what he should be saying, what Billy would want to know. Should he tell him they are married?

"At one point there was four of them." He knows it's a lot. And he hates that he has to subject Teddy to explaining it all again.

"...Something you think might be unique to our world?" Billy clarifies uncertainly, "...Unique to us? So we can tell if we're..." He breaks off, not really wanting to finish, because he's not sure how that might change things between them.

It's a lot, but they have also dealt with a lot. He's somehow become an emperor in the last year. He's pretty sure he can handle most things...he hopes.

"I'm assuming how much I love you is probably not unique to just our world, huh?" He trails off trying to think. "Saving the world with the power of love?"

"Mmm," Billy smiles and shakes his head. "S'gotta be pretty much universal," he agrees. He considers the second answer a moment, and seems to relax a little, rocking up to press a kiss to Teddy's jaw with a decisive nod. "Sounds pretty unique," he says softly, pressing close again and drawing comfort for just a little longer before he can set his mind to offering it instead.

"So...Tommy- how much did he tell you?"

Teddy smiles softly at the press of Billy’s lips against his jaw. If Billy thinks thats all the kissing he’s getting than he has another thing coming. He tilts his head down and captures Billy’s lips in a soft kiss. There. Now everything is right in the world again.

He pulls Billy impossibly closer, letting him take whatever comfort he needs.

“He told me you guys have been here for almost two years, and you’ve both gone through a lot. He was spotty on details. Though I got the gist that I can’t just use one of those matrix cubes and learn what you guys have been through.” Which is a bummer that would have made things a little easier.

“But I think I’d like to hear about it from you anyway.”

God, he's missed this. Missed him. Billy returns the kiss and breathes in Teddy's scent, sure beyond any doubt this is his Teddy.

He reaches up to delicately touch Teddy's crown with a curious smile. "Looks like you've been through a lot too," he notes, nodding and pulling away to lead Teddy to sit with him at the table. It's a long story.

He murmurs a spell to clean up the mess he'd made, and heal his finger tips which he's only just remembered, so caught up in reuniting with Teddy.

"There's so much, I'm not really sure where to start..."

"

It says a lot about how used to the crown he’s gotten; he forgot it was there. His smile is bordering on wry. “Yeah, it’s… another long story. I’ll tell you though, if you want to know.” Isn’t there some rule about not knowing too much of the future? The. Again if Tommy is right it doesn’t matter because he won’t remember.

He follows Billy over to sit down, and immediately takes his hands. He doesn’t want to not be touching him right now. Not when everything feels fragile, and not when he’s sure Billy is going to tell him things that are going to hurt.

“I hear the beginning is a good place to start.”

There is. It's one Billy's wavered on more than a few times here. But Teddy's future as Emperor has been spoiled for him at least a few times all ready. Though like Teddy, he'd like to hear it from Teddy himself.

He smiles fondly, thumb stroking over Teddy's knuckles with a soft laugh.

"..We'd just saved the world. Via love. We had our party, and the next thing I knew, I was here. Just...woke up by the fountain. Tommy was here too, but from a few months ahead of me, I think. We didn't have power then, or running water. It was...rough. No you. That was rougher." His lips quirk a little. "There's a Wanda here, but not for our world. She had a Vision, but he's gone now too. Tommy took it really hard..."

“I’m sorry I wasn’t here.” And he is, even if he knows that was totally out of his control. He can’t imagine- they had just started to work things out and then suddenly being separated. He squeezes Billy’s hands reassuringly, he can imagine Tommy taking that hard. “And you? How’d you take it?”

"Don't be." Billy tries to shake that off. As glad as he's been when Teddy has been here with him, it's always accompanied by a certain amount of guilt for all the times he'd wished he were there before and known it wasn't fair. He never wanted Teddy to be trapped here with them, but he can't help but be grateful he has him back again.

He pauses. "I um...I dunno? He was nice. Made a real effort. I was sad to see him go, obviously, but I never-...I didn't connect with him the same as Tommy I don't think? He's-...family's been real important to him here." To Billy though, apart from Tommy, and now Teddy, his family's back home. And he misses them desperately, especially being pulled from when he was, he hasn't had a chance to make up for being on the run and separated from them for so long.

Teddy nods. Of course Tommy would look for more of a connection with “family” than Billy, it made sense. He didn’t have to ask to know how much Billy missed his own family if he hadn’t seen them in almost two years.

“What else? What have you guys been doing here for two years, I mean besides trying to get a whole city up and running.” No small feat.

What else. There's been so much.

Billy thinks for a moment, explaining in a bit of a jumble. "We went to space a few times. To this winter planet with a weird robot Santa thing, that's when the other you showed up. And to this planet some people here are from- where the whole planet is one big crazy city with layers on top of layers. We went and found the Agrii, and fought for them, they're up there somewhere now," he points overhead. "They still can't come down here, but they're kind of cute. Um...there's the storm, they're horrible. And calibrations. They're worse. And then uh...then you disappeared."
