SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Hot Summer Time!
If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.
Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Then Tommy was going in through sliding glass doors, and putting Teddy down on a stone bench on a path in the greenhouse. Tommy's gone like a flash and the leaves in the area blew in the breeze. Then Tommy was back with a bowl and a collection of plants.
"Gotta make a paste and not atomize it. Sorry, gonna have to go snail speed for this."

"Space Wedding. Billy's from earlier than that. He doesn't... He hasn't gotten that far yet. Where you are. Or the first wedding. So that's going to be awkward. And since you don't remember this place that means that things are different so it gets even MORE complicated."
He moves through a number of plants, throwing them into the bowl, pounding them with a stone to turn it into a paste.

"Billy and I were part of the first wave of people the Agrii brought to this world. We've been here for about twenty-two months. I had a brief stint back home, and by brief I mean I left here for a handful of days but when I was home basically I lived everything from the night David got me back from the thing that took me, up until the wedding reception. And then I was here again. When I was home I didn't remember everything. As for remembering, you, or maybe another version of you from another dimension or something, was here for a while, until around two months ago."
So much that has to be said here, and so much that he doesn't know how to explain. This was all a mess, quite a bit of a mess. Billy was going to hurt, to have Teddy back. And Teddy not remembering all that they had been through. And when things they had been through explained stuff like the scar that took up much of Tommy's one arm, a clear electrical burn that seemed to be in the shape of something not unlike a real lightning strike... One has to expect shit had happened.

He blows out a long breath, taking in everything Tommy is telling him while he smears the salve on his hand. It's...a lot. "You've been here for almost two years? How long was I here before I left?"
He's trying to get a sense of what he's walking into. He and Billy had just been separated, Billy gone for months with Strikeforce for what Teddy still doesn't know, and then Teddy was gone with the Alliance. It was hard but they managed it, but this was recent. This was after everything they had been through, AIM and space and possession by evil space squids from the 5th dimension. "How far back is Billy then?"
no subject
In fact, it will probably get even more complicated than it was before.
"Yeah. I'm ancient by the measure of this place. And you-him was here for maybe a year?"
It didn't even feel all that long, when he thought about it. Teddy couldn't even imagine how much that had hurt Billy, to lose someone he loved.
"He's from that New Year's Eve, Teddy. There's so much he doesn't know. Sure, we've talked about it some, and he doesn't know everything unless you-him told him more than I thought. It's awkward, to talk about it. Hell, I've barely told him about the shit I have going on."

David's name makes Tommy wince though. Talk about a whole can of worms there Teddy.
"We talked about David, a little. And about how Billy grows up and is a bit of a dick to me with the avoidance bullshit. But it's not something we can avoid. This is sorta worse than the whole 'Demiurge' fate thing because you don't remember when you go home so it's a predestination that can't be avoided."
So Billy will eventually be home and do the whole avoiding Tommy and pushing the wedding off for years and failing to notice his brother was bi and maybe kinda but maybe not dating David because what are labels. And it will suck for Tommy because he would remain isolated and in his brother's shadow and won't even know that Vision was actually about to step up and treat them like sons or things like that.
It was stupid and he hated it thanks.
"The salve helping? Gotta take you to the diner for tea."

He watches Tommy as he talks, he knows how much Tommy hates talking about anything resembling feelings, and he also knows how much it sucked when Billy was doing his avoidance thing. He’s heard the rant, more than once, not that he blames him really. It must suck, knowing it’s all going to happen anyway. He supposes he should get used to that.
“Yeah, it’s helping. Bring on the tea.”
no subject
"Alright then. Keep your cookies."
Tommy grabs Teddy up and there's another one of those normal Tommy blurs of speed and then he's setting Teddy down in a chair next to a table in what was clearly a kitchen. And Tommy? He's filling a kettle with water and then putting his hand near it.
Two years, it helps someone get motivated enough to learn how to use that kinetic manipulation stuff to learn how to heat without explosions.

It takes him a moment to orient himself as Tommy zips around. “When did you learn how to make tea?” Not something he ever thought he’d see Tommy do, but he also wants to get him talking again. There’s a reason he didn’t take him immediately to Billy and he has a feeling he’s not going to get an easy answer.

"There isn't coffee here very often. A lot of people use tea instead because we can easily make tea-like things from stuff that grows in the greenhouse," Tommy answered. "And it's not hard. Hot water over leaves. The Ag Datapoint at least told me how to do this much."
Tommy keeps the heat on with his powers until the pot is whistling and then he's dropping leaves into the water. The hot water goes right over it.
"We don't have bags and I'd have to bug Jon to find a steeper I guess."
