SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Hot Summer Time!
If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.
Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

"There's a ruin not far from here." He points through the gale, some thirty feet ahead. "I was heading for it when this all overtook me like a squall."
no subject
Then they might have a chance at tracking down whoever it is messing with them both. And everyone else in this damn storm's area. Constantine keeps a hold of the stranger's hand, not trusting either of them not to be lured away and lost.
"Who was that back there?"
no subject
"Neither is mine. Believe me, I have some gifts for whoever is responsible for that."
The outlines of the ruin are scarcely visible through the debris blown about, and Loki's glad for a hand to hold: not just a reminder that something is real, but a small sort of comfort. The fact alone that Constantine stopped for him is already endearing.
"Which, the towering oaf in the red cape that stood between us? My brother, Thor."
no subject
"Thor?" Raising his free hand to shield his face, Constantine glances at the other man. He doesn't stand out as much as the git in the cape had, but he knows better than to just ignore a name like that. "Your parents either hated you or I'll have more questions for you after--"
A scream cuts through the air and Constantine stops dead in his tracks. It's young, a little girl's voice, and painfully familiar. "John!"
no subject
"She's not real either. I promise you. We're close, now. Come on. We can - we can make this."
He concentrates, trying to call on his magic to part the cloud of dust and debris, but only pale sparks fly from his fingers, fizzling impotently down to the ground. "Blast! ... We've got to keep going, John. Get out of this. You - you helped me. Let me return the favor..."
no subject
His hand returns the squeeze and there's a rough edge to his voice. "...yeah. You're right. Have to push through this."
His gaze goes to the faint, barely there sparks from the other's hands. "And when we're out of this, we're going to find whatever bastards are responsible and make them pay."
The last however many meters to the ruin feels like it takes forever, and Constantine half hopes that the blond git from earlier shows up again, sorely wanting to take a swing at something after all of this. The walls at least offer some relief from the howling wind, although as he leans against the wall and looks around, Constantine isn't certain how much shelter it'll offer if the storm keeps advancing.
"Any luck with your magic now?"
no subject
He concentrates, holding his hands out in front of him. Another wall appears, the edges of the bricks glowing a faint green before they take on the illusion of solid stone. Loki gives a triumphant 'ha' at the sight of their mobile shelter, but his grin fades as quickly as the wall.
"Damn! ... Only enough to conjure, not enough to make it last. These storms, whatever they're made of, are far too strong. We may have to ride this out." He sighs, then realizes he knows the other man's name yet hasn't given his own. "Thank you for your help back there. I am Loki, of Asgard."
no subject
"'course you are, handsome. Tosser named Thor and that kind of power, who else would you be?" His fingers itch for a cigarette but Constantine keeps the craving down, fishing out his lighter and flicking it open a few times instead.
"John Constantine. Starting to think I'm in over my head if you're stuck here as well." But they were in it together, regardless the situation, and Constantine takes a look around the area. He can't make walls from the air itself, but in a way that's an advantage. He's used to thinking of more flexible solutions to his problems.
"So you can't make a wall as easily, but what about moving what's already here? The ground here isn't all hard rock, any chance we can shift some of it and block off parts of a more useable spot?"
no subject
It would be hard to scout a suitable spot with their current lack of visibility, but he peers through cracks in the wall and tries anyway.
no subject
"Right," he muttered more to himself. Then he straightened and tossed the god a grin. "You stay here, yeah? I'll take a look around. No sense in both of us getting killed if there's more to this."
no subject
"You're not a god, John. Better neither of us gets killed, eh?"
no subject
Perhaps not unexpected that might not reassure Loki much, but Constantine doesn't try and push the matter. "Alright, we'll go together. You sure you'll have the strength to move the wall once we find something?"
no subject
He peers over the edge of the rubble, scanning the horizon until he finds the point John had mentioned.
"There," he says, pointing. "Ready to run? I'll follow you."
no subject
Running headfirst into a storm of ghosts and memories with a god by his side? And here he'd thought this place would be boring. The wind howls around them as they dart out, the storm definitely increasing as it gets closer and he imagines that it won't be much longer until they lose what magic they've been able to claw back. Better to do this quick, then.
"Close enough for you?"
no subject
"Yes," he shouts over the howling wind, reaching out with his magic. A portal opens, and he pulls the rock wall from their previous shelter through, using it to complete a perfect four-square structure and enclose them. Once they're safe, he casts one last illusion: a heavy canvas tarpaulin for a roof. Mercifully, it holds.
no subject
"Christ," he mutters, still staring at the wall and then at the tarpaulin. Nothing like a god to make the 'petty dabbler' part of his remarks about his own magic feel accurate.
Carefully, he reaches up and prods the tarp. Solid. Bloody hell. "You really are the real deal. Loki, god of mischief and all that. Christ I could do with a smoke."
