SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application

Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Thread ideas:

Hot Summer Time!
Summer has arrived and you know what that means: It's time to head out and spend some time at the beach, lounging on its bluish, almost purple sand, going for a swim or gathering some of the fat, green lobsters just wandering around the beach. They may be tasty, but remember that their pinch is toxic. It won’t kill you but it will definitely have the pinched body part swelling up and itching like a bad wool sweater.

If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.

Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.

Explore the city!
Here's a map and a bit more description of some of the buildings here.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.

If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

Visit the spaceships!
That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar - Or what remains of them. It's painfully obvious that these ships have crash-landed not too long ago and were taken back to the hangar for repairs. You were assigned to one of them and its doors will open for you and let you enter if you wish. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but as neither of them look as if they will be leaving anytime soon that doesn't really matter either way.

Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?

Try the network!
Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

There be storms...
These power-altering storms keep ravaging parts of the planet every once in a while. No one truly knows where they come from or what to do about them yet, but one of them appears to be approaching. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you rather feel drawn to investigate.

Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

More information can be found here.

Wildcard!
You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking. Quite unlike a gathering of potentially dangerous creatures to encounter. The setting is yours to explore and have fun with!

Of course she wasn't dropping her alert posture. There was no reason not to be a bit distrustful of a Kree warrior.

"There are two obstacle courses," Lauri-Ell noted as she took them to the building and pushed in. "Down two halls and then we will be in the space. I would invite you to enjoy them."

There were few people that Gamora actually dropped it around completely. An all but stranger? She might not be as harsh or unapproachable as she once was, but she didn't scream come talk to me.

"What manner of obstacles?" Not that it would make her balk, but she was still curious about it. She glanced around the entry as she entered into the building, stalking after her.

Oh, Lauri-Ell would not expect it dropped around her even were she a familiar face. Kree Accusers were not universally welcomed with open arms. It made sense too. Before her tenure began, they were known to inflict their interpretation of Kree law upon all worlds, even those not controlled by the Kree.

It was an order that had lost its nobility.

"I have attempting one made in the style of Kree training worlds. It is very much a work in progress. Keith has been assisting me with other styles he knows. The other was created by Clarice based on something called Quan-tea-co's facilities. It seems to be more focused on running and climbing walls with ropes over them. Humans have very strange concepts of what they may run into on a battle field. I have never known a wall I needed to scale to just have a rope over the edge."

In the style of Kree training worlds. Her eyebrow twitched upward slightly. With Thanos, she had been around the galaxy, under his thumb, but she had seen a lot. More than she wanted to see, in one way, but it had opened up her eyes. She'd been young when he had come to her world, but she could still remember the screams, the destruction, the death...

In one way, compared to all other threats, they paled to Thanos.

"Humans have many strange concepts overall, not just in a battle field." There was exasperation in her voice, but there was also a hint of warmth. Say what one would, but Peter had worked his way into her life, inch by grudging inch. "But I have never heard of this... tea company thing."

"They indeed do. They are very interesting. I believe we shall benefit from the Emperor's experiences on Earth," she mused more to herself than for Gamora's specific benefit. An Earth raised ruler to the Skrull and Kree was already bringing new hope to their peoples.

"I have not either. Clarice spoke to me of it. She is very wise for a human. She has taught me of shopping and non-uniform clothes and other things," Lauri-Ell said with a smile. "It has been nice."
justlethal: (056)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-07-24 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
She arched an eyebrow at that statement, although the other seemed to be speaking more or less to herself. It was something that she made note of, to look into later. For now, she mused over her own interactions, although Quill was the closest that she had gotten to a Terran.

"And does she have a fixation with their songs and their movies of the Bacon man?"

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-07-24 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Clarice?" Lauri-Ell said, frowning. That didn't seem right. She kept them moving through an area with a clear obstacle course. Instead she turns them into a larger side room with a packed sand floor.

"I do not know that she does. I haven't heard human music."
justlethal: (029)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-07-25 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Gamora continued to study the area as they walked through it, checking out both what was there, and areas to depart. Her interactions with other species had been hostile, to say, at least in the beginning. Thanos didn't go somewhere to have a casual conversation of a cup of alcohol. No, if the Titan was there, it hadn't boded well for the inhabitants of the planet.

"Ah. My companion. He has a thorough interest in his music. That, and these strange stories that he watched growing up."

"He sounds like quite the experience," Lauri-Ell said as she moved to the side of the room and began to toe her boots off. SHe preferred something like sparring when she was barefoot. The feel of sand under her toes reminded her that this was not life-or-death.
justlethal: (027)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-07-27 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
There was, ever so slightly, the hint of a smile with that statement. A shift, a touch of softness, that was gone as soon as it appeared. From the very moment she tried to kick his ass onwards... "He is that."

Regaring her, she arched one eye, although her boots were more of a process. Yet, she bent, working on the buckles and bindings. "Are there many who have been brought here?"
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Kree Passport Agency)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-07-27 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes," she answered. "I believe we exceed forty-five now. That is quite a few in some ways. Some are from my world, or something like it."

Including Quill. If she knew Gamora was thinking of Quill, she would mention the man positively, like how he taught her volleyball. Instead she started to stretch.

"I have heard many tales of the skill of the Gamora of this world. I hope it means your skill will test me greatly!"
justlethal: (017)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-07-30 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Forty five... It had a different perspective depending how you looked at it. It didn't seem like a lot, and yet to know that so many had found themselves brought here with seemingly no awareness of it was troubling enough. Information be damned, Gamora would remain suspicious. "And others you have never heard of?"

The galaxy was huge, there was no denying that. As many places as Gamora had seen, it was but a drop of water in an ocean. Flicking her gaze to her, Gamora studied her for a lingering moment, before shifting to warm up her own muscles. "And who has spoken these tales?"
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-07-30 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"That is correct. From my world there are the twins and Mister Stark. There are some from similar earths like Star Lord and yourself and the Mister Buckys. And then there is everyone else, many of whom seem shocked by non-earthlings being a thing."

Who has spoken them? Lauri-Ell smiles.

"Many people. The Guardians of the Galaxy are heroes!"
justlethal: (pic#15056215)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-08-02 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Gamora has no idea who the twins were, or really any of the names that she said, other than Star Lord. That would be Quill, and there is a slight look of fond exasperation on her face. Well, he appears to have gotten that name to stick, at least here...

Rolling her head slightly side to side, she comments, "I do not believe I am familiar with this Stark or Buckys."

Names, she assumes, although one never can tell. "Back where you are from? Or has Quill been announcing his presence her that greatly that all now know?"
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-08-02 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course he had gotten it stick with Lauri-Ell. She had every reason to idolize the Guardians after all. They were legendary back home, more or less.

"Oh yes, back home he is very known. He is a hero. They are as famous as the Avengers."
justlethal: (033)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-08-04 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Her focus shifted, more interested now in learning of where she was from, and wondering if Peter was aware. Quite possibly. If so, Gamora would likely hear about it from him as well. "The Avengers? I'm unfamiliar with them."

Although perhaps it was something that existed where she came from alone.
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-08-04 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"They are great heroes of Earth," Lauri-Ell answered with a proud smile. "Those who do for their world as the Guardians do for other places. They are a young race yet, and begin to reach well past their star."
justlethal: (pic#15056216)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-08-08 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps I shall meet them one day." Assuming they are around where she was from. Despite everything, there had never been any draw to visit Earth. Had Peter desired it, Gamora would have, but with Thanos, they did currently have enough on their plate, especially after what Ego had done.
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-08-08 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Well yes, Earth is a very low end technology world and the place made its own problems. Yet she found herself intrigued by it anyway. Perhaps it was because of Carol. Actually, yes, it was because of Carol.

"The universe needs the Guardians so much. Earth does not as much. I am not surprised you have not been. But if they meet you, then I fear for the world, to have Avengers and Guardians together."
justlethal: (010)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-08-13 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Her own planet had boasted of little, but it had been home. Her memories of it are few and far between, marred in some places by the day that Thanos came. Those are the easiest, and the most painful.

"The galaxy is a large place, but perhaps one day." She's not entirely certain if Peter would desire to go. His mother had passed, and given what he had learned of his biological father...

"These Avengers. What are they like?"
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-08-13 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
There was little Lauri-Ell could say to such pain, so it was perhaps a mercy that it was not spoken to her. She had never known Hala, and even the great damage suffered by it had still left something for her people to go back to. She was Kree, at the end of the day, and they were a lucky people.

"Perhaps someday," she agreed. "As for the Avengers, I do not know many. But the ones I have met are noble of cause. They wish to protect their world, and sometimes worlds beyond them. Not as much as the Guardians do, but it seems trouble draws itself to Earth in these days. Humans, they shape space now, in their own ways."
justlethal: (pic#15056211)

[personal profile] justlethal 2021-08-15 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then they need all the protection they can get." Especially if what Lauri-Ell said was true. Gamora did wonder after how many, knowing that the Guardians were few. They did what they could, just sometimes it didn't feel like enough, especially after everything that Gamora had done under Thanos.

"Perhaps our paths may cross one day then, and I shall be able to see first hand how they operate."
kree_soldieress: Lauri-Ell from Captain Marvel (Default)

[personal profile] kree_soldieress 2021-08-15 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
“Yes they do. There are many peoples who might wish to take Earth for their own. They are to be lauded for holding off the Kree and Skrull already, on multiple occasions. They are strong people, the humans.”

But also misguided, so very often. Yet they did something that Lauri-Ell truly felt pleased by. They refused to stay down.
