A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Hot Summer Time!

Summer has arrived and you know what that means: It's time to head out and spend some time at the beach, lounging on its bluish, almost purple sand, going for a swim or gathering some of the fat, green lobsters just wandering around the beach. They may be tasty, but remember that their pinch is toxic. It won’t kill you but it will definitely have the pinched body part swelling up and itching like a bad wool sweater.

If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.

Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.

Explore the city!

Here's a map and a bit more description of some of the buildings here.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.

If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

Visit the spaceships!

That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar - Or what remains of them. It's painfully obvious that these ships have crash-landed not too long ago and were taken back to the hangar for repairs. You were assigned to one of them and its doors will open for you and let you enter if you wish. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but as neither of them look as if they will be leaving anytime soon that doesn't really matter either way.

Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?

Try the network!

Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

There be storms...

These power-altering storms keep ravaging parts of the planet every once in a while. No one truly knows where they come from or what to do about them yet, but one of them appears to be approaching. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you rather feel drawn to investigate.

Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Wildcard!

You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking. Quite unlike a gathering of potentially dangerous creatures to encounter. The setting is yours to explore and have fun with!

[ Since Mobius is staring so intensely at the sea, he might eventually notice that there's a shadow moving in the water that seems bigger than any fish has a reason to be. Sometimes it disappears, as if whatever it is goes swimming deeper looking for something, but it's never gone for long.

And then something, purple and blue breaks the surface of the water, heading towards the shore until the creature spots the man. Alberto freezes, green eyes widening, and he quickly disappears under the waves. ]

[Mobius loves the water. It's soothing, calming, mesmerizing. Huge. Terrifying. Especially the depth of what could lie in, well, uh, the depths. He's allowing himself to drift off mentally with the rhythm of the waves, then he starts to notice the dark shadow.]

Hm, what might you be?

[Whatever it is, it's vaguely humanoid, and it's spotted him. Mobius grins, waving at it.]

Don't have to hide on my account!

[ The oceans on this planet are like the surface, new and strange, and that's why Alberto wanted to get familiar with them. It's a relief to know there is water here where he can go swimming or hide, but he should have been more careful about the land dwellers.

He can hear Mobius shout even underwater and well, that's not the reaction he was expecting. He's not angrily shouting or accusing Alberto of being a sea monster. And he had waved at him before. Uh, that's new. Maybe the man already knew about sea monsters or was also from Portorosso.

Swimming towards some nearby rocks and moving to the surface, Alberto peeks from behind them to give the man another look. He's dressed funny, and he's got no harpoon on him. Not a fisherman, then. Alberto figures he can always swim away if things go south, so he makes himself somewhat more visible.]

Hello. Are you new here too?

[....fascinating. This guy - this kid? - looks so cool. And he's clearly more comfortable in the water than Mobius is. Mobius'd love to be able to scoot about like that.]

Yeah, only been here a day or so. Don't think I've ever seen anyone of your species before! I'm human. Name's Mobius.

[ 'Kid' is the right word, he's only around 14 years old. And thus, far more curious and bold that it might be wise. He would have hidden immediately if he were in his world, but since he's a little confused about being dragged to a whole different planet, trying to figure out what is going on seems more important. ]

I don't think there are other sea creatures around, I've been looking but without any luck. [ Of course, they might be hiding. After a moment of doubt, green eyes studying Mobius to make sure the man isn't going to try anything funny, Alberto lifts himself a little more over the rock. He's very much all blue and purple, with fins on each side of his face, in his forearms, and with a thick long tail covered in scales. He's also wearing human clothes, unlike the other monsters that can be spotted around Tembla. ]

I'm Alberto, I got here yesterday too. This world is very weird. Did you want to go swimming?

[ He looks at Mobius clothes again, eyebrows slightly raised, as if questioning his fashion choices for a day at the beach. ]

Ah, hope you find someone. It's fun meeting people who're different, but it's nice to see people like yourself, too, isn't it.

[Mobius carefully holds himself still. Not frozen, just not advancing on Alberto. Doesn't want to intimidate him.]

Hey there, Alberto. Do you live in the water all the time?

It seems real weird to me, yeah! I do, but I'm gonna have to find something to wear. Can't get my suit wet.

Yeah, both options are good. I like meeting new people. [ If Mobius really doesn't mind meeting creatures who aren't human, that makes Alberto feel more at ease. So far the man has been nice, and he really doesn't look threatening, and the boy finds himself smiling. ]

Nah, not all the time. The surface has a lot more fun things to see and do. Like listening to music or riding Vespas. Perhaps I can find one of those here. [ He looks at the man's clothes up and down again, giving a nod. So that's a suit. ] Couldn't you just take it off? The water isn't that cold. If you don't know how to swim, I can help you.

[ He's seen humans in the water before, and he wouldn't call what they do 'swimming'. It was embarrassing. ]

That's good. You kind of have to here, huh. Certainly out of my comfort zone.

Vespas... [Mobius' eyes brighten at that. Not as good as aquatic vehicles, but they sound fun, too.]

I thiiiink I have a swimsuit around somewhere. Or just some shorts. That'd do. Is it not cold by your standards, or by weaselly wussy human standards?

Yeah, I know what's that like. [ There doesn't seem to be other sea monsters around, or anybody from Portorosso he knows, which makes Alberto more than a little worried. ] So far the people I've met have been nice, and you're a land dweller, so you shouldn't have any problem.

[ No reason for humans to attack other humans, right? Why would they do that? ~~Ah, blessed children's ignorance.~~

They're the vest thing ever invented. You can go anywhere with them! And they go super fast. Alberto doesn't know what a jet ski is, otherwise he would absolutely compare it to an aquatic Vespa and be just as in love with the idea as Mobius is. The boy laughs at that last bit, fins shaking a little with the movement, and shakes his head. ]

Not too cold for you, promise. Try dipping your toes first?
