SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Hot Summer Time!
If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.
Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

And no sooner had he half nodded at the vote of confidence and then the other was closer and thrusting out his hand. Well he'd shaken hands before though he hadn't done that gesture here as of yet. So he smiled and clasped the other's hand since it had been initiated.
"Terra."
no subject
"Terra, eh? Nice and earthy. Good to meet you. Got any questions or you think you wanna have more of a look around first?"
no subject
He was wondering if there were people to assist here because that's what he was used to. And if people needed help he would do just that.
no subject
He pulled out his tablet from a belt pouch, holding it up. "You get one of these? It's got a map of things here."
no subject
"A bar?" he couldn't help but ask. That was an interesting thing in his own mind, but first he wanted to look around and see who needed help.
Anything else he wanted to say got pushed to the back of his mind as the tablet came out. It was a strange looking device and vaguely called to mind the Gummi phone Aqua showed him briefly and he shook his head. "A map? No..I didn't get one of those yet."
To him maps were normally in treasure chests.
no subject
"Yep. Can't do much if the place is a mess, right? And if we're stuck staying here, we can't be living in broken down places on scraps." He showed Terra the tablet and the funny icons before tapping at the map function, offering it to him to look at the screen. "Eh, one'll probably show up for you sooner or later. But here- this is a general map of the city."
no subject
He really couldn't make heads or tails out of the map at first, but the more he looked at it, the more it made sense even though it was still so new to him. He had to learn this though and tried to memorize the whole thing.
Blue eyes then went from the screen to Cayde. "Guess there is a lot to explore."
no subject
"I'd recommend sticking to the city for exploring though. There's a lot of wood out there but no real guarantee that anything worthwhile's out there. I traveled for like, two days straight out into the woods once? But all I found was more woods. And you have to make your way back the same way you went. If we had sparrows and jumpships or something it might make things way easier, but otherwise we're stuck to doing things the old fashioned way."
no subject
However, he was just going to have to see for himself at some point.
For now, Terra decided to go back to an earlier topic. "By the map it looked like there were sections of the city. Does the whole thing need repairs or are there others worse off?"
no subject
He consulted his map again, giving a nod. "There's like...five sectors...ish? Easier to work out where things are that way. It's pretty random as to how much has been restored. I'd say the city center's the most worked on since it has important places like the hotel and a library and hospital, but even then it's not like we've been able to restore all buildings to pristine levels. Just cleared up more rubble than other places, less overgrown plants and more spaces suited for people to make use of right away."
no subject
He never told Aqua or Ven or they'd worry and he'd worried them more than enough already to last the rest of their lives. There were the cold sweats he'd wake up in too but those too wouldn't ever get reported to his friends either. They were his problem, not theirs.
But now as he turned his attention back to Cayde and the map, his hand came up under his chin. "So if I just got here, more people might arrive after me, right? Not everyone can live in a hotel." He just wanted to throw himself into work and get his mind off of the nagging feeling of possibly being separated from his friends again for a long time because he really hated that idea. And he didn't want to be the cause of any more of their pain.
no subject
That part was a little frustrating to him, and he had mixed feelings about it all, even if they weren't completely sorted out. He shook his head, giving another shrug. "There's other places you can stay. Hotel's just the most obvious. Lotta space left unclaimed so if it's open, you're likely welcome to it. Vanth's fixing up housing for people too, if you need help on that end."
no subject
"Vanth? Who's that?" he asked after listening to the explanation. He wasn't sure he wanted to stay in a hotel, but he would if he had to. It would be better to have a sort of base of operations, but he did want to keep exploring. Finding his own space was going to be an important thing for him while he was here though. So he folded his arms across his chest and looked at Cayde. "But if I'm understanding right, I can just find a space and stay there?" This was Terra making sure he had the 'rules' straight in his mind.
Just living anywhere would be pretty foreign.
no subject
"Vanth- Cobb Vanth. He's got experience with running a town I guess you could say, so he was pretty eager to get right in there and start throwing together places that people could move into." He nodded. "You got it. Not a bad deal- you don't have to pay for the space but you might have to clean things up and all. Still, nothing too bad."
no subject
He did take note of the name though. "So all I have to do is find him and I can start to find a decent place to settle into." While he was here anyway. So he looked at Cayde. "Is that what you did too in order to find a place and set up your bar?"
no subject
Cayde chuckled. "What, fix things up? Oh yeah. Scoped out a nice place, cleared out what I didn't need, cleaned up what needed to be cleaned up. Took some time getting things together for it, fixing up the walls, throwing together furniture that'd fit normal people height instead of tall Agrii, but it was something to do."
no subject
The chuckle was unexpected but nice to hear. But of course it raised questions. "How..did you know what place to pick out?" It was still confusing for a guy who grew up in a castle and never really had to worry or think about things like this.
no subject
He looked over his shoulder, back at Terra, a metal brow arching at the question. "Wait, you're serious? It's nothing complicated. Mostly? You just go with your gut. Me? I like high places and nice views, so the clocktower was practically a given. For the bar? That was more of just stumbling across a place that looked interesting enough to work with. You like exploring? Just do what you do and I guarantee you'll find somewhere that speaks to you."
no subject
He sighed, knowing he didn't want to make a life here, but he'd do this for now and just keep trying to go home. So he just looked back at the other when he was asked if he was serious. Well he was serious most of the time but he nodded. Picking out a place to live had never been a thing he had to do but now he had to.
With the other's words about going with his gut, Terra smiled slightly. "I think I'll start with looking around the lake."
no subject
Cayde was beginning to figure that out about Terra. So serious for someone so young. He'd need to learn to lighten up some. At least the smile was a good start.
"You do that, then. At least you'll have lots of fun neighbors," he grinned.
no subject
And while he wasn't sure at all about neighbours, Terra figured he'd taken up enough of this kind person's time so he nodded. "Thanks, I'll see what I can do, it was nice to meet you."
no subject
Cayde gave Terra a nod then. "Alrighty. See you around, then. Don't be a stranger."
