FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Now Temba has decidedly fewer trees than Sh'Ka. They are also much smaller and may not necessarily of the same species. The leaves in Temba fall gently. The leaves in Sh'Ka, however? They turn to stone while still attached to their branches and suddenly fall to the floor from high, high up above.
Thud.
They shatter once they hit the ground, which may explain why you haven't really seen any leaf-shaped rocks around. You still may want to try and avoid getting hit too much by this slowly increasing hail of stone leaves.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Richie pauses for a moment because something is niggling at the back of his head that is telling him Eddie is different. The wound that was scarred over on his cheek is bleeding again. There is new scars on his chest and Eddie suddenly can't remember that their friends aren't here. Richie isn't sure what happened but he has to verify what Eddie remembers and what he doesn't before going in and starting to talk about gross things like feelings again.
He coughs to cover the word he swallowed and then mimics the breathing Eddie should do.
"Okay. Keep going. No talking. I don't wanna hear your voice until we have your heartbeat somewhere below 'cardiac arrest'."
no subject
Finally, somehow, Eddie's heartbeat settles into something manageable but he still looks fucking tense and uneasy.
"You've got to tell me what the fuck is going on, Rich? I'm so confused right now."
no subject
And that gives Richie the second he needs in order to think himself. He goes to get two drinks and tries to just calm his own mind down. Eddie is here. That is what is most important. He's here and he's safe. Or, at least, he's alive and whole. And if he is different.... If Eddie doesn't remember...before... Well. At least they had time.
He comes back and pushes a glass of red berry juice at Eddie.
"Drink that and tell me what you remember before walking here." He has a suspicion and needs to test it. "You...you woke up at a fountain, right? Found a glowing orb?"
no subject
So, Eddie lets go and watches Richie instead as he walks away. He swallows hard and looks to the table, tapping his fingers nervously until a glass of red juice is pushed in front of him. There is a beat, breathing hard before reaching a shaky out to take the juice and take a needed sip.
"Ye—yeah, I remember. I remember seeing all that shit but none of it made sense to me. I thought it was some trick by Pennywise."
no subject
This Eddie wasn't the one before. Wasn't his. God. How could someone be so relieved and so heartbroken at the same time?
Richie exhales shakily and pastes on a smile. It's not Eddie's fault this happened and it is still Eddie. Still his best friend. But God....It's hard now not to want to reach out and stroke his hair or his cheek. Instead he downs half of his glass in almost a single swallow. He exhales again.
"Yeah. So, no. It's not a trick. This place is a planet that's called Agra 10. You and me? We got snatched from our world and brought here along with all the other folk you see walking around. They watch us and we are helping them put together their planet, I guess. A lot of other shit is happening too, but that's the basics. And back home? Everyone is fine." Well, not Eddie, but we're gonna skip past that. "Everyone is happy and Pennywise kicks the bucket. So...yeah. That's the Reader's Digest..."
no subject
Richie speaking gets Eddie looking up, frowning but paying attention and nodding slowly as he takes another needed sip of his drink.
"And I've been here before," he says quietly as his gaze flickers to Rich again. "I've been here before and don't remember. That's why you're acting weird."
no subject
Richie swallows the rest of his drink down and leans back in his chair before feeling able to answer. "Yeah," he admits. "Yeah, you were here just a few days ago, actually. Were here for a few months before disappearing. And. Yeah... Poof. You're back."
Back with no memories and back to square one. Richie exhales a little and shrugs as though to convince them both that it doesn't matter. That the fact that they'd had their first date and first kiss and Eddie remembers nothing about it was fine. Not that he'll ever know that happened, of course. With Richie's luck this version of Eddie is straight as a rod. There are different universes, after all. Who knows?
Richie needs more alcohol.
"It's all good, man. We got you up to speed and comfy around here once. We can do it again."
