WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Winter in Temba and Sh'Ka
And it still keeps snowing.
Over in Sh'Ka, a similar picture has been painted. But being situated within all these tall trees paints a somewhat different picture. A more icy one. All the by now leaf-free trees are covered in a thick layer of ice, as are Sh'Ka's stone-carved buildings. The wind here is harsher than it is in Temba, which has been comparably wind-free.
Please try not to slip and hurt yourself while marveling at either city.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

"I think that is a fair assessment given the circumstances." she ceases to smile, frowning as if pained instead. The Empire. Everything she and others had done... Gone. Lost.
"Any organization headed by Sheev Palpatine won't take kindly to Jedi." and yes she does forgo using his title because he is wholly undeserving of it, "But the Force needs you. For balance. I know it doesn't seem fair, but you have been given a gift. Don't let an evil man or his henchmen dictate how you use it."
no subject
"I know. I know, it just...took me a push to really figure that out. To remember what I was supposed to be doing as a Jedi." Cal snorts lightly. "It's still hard. Right before I ended up here, I wasn't in the best place. Just when I thought I was back on my feet, something else happened and it felt like they just got swept right out from under me again."
He lifts his head, indicating the city center ahead, gesturing with his free hand towards the diner. "I've been here a while since then, figured out a lot of things. But I think I'm more sure of who I am now."
no subject
It's a lot for her to shoulder and listening to Cal is easier than facing her demons.
"I can't say I've been in your exact position, but that feeling of always being knocked down has happened to me too. Many times." her voice breaks, "We have to stand up. There are too many lives depending on us."
And there are too many reasons to not give up.
"I can tell you about the Jedi I knew if that...helps? I worked with them closely for many years."
no subject
Cal slips a hand over the one she's hooked his arm with, feeling the need to bolster those words with a more physical gesture, a reassuring squeeze.
"Have to keep moving forward. And to trust in the Force," he says. But giving up is never an option, not so long as you're breathing, able to do something.
Once they reach the diner, he slips his hand from hers to get the door, ushering her into the much warmer building. BD-1 hops down from his back, skittering inside to shake off whatever snow had managed to cling to him.
"...if you want to?" Cal replies in belated response to Padmé's offer as he brushes back his hood. "I'll understand if you'd rather talk about something else though."
no subject
"Can you sense the Force here?" she regrets not having that sensitivity, though she thought, for a time, she had done well enough on her own in the political sphere. How naive!
Padmé gives him a small smile of gratitude and steps into the building. She makes a point of staying close to BD-1. It would be upsetting if anyone ran into the little droid.
"I'm not sure what I want." she answers after a long pause, "Have you heard of Anakin Skywalker?"
no subject
"I can," he says, nodding. "Although there are some cases when it gets blocked off. I'm not sure why."
BD-1 seems right at home, hopping up onto one of the tables. He turns about, wiggling gleefully as he waits for the two to join him.
"Not sure who wouldn't have heard of him among the Jedi," Cal says. Skywalker had been something of a celebrity although his reputed boldness was always tempered with the teachings of masters to remind their eager padawans that the Skywalker methods wouldn't necessarily work for everyone.
no subject
"Could someone or something be hiding details from you?"
Why else would a Force user be blocked? She can't imagine that happening accidentally considering, as she understands it, the Force is all around them.
BD-1 is too cute and she brushes some snow off of him with her sleeve. Water can make parts rusty after all!
Then she takes a deep breath and searches for the right words. Keeping her marriage a secret isn't important anymore. She doesn't care if the entire galaxy knows.
"First... Has he been here?" her voice is tight and she sits stiffly, "Second... You should know... He is my husband."
no subject
"Have you gotten the rundown about this place, the general idea of why we're here and who's asked us to help?" Cal asks. It'd be easier to know where he should begin with any explanations.
BD-1 borbles his thanks at Padmé, glancing down as he suddenly wonders if he's making puddles with whatever snow had clung on to him. Cal flashes the droid a brief grin as he moves to take a seat. It vanishes quickly as he looks towards Padmé again, starting to shake his head in response to her first question before pausing altogether at the revelation added. He blinks.
"...you're married to Master Skywalker?"
no subject
A similarity, perhaps, that could point them towards the cause. She glances down at the table, the warmth making her feel lethargic.
"Yes. I...understand what is being asked of us. But I'm not sure what I can offer." she feels like a worn thread ready to snap. What does she have to give anyone? Except...
Her family. She can find strength for them. Always.
"I am." her gaze rises to meet Cal's, determined, "We were married in 22 in the Varykino lake retreat. The ceremony was secret. We kept it hidden from everyone. Master Obi-Wan eventually learned the truth and he kept our secret for us too."
no subject
It sounds like Padmé and Anakin had been married for a good portion of the war. That it had been a secret was hardly surprising, considering the Order's views. Cal's brows lift at mention of Obi-Wan, but he otherwise doesn't look too shocked. He does look mildly troubled, the expression a flicker as he meets the young woman's gaze. "That must have been difficult..." he says as he thinks about it. Keeping your relationship a secret, and in the midst of conflict. He'd heard that Padmé Amidala was a strong woman and speaking to her now he has no reason to doubt it.
