WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Winter in Temba and Sh'Ka
And it still keeps snowing.
Over in Sh'Ka, a similar picture has been painted. But being situated within all these tall trees paints a somewhat different picture. A more icy one. All the by now leaf-free trees are covered in a thick layer of ice, as are Sh'Ka's stone-carved buildings. The wind here is harsher than it is in Temba, which has been comparably wind-free.
Please try not to slip and hurt yourself while marveling at either city.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

no subject
There's no recognition nor concern that colors the young man's features. If there's anything associated with face or name, he doesn't know it. His smile is genuine, as warm as the invitation of the open door to the diner. "Nice to meet you, Bruno," Cal says with a nod.
no subject
The diner is an odd place. At least it’s certainly not something Bruno has ever seen before. Even the most obscure of his visions don’t come close and he looks around both wondering and curious.
“It’s… Very empty here.” He points out after short while. Is that a good or a bad thing?
no subject
"There aren't a whole lot of people here," Cal explains as he goes to check the fire. "The city's been abandoned for years, but the Agrii haven't given up on trying to come back to it. Unfortunately it's not so simple, so they figured they can bring in people that can help them out. They're...not so great about asking first."
no subject
The more quiet inspection of the counter comes to an end, at least for the time being, when Bruno picks up the salt shaker, easily figured out what it is and exhales with notable relief while pouring some of the mineral into his palm just to anxiously toss it over his shoulder. A little luck can’t hurt, right?
no subject
BD-1 trails Bruno from afar, sticking to tabletops as he watches the man curiously. He tilts his head as the man tosses salt.
"There might be coffee in the kitchen, or tea," Cal offers. "Preference?"
no subject
Bruno has been running his fingers along the edge of the counter thoughtfully when Cal brings up the potential presence of something warm to drink, which earns the young man Bruno's attention. "Coffee? I know how to make coffee!" Is his initial reaction. Maybe a somewhat excited one. He may not be able to cook actual food, having been scavenging through the kitchen of his home while no one was around, but coffee? That's not something someone leaves leftovers around of.
So without awaiting any further words from Cal, Bruno is off to the back of the diner where very obviously the kitchen is located and starts trying to find what he needs. "Just leave it to me!" He exclaims, not yet aware of just how unfamiliar most of the tools and devices in this kitchen will be turning out for him.
no subject
He looks at BD-1 at the droid's inquisitive borble before casting a glance back towards the kitchen. "I hope so, anyway. Let's... just check in on him."
no subject
He does his best to hide his confusion by opening a random cupboards only to be met with a blender. For a solid moment Bruno considers the blender, then exhales and slowly closes the cupboard again before raising his brows in Cal's direction, expression almost pained. "I don't understand your kitchen."
no subject
"Try that cabinet there," he says, pointing towards one at the end behind Bruno. "I think that's where the coffee is, anyway."
no subject
"Got it." He announces, then opens some more cabinets. "Now there must be a kettle here somewhere. Can't make coffee without boiling water!" Unfortunately there is no chance he will recognize any electric device any something of potential use.
no subject
Cal happens to glance over just as Bruno begins to close one of them. "Oh- that one," he says as he catches a glimpse of one such device.
no subject
No. Not quite the same. He thinks.
With that decision made, Bruno shrugs an "Okay." and turns to fiddle with the kettle while heading to the backdoor of the diner he has spotted earlier so he can fill the kettle with nothing other than snow. Because snow is water that just has to melt.
no subject
Cal smothers a laugh at that as he casts his little friend a look and a shrug. Clearly wherever Bruno came from, he's not used to technology. And then both of them are looking after the man as he turns and heads out the backdoor. The Jedi blinks. "-Bruno?" he starts, but after a moment just lets him be. At least the guy seems certain of his steps, so Cal will leave him to it. And it's not like Bruno's wrong...
no subject
"You don't happen to know where the fire wood is kept?" He asks, turning his head to look at Cal.
no subject
He opens a small panel just above the kettle's base to pull out the cord stored inside. "You can just set it there on the counter. This end? See those holes in the wall there? -don't stick any bare metal in there, by the way, or else you'll get a shock. But you can plug this in, and it'll serve as the power. Like...an internal fire. It'll all be kept to this device though."
no subject
He casts a wide-eyed look at the power outlet. "You have fire in your walls?!" That can't be normal. "How isn't everything burning!"
no subject
He steps over to see if Bruno will relinquish the kettle so he can demonstrate what he'd explained earlier to sets it down and plugs it in. BD-1 jets himself up onto the counter beside it, tweedling before he turns his head aside to start projecting a schematic of the kettle, trying to be helpful. "Ah, BeeDee, I don't think-"
no subject
The little droid hopping up on the counter gets a concerned look from Bruno and he backs away for a moment with a little shriek when the projection starts. But as no sudden flames erupt from BD-1, Bruno falls immediately silent and his attention is glued to the projection now hanging in the air and so much like his visions, yet somehow clearer while at the same time so much harder to understand. Somehow feeling drawn towards it, Bruno raises a hand in an attempt to touch the projection, hoping - hoping it doesn't feel like moving sand. "I- I'm not the only one seeing this...?" He asks, hesitantly.
no subject
Nothing but air as Bruno tries to touch the image. As his hand interrupts it, the image follows the curves of his hands and fingers where it meets, but otherwise remains where it's displayed.
no subject
The smile he tries of offer is a strained one and he ends up gesturing vaguely at the kettle, the projection, the droid and the entire oven. "Is- Everything here like- this?"
no subject
BD-1 beeps and lets the holoimage vanish, then hops as he turns about, wandering over to the kettle where he eyes it before reaching a foot up to tap it its button to turn it on. Boop.
no subject
"Why can't we leave?" he eventually asks even though the glowing orb has already given him the answer to that question.
no subject
"...someone wants to keep us here," he says, leaning back against the counter, unable to keep a frown from forming as his brow furrows. "They're linked to the storms that are keeping the Agrii from returning home. And unfortunately they don't mean any good for our being here, but the Agrii genuinely do need help." He sighs. "And I know it's not fair, but until we figure out a way to get to the bottom of things, the best we can do is look out for each other."
