SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
Despite the sparkling cover, young plants have begun to sprout, young green stems peeking out between pink and red and purple.
Sh'Ka, also, has been freed of its more icy coverage. The glitter here is a lot finer and the layer of it covering the overgrown city not nearly as thick as in Temba. Instead, the glittery mist every move brushes up in the air hangs there much longer and seems reluctant, even, to settle back down.
Despite those differences both cities are currently very, very sparkly...

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Temba. On the planet Agra Ten. More notes, more files. Information to categorize and give the AI is sense of purpose back. Unable to connect to any of the home databases that gave him a sense of security, JARVIS felt like he was... well, floundering a little. Attempting to put the new unknown chaos back into order.
"That is unfortunate. Mr. Felwinter, I am presuming there is no way to leave this planet to get back to my own, is there? Back to Earth, specifically. As comfortable as this suit is to wear," the suit seems to look down at the metal hands that move under the AI's command, then he looks back to Felwinter. "It fits Mr. Stark far better and I miss the comfort of my database."
no subject
His stance eases just slightly, but he remains guarded as he resumes answering JARVIS's other inquiries, shaking his head. "Although there are shuttles available to us, they do not function unless the Agrii allow it, so I have been told. Otherwise we are rather stuck."
no subject
"I am his first line of defense for his system, and for him, essentially. That is, where I am from I fill that role. I cannot do that for him while stuck here." And without his connection to his Tony, that's what has the AI feeling like something was missing. For his entire life all he has known at the base of it, is Tony.
"Also unfortunate. Who are the Agrii? Is there a place where I met be able to connect to speak with them? Or just go see them in metaphorical person?"
no subject
"The Agrii are the original inhabitants of this city. There is little enough known about them that isn't provided in the datapoint in the city square, as they do not show themselves in person. I can count the number of times they have appeared on the local network on one hand. As I understand, correspondence is not always guaranteed when trying to reach out to them, and yet they remain hopeful that those 'he rows' they have brought here to their home will help to restore it for them."
no subject
"I suppose they have no physical location then for me to meet with them at. There are just many unfortunate things here, aren't there."

The suit seems to look over Felwinter, despite not needing to. "What sort of world do you hail from, sir? Is it this one?"
no subject
The sound he makes is an amused one then, a faint snort that echoes just as much as the tinny tone of his voice, although it's easy to think that would be due to the helmet. "Far from it. I too am from Earth," he replies.
no subject
"Your Earth must be quite different from mine, or you come from a remote culture that I've not been able to access with your interesting... garb." Yes, that was a good word for it. Not insulting.
no subject
"One does what one can with whatever one finds available to them," Felwinter replies. "By my understanding there are perhaps several different iterations of Earth at least, represented by those brought here. I assume if you are of the same Earth as Tony Stark, then you do not know of the Golden Age, or the Traveler and the Risen?"
no subject
"I do not know of the Golden Age, the Risen, or the Traveler though. Which brings me to the conclusion that they're not from my version of Earth. I presume those are from your interation?"
no subject
A nod then. "I am most likely not from the same Earth as you know. Perhaps it is a good thing. The time I come from is not a kind one for humanity."
no subject
A pause as the suit regards Felwinter. "I'm presuming there is a Mr. Stark here that asked if he could take you apart? That is rather rude in my opinion."
He took a couple of careful steps towards the other, hands open and palm up to show he had nothing in them. Okay so the gauntlets could fire off if he wanted to, but JARVIS didn't plan on doing that at least. "Is your Earth one of the ones you listed?"
no subject
As JARVIS moves, the warlord watches him like a hawk, though he remains where he is himself. "My Earth is of all those I have mentioned. The Golden Age came of the discovery of the Traveler. New technology was created, humans ventured beyond their homeworld and throughout the Sol System. ...but all they have created is now in ruins. So the Traveler has brought forth the Risen, for some reason, from the ashes of humanity."
no subject
The Golden Age. The Traveler. The Risen. "I will be very honest, that all sounds quite a bit like something I would get from a piece of media. But I suppose I cannot speak too loudly, being an advanced AI that's currently 'living' from a metal suit." The suit stops, feet away from Felwinter to be polite. No need to crowd on the man's space. "I am sorry that your world has become like that. My world has the Avengers to help protect it."
no subject
Felwinter slowly reaches up, removing his helmet to reveal the skull-like metal features of his robotic face. He shakes his head. "Perhaps that is what my world needs now. Protectors rather than warlords. What are these...Avengers?" He would be lying if he did not admit he liked the sound of the name, just a little.
no subject
And he's only seen images after coming back online, but the suit seems to stop. That... that face looks hauntingly familiar to Ultron. The physical form he had given himself after decimating JARVIS inside of the system. After taking out Tony's first line of defense.
But this wasn't Ultron. This was Felwinter. And so far the man had proven trust by not harming him. The suit relaxes a little. "They are Earth's protectors, formed after the Battle of New York City where they defeated Loki and retrieved the Tesseract to return to Asgard."
no subject
There's just the faintest creak of leather as he eases his gloved fingers from where he had started to curl them into a fist, seeing JARVIS relax.
"Earth's protectors..." Brought together by a battle, a common goal for a common need. "Are there many of these...Avengers?" Protecting the Earth sounds like a big job, after all.
no subject
"Enough to keep the Earth safe from an invading army over New York City in 2012 at least. Six of them: Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, and Hulk. And then there were smaller scale ordeals, such as the Mandarin that Mr. Stark and Miss Potts dealt with, but overall... they work as a team to try and keep it safe. Is there anyone like that from the Earth you are from, sir?"
no subject
Is there anyone like that from the Earth you are from, sir? The warlord looks towards the ground in thought. "As things are now, warlords either act independently or gather together to take advantage of the weak and powerless." His fingers tap against the edge of his helmet. "...I have heard rumors of a few who have deviated from such ways and come together. Perhaps..."
no subject
JARVIS moves a little closer, more at a meandering walk instead of something imposing. Once close enough, the suit... sits. It looks like a metal person pondering some sort of philosophical idea as it sits there. "Warlords are unheard of in my time on earth. Though the ones you speak of that deviated... perhaps those are to form the Avengers of your world."
no subject
His burning gaze twitches back towards the suit of armor as it moves to sit, once again forcing himself to ease from his tension. "Yes. Perhaps. They could make a difference."
