SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
Despite the sparkling cover, young plants have begun to sprout, young green stems peeking out between pink and red and purple.
Sh'Ka, also, has been freed of its more icy coverage. The glitter here is a lot finer and the layer of it covering the overgrown city not nearly as thick as in Temba. Instead, the glittery mist every move brushes up in the air hangs there much longer and seems reluctant, even, to settle back down.
Despite those differences both cities are currently very, very sparkly...

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

"You talk kind of like Jon." The accent at least. Which warmed her to him. "Are you from Earth too? Most of the people here are from Earth."
no subject
Like someone who was actually standing next to him instead of being there inside of his head? That was something he didn't need to say aloud, but it was there.
If Marc didn't recognize her, then that meant they were in the clear. And her mentioning people from Earth made Steven perk. "Is that right? That's...surprising. I didn't think there would be anyone else except me and- "
Marc. Except he should say that, he'd look crazy if he did.
Was she an alien? She didn't look like one. It was just her ears - just as Marc pointed out - and it led to a terrible follow-up question. "-Are you a cosplayer?"
no subject
no subject
"Most people are. And it's such a dumb name. Earth." Seriously.
Catra was quickly distracted from her teasing by the follow up question head tilting and those ears swiveling. "What's that?"
no subject
Small fact aside, his expression dropped when he realized she was honestly asking what a cosplayer was.
"-Oh." Embarrassment had him backpedaling to explain. "Oh, those are real- sorry, I thought- you know." He made a motion near his own ears, like he was lifting an imaginary earpiece off of his head. "You're not pretending?"
no subject
He paced anxiously before sweeping a hand in a cutting motion as his reflection turned back towards Steven, snapping his fingers. Can we get back on track here? Let me drive.
no subject
"No? Why would I be pretending? Are you?" She moved to try and catch his ear.
no subject
Whatever trace of apology he held in his brow was quickly replaced by surprise when she got his ear, and he made the mistake of getting distracted by the finger-snapping and meeting Marc's impatient gaze amid his floundering.
It was all very convoluted and he wanted to say more. That wasn't happening, however.
no subject
"-aAAck!" It was still somehow more surprising than painful but the reaction was quick, reflexive as his own hand was quickly snapping out to grasp Catra's wrist. His grip loosened almost immediately as he caught himself, staring at the cat-eared girl with a more warier expression than he'd been wearing a moment ago.
no subject
He was met with almost the same wary eyes stare, Catra not sure what had just happened, but it was strange.
"...all right, fine. I won't touch."
no subject
-Marc, no! He tried to yell. He didn't want to be in here, but he had no choice. She's fine, just apologize!
no subject
"So is all this for real?" he asked, stepping away from Catra to have a look for himself at what the ship had to offer. His accent had vanished entirely, sounding more like a certain pilot, maybe more rough around the edges. "This thing actually fly?"
no subject
The accent was gone. The posture, the mannerisms...even after such a short time it was hard to miss the change.
"...why are you talking like that now?"
no subject
no subject
He heard Catra's question and paused, sighing loudly as he dropped his head against his arm. "'s complicated, kid. Don't worry about it." Pushing himself away from the wall, his eyes briefly met his reflection's before he forced one foot in front of the other again, stepping towards one of the open hatches. He took in the sleeping arrangements, and if the available beds were anything to go by, it didn't look like the ship was made for a very big crew. Half-tempted as he was to just collapse into one, he made himself turn around to step out again, so long as he wasn't impeded by the girl.
"You ever been on these when they did? Where're you from, Catra?" he added in afterthought as he recalled her name. "Obviously not Earth, given the, you know, reaction."
no subject
"I'm from Etheria."
no subject
The thought of rest was inviting and he would have given anything for a long, uninterrupted sleep. But he perked, distracted by Catra's original place of residence.
Wait, Etheria? Why does that sound similar to-
no subject
Who in their right mind would want to stick around after they'd been brought here against their will?
no subject
no subject
Those are some prime choices for field trips, he commented, glancing Catra's way. I suppose free transportation between cities is better than letting them sit in a hangar until the next long flight?
no subject
"Wait, so there's more than one city? Anyone in that one or is it the same as this?" he asked.
no subject
"Yeah, Sh'ka. It's kind of like here, but...more rocks? Most people stay here. I think a couple people might live out there because they want to be alone, but everyone else just goes out there for supplies some times. Or to explore I guess. There's a train that goes there too. Just there and back."
no subject
But he perked again. A train? If flying this bird falls through, we need to try that.
no subject
"Guess that's an option if this place gets dull," Marc said with a shrug, not very committed to the idea, but it was something to keep in mind either way. "How much have people explored over in...Shaka?" Maybe there was something worthwhile to find there.
no subject
"Why did you think I was pretending before?"
