June IC Announcements

Starting this month there will be a minor change in how monthly announcements take place. First one to go out will be your OOC Announcements. We do very much advise everyone to read this post.

Meanwhile this is the second post: our June IC Announcements. IC Announcements will include any information about changes going on in setting (seasonal changes, new fun things to play with, etc), pending events (event drop dates, hints on what events will be, etc), and anything else we figure will be important to note IC, including reminders in a general sense if we see something getting forgotten a lot (like that Agra 10 has a 30 hour day). We also encourage our players to see this IC Announcements post as a way to plot/plan related to events, player plots, or just general exploration/life on Temba. So, with that news out of the way, let's see what's interesting this month in Temba!

✧ CALIBRATIONS ENDING ✧

Calibrations runs through June 10th. On the 11th all characters trapped in Calibrations will be released back into Temba. Once exiting, a character will not be able to reenter the space. If a character left their clothes behind there in favor of the offered options in Calibrations, they will find their original outfit clean and back at whatever space they reside in normally. Their communicator will be on them once they step out, right in hand. Everything else they might have had on them will be back at their main residence.

As has been determined before by Cayde and Billy, it will not be able to destroy the door to the Calibrations down in the tunnel, but that doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to make the attempt. Repeatedly. As creatively as any character may wish at that. Just let the mods know in the questions comment below if you are attempting to do this, in case the method being used might have other repercussions.

That said, the close of the event does not mean that people may not tag this event. You're welcome to keep backtagging or even tag anew if the other players still want to play. There is no OOC close for this, just an IC end date.

✧ JUNE SETTING CHANGES ✧

Whether returning to Temba from Sh'Ka, or coming out of Calibrations, characters will find that summer has arrived. The temperatures are hotter, there's sun for more of the thirty hours of the day than normal, and it seems to be a time for growth. A lot of growth. Wait, isn't spring normally when growth happened? Well, it's definitely happening now, in Sh'Ka too, though it's starting slowly. Paths that are well cut maybe growing up a bit faster than expected in Temba, new trees picking up height a bit faster than you expected in Sh'Ka, the landscaping drones at Sh'Ka's estate coming out and being more busy than earlier.

There's even some new growth near the Jedi Temple, where once the Jedi present would tend to the plants. But it's just the lushness of summer, and it should be enjoyed while one can. The good news for those who are a bit overheated or tired of the plant life, well they are always welcome to head south out of Temba to head for the beach. But that's really up to the He Rows! Why is that? Well June is a plot and event free month. The fun characters may find is their own to determine. Perhaps life has decided to let up a bit given how hard the last month was. Perhaps fate is just kind.

Technically they were trying to cave in the tunnel because I don't think there was a door. Either way, it'd clear itself up again the next time he checked, and Cayde made the attempt several times after. You know. Just to be sure.

Lark

Well, I see no reason to not do this, to pave the way!

So, let's plot with Lark for June. Let's be honest here, Lark is very annoyed that most of her people got themselves messed up. Do you know how much she worried about you?

If you have a character who has more than one past CR interaction with Lark who was in Calibrations for any period of time, you're eligible for a Lark Hovering Session. TO a degree where she makes a small little meal and brings it to you or otherwise fusses. I'll be doing a TL with her for it, but I'm also cool with more customized stuff. Let me know if you want customized.

Also, I'm thinking that I am going to have Little Bear get mussed somehow, rolling around in stinky weeds or mud or something. So recruiting people to help wrangle and wash.

Lauri-Ell

Lauri-Ell, just before coming into Calibrations, had swapped over to Medical. So her work this month will not only be on the general normal stuff you can get from her (patrols, workouts, training), or people might want to see her around the hospital? She's going to be learning stuff.

I would love it if she got to start working on someone, but with simple injuries, as she's just learning.

In addition, she's going to the beach later this month, anyone wanna join her?

Happy to talk other ideas too.

Gladio

So he saw some really messed up stuff for all of ya'll. And honestly, I figure that Gladio's world actually observed Pride Month in June. And he figures it's early Summer so...

Thanks a lot Richie, Gladio's going to be doing a network post thing about accepting yourself in all you are and he's going to invite people to celebrate with him down at the beach. Does Gladio like beaches? HELL YES.

So I guess Gladio's guiding the beach calls for this year? Who wants to join him? Also he's TOTALLY going to try and talk people into races along the shore and other sports things. What? It's who he is.

He's also got a sword and is good to call upon for clearing plants if you need some extra trimming.

Tommy

So Tommy's plans are to PRETEND THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Except he's actually going to join the attempts to say 'fuck it' to the Calibrations space. Rather than trying to blow it up, who wants to Join Tommy in trying to block the fucking area with rubble cut/blown from the quarry in Sh'Ka and trying to just fill the tunnel in?

Also he's going to see about a new project, which is going to involve trying to 'kidnap' a drone from the Estates in Sh'Ka to bring back to help with greenhouse tasks. This may not go well.

Would you like one of those adventures? Or to try and pin him down and talk to him over this CLEARLY NOT CONFRONTING HIS TENSIONS?

Finally, I'm happy to handwave more people having seen his calibrations and can offer really quick summaries of the memories for those who may have wanted them but didn't have time/energy to hit it up.

Reeve

Reeve's the one I have the least concrete ideas for. He'd definitely want to be getting involved with more projects, so if there is anything people want to build or are working on creating something people need. So really, he's the most easily recruited person there is right now.

Didn't end up getting his calibrations up, but he's been having a bad time of things because of his previous kidnapping/calibrations torture session.

After getting out (and making sure everyone is clear) he will probably unleash some magic/anger at the doors. He will likely be back over the month to continue trying things if anyone wants to help/do the same.

He will be looking for Soldier still, and is very worried about him.

As usual he will be working at the Hospital, happy to do thread with anyone needing healing, advice, other healers etc.

He/I am also happy to provide magical services or hijinks (can't promise everything asked for will succeed/be allowed).

Catra

I am looking for more to do with Catra, if anyone has any ideas they'd like to involve her in, or want to develop some CR (good or bad).

She's still working on fixing up her factory, and making mischief around town/occasionally playing nice.

Maybe her fear of the water can be explored more with all the heat and probable beach fun?

Beck

Beck is going to try to slink away. I don't know how successful he will be, as I know there are a number of people who want to get their hands on him. Do let me know if you would try to stop him straight away.

I know Soldier will be back, and free of Beck (though he does still have that notebook somewhere...and he knows the words, so...) That's a thing to be dealt with.

Additionally he still does have his drones in hiding, which will come into play if/when he escapes.

Maybe he will be stranded on the island? Maybe someone will come after him because they want justice? Maybe he will slip off into the night and terrorize you all???

If/when drones come into play please do make use of my permissions page to let me know what's okay to terrorize you with. We can do light or super dark, or he can leave you alone completely.

Bucky Barnes

There's been some upsetting fall out from calibrations, especially with Tony discovering what Bucky did/not telling him.

He and Steve have confessed their feelings. Bucky may continue being a grump if people tease him, but he will be...noticeably happier.

Although, Soldier is still missing, and Bucky knows he was activated/the book is out there somewhere, so he will be looking for that. Perhaps you happen upon him in stealth mission mode and wonder wtf is going on?

Would also love to get him in on summer beach fun.

Edward Teach/Blackbeard

Hello there, I'm Blackbeard.

This pirate will be joining everyone as soon as the event is over.

He will be fascinated by and often angry at all this new technology, which people are welcome to try and help him with.

He can't read/write, and may be in search of a scribey type person, even if/after learning how to video/audio chat.

Ed will almost certainly be settling on the beach, and will be attempting to build a boat if anyone wants to help, hinder or observe.

He can make for amusing CR or abruptly negative, depending on the interaction, so please do be aware of this.

As I said before, feel free to notice all the strange anachronistic stuff about him, and to know the history of Blackbeard, just don't tell him he is from a tv show.

I just got the one boy but!

He wasn't part of Calibrations but has just been kind of chilling best he can in Sh'Ka while it happened. Not doing too much. Lance is still spending forever trying to plan the perfect wedding with Keith, and hopefully they'll get around to it soon! Heck, maybe sooner than later since things seem to be calming down for a while. He's also planning on trying to build/adapt a proper house for them and their zoo pets so he'll probably ask for some help on that too.

And heck yeah he's gonna be spending a ton of time at the beach.

Aside from that, I am very, very open to plotting, continuing CR, and especially making new CR! I've been slow/absentish for a while due to health issues but I'm doing my best to slam back into things now, and I would love for more interactions with people.

To poke fun at a supposed ('supposed' because I am canon blind for Voltron) human unable to build his own things. York is an asshole at first but I am down for negative CR that has a chance to progress to positive

Sailor G - Keith

I have no major plans yet for June, so I'm open to ideas.

Looking to continue current CR and definitely find new stuff. No shipping because Keith here is on his way to get married, but any other type of CR is definitely cool, even potentially negative stuff.

I'd love to get Keith out to explore a bit more. I wanted to do Calibrations, but was unfortunately tied up with things in real life, so I'm going to handwave that he was over in Sh'Ka with the others to make things easier in that regard. He and Lance are planning a wedding and house-hunting (or even just plot-of-land-hunting to build something with salvaged materials if needed). Keith is technically the "dad" to two furbabies... Kosmo the cosmic wolf, and Snow the perpetual snow leopard cub (she's not getting any bigger). Both are pretty free to run about, so I'm open to pet shenanigans as well.

Keith will also likely be dragged to the beach often by his fiancé. As payback, he makes Lance deal with the wet Kosmo smell.

If Lerith ever sees Kosmo or Snow, he will IMMEDIATELY want to pet and be friends and steal them and make friends with Keith (and by extension, Lance maybe?) I am definitely open for discussion on getting Keith to meet skinny tall elf who has a very soft spot for animals. :D

I have some things for Lerith I do want to do, but I know off the bat one of them is going to need fleshing out - which is his Sign class(es).

•Sign class(es) held at the diner

•Herb harvest (his Thedas plants should be good to start harvesting herbs from)

•Gentle magic practicing at the fountain or the lake or somewhere where he can't catch shit on fire.

•He will notice Iron Bull and Terra are gone and ask around for them via the Network.

•He wants to go to the beach but this elf does not know how to swim. Someone build SANDCASTLES WITH HIM :D

•Also completely up for plotting out things you might be interested in playing out with Lerith! Unlike someone I play, he's a nice elf. (:

Slowly coming back after a hiatus... to give the cliff notes version:

1. the Soldier was triggered into full Winter Soldier mode by Beck, and broke him out of whatever prison he was held in
2. while everyone else was in Calibrations, the Soldier was sent off by the Agrii for one of those "mysterious missions" that happen when you hiatus
3. he's baaaaack!!!

I'm looking to ease back into things because work has become a 7-man team playing 11-man football lately and I don't have a lot of time for the fun things, sadly. On the table is:

1. locating the Soldier like physically I have no idea where he is but probably Sh'Ka out of habit
2. deciding on mental state as in still triggered or starting to shake it off (or knocked out of it by Agrii) and what might be most interesting to pursue

I welcome all potential ideas with the caveat that I need to keep it fairly light, load-wise, and need the understanding that anything with me will be molasses slow right now. Also of note is that the Winter Soldier personality can be somewhat triggering in terms of violence/mention of violence, and I will do my best to avoid people for whom that can be upsetting.

Billy, Bucky and Beck possibly would all be in search of Soldier (Beck might have the good sense to steer clear until he is able to retrieve the book).

Billy could find him via magic and Bucky could track him with fellow Bucky sense, lol. So depending on which, if any, you want, one or both could find him at some point.

Soldier is welcome to go after Beck if you want. Or Beck can try and take him over again now or in future as well if you want.

Bucky can help Soldier with learning to fight the code words/find the book/just commiserate.

Basically, ilu, glad you're back. I will throw as many people at you as you like always <3

His calibration stuff was all about being stuck in one room so he will go out and do stuff. Mostly he'll be setting up shop in an empty factory, and most likely it will end up full of simple mechanical things at the moment. Since he didn't have it for all of calibrations he'll carry on not using his crutch but this will also mean he can use both hands for the first time in his life. I'm gonna send him over to the mural because he needs more bright colors in his life. This will also mean that he needs to have painting lessons, or maybe just lessons in how to make paint?

Just this guy here. He didn't do calibrations on his own because I didn't want to give away his full timeline to Gladio because that will be a face to face discussion..eventually.

He's still doing agriculture, so plants will definitely be a thing but if they're vegetables he'll attempt to make it look good.

Beach and Noct go together because that's where the fish live. He's still going to have his hands full of fishing for the diner, and he's a competitive sort, so feel free to tag him for fun stuff there. Or he can hang out at a bonfire and sit around because that's something he's used to as well.

He can go look for people if they get lost since that's something he's used to doing, and he can use his knowledge of agriculture to help folks.
