WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Winter in Temba and Sh'Ka
And it still keeps snowing. The cold is also causing some of the Shadowpaws to be drawn to the inhabited buildings of Temba in search for shelter. The further away from the library one is, the more likely it gets that they may share one's living space and bless anyone else living there with nightmares. The area around the library remains free of the shadowpaws thanks to the mothcats residing there.
Over in Sh'Ka, a similar picture has been painted. But being situated within all these tall trees paints a somewhat different picture. A more icy one. All the by now leaf-free trees are covered in a thick layer of ice, as are Sh'Ka's stone-carved buildings. The wind here is harsher than it is in Temba, which has been comparably wind-free.
Please try not to slip and hurt yourself while marveling at either city.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
The two currently crewless ships are open for anyone to step inside and have a look around, maybe even use for a nap.
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Ash Ketchum | Pokemon
The newest resident in Temba is a small boy that looks to be about ten or eleven and he is nowhere near dressed for the winter weather. He's in a short-sleeved blue and white shirt that leaves his arms exposed to the elements. Another thing to note is the Yellow ball of fluff settled on his shoulder and curled close to his neck. Maybe they're keeping each other warm?
"I just don't get it, Pikachu." He's muttering to himself as he looks around the fountain. "How come there's not a single Pokémon around?" The little mouse like creature makes a small noise 'Pika...' in response. "Maybe it's because it's too cold?"
He glances around again but he knows his theory doesn't hold water because there are plenty of Pokémon that need to live in snow and ice to survive. It's more that the idea that he's so far removed from his universe that Pokémon don't even exist is not a nice thought. Where did Palkia even send them? Or could this have been done by Giratina? At least he's got Pikachu here with him. All he can really do at the moment is hope whichever one sent him here will come and bring him back.
The Diner
After having gotten some kind of explanation about where and why he's here, and having no luck in finding any Pokémon, Ash heads to the diner because if he can't find a Pokémon to befriend then he's gonna find a meal.
He pushes the door open and quickly looks around, just thinking about food has his stomach growling in protest about how empty it is. Ash doesn't really know the last time he ate but it feels like it's been hours which means Pikachu is probably starving now, too.
"Hello?" He calls out, shutting the door behind him. At the same time his constant companion mimicks his tone with a 'Pikachu?'. "Is anyone here?"
Arrival
Nevertheless the observation is light in tone- although the voice that speaks sounds a bit...odd. There's kind of an electric echo to it. Not too hard to figure why either, once Ash and his electromouse see who's speaking.
The figure's sitting comfortably on the roof of a building, not seeming terribly bothered by the cold himself, even though that raggedy cape can't be doing much for keeping the chill out. Glowing blue optics watch the kid down below, the metal (metal?) face seeming to smile somehow. When he opens his mouth again, his throat brightens with amber light as he speaks.
"Welcome to Temba, kid. ...and pet? Huh. That's a weird lookin' rabbit."
no subject
"What's up, Pikachu?" Ash asks before glancing up at the direction Pikachu's pointing. He lets out a noise of surprise and takes a step back. He's almost tempted to ask if he's not a Pokémon but manages to refrain when he hears him refer to his buddy as a rabbit. Ash glances at Pikachu who lets out an offended noise at the gall of someone calling him a rabbit.
"Uh.. hi. This is Pikachu and he's referred to as an electric mouse, not a rabbit." Ash explains.
"Pika, pikachu." Pikachu nods in agreement.
"Anyways, I'm Ash. Are you a Pokémon?"
no subject
"An electric mouse.... Huh. That's a new one..." he muses, stroking his chin. Then he blinks. "-a what now? No, I'm Cayde, and I'm stuck here same as you and your Pikachu friend."
no subject
"Piika!" Pikachu says proudly, happily rubbing against Ash's face. Both of them sober quickly at that last comment though.
"Stuck huh?" Ash pulls on his cap and mutters something about Giratina and Palkia but shakes it off. "Ya know, normally, I'm always up for a new adventure, but since I was kinda taking some time off after my last journey, I don't even have my backpack with me." It's probably still sitting on the floor in his room back in Pallet.
"Well, it's nice to meet ya, anyway."
no subject
"Ah, that was probably intentional. Not everything ends up coming along with you even if you had it. I know I was missing a lot of stuff," he snorts, stepping over to the edge of the roof before dropping down to the ground. "Sometimes the Agrii are nice enough to bring some of our stuff in though."
no subject
"Pika." Pikachu agreed.
"Whoa." Ash takes a careful step back as Cayde joins them out the ground, moving his hand to secure Pikachu to his shoulder and prevent him from getting startled and shocking them both.
"I don't really care about my backpack as such, but it'd be nice to see all my other Pokemon."
no subject
He dusts himself off and straightens his hood. "Oh, there's more?"
no subject
"Yeah, lots more! They're all back home at Professor Oak's lab though." Ash evades the subject of heroes. "We've been to so many places and just keep meeting more and more friends." He says enthusiastically, Pikachu clearly sharing the enthusiasm as he lets out an excited cry of 'Pi-Pikachu!'"
no subject
"Oh, well at least it sounds like they've got someone looking out for them then." He can't help but grin a bit as he looks at the two. "What is it you do, kid? Sounds like traveling is definitely a part of it. I can get behind that, I love traveling."
no subject
"Oh! I'm a Pokemon Trainer! It's my job to catch and train as many Pokemon as I can to be the best that they can be. Where I'm from, when you turn ten you can get your trainer's license and get your first Pokemon. You can choose between a Fire Type, a Grass Type, and a Water Type. On the day I got mine, I over slept and ended up with Pikachu. It's okay though-we wouldn't have it any other way, right buddy?"
"Pika!" Pikachu happily agreed.
no subject
"Seems like you got the better part of the deal there. You said Pikachu was an electric mouse? Sooo...these pokemon are associated with elements?" Interesting.

The Diner
He wonders why the Agrii even take kids. This boy definitely doesn't look like he belongs in a sci-fi setting. Of course, little does he know about some of the adventures Ash has had....
no subject
"We just sorta woke up here and realized it must have been hours since we had anything to eat. I'm Ash, and this is Pikachu." He introduces himself and the yellow fluff ball on his shoulder.
"Pika-Pikachu." Pikachu raises his little paw in greeting.
no subject
He thinks Pikachu is really cute.
"So, what kind of animal is Pikachu?" he asks.
no subject
"Uh.. Animal?" Ash and Pikachu both exchange a look before Ash turns back to Radley. "Pikachu's a Pokémon-an electric type."
"Pika-pika." Pikachu nods sagely.
no subject
He smiles again, but looks a little tense now. "Really? ... An electric type?"
He's not entirely sure what that means, but now he sees the lightning bolt tail.
no subject
"Pika-chuu!" Pikachu lets loose a jolt of electricity- though it's not a very strong one it's strong enough to leave Ash momentarily stunned, hair standing on end and fingers twitching slightly.
"Sorry buddy, I forgot you don't like that."
"Pikapi." Pikachu says, sounding rather annoyed.
no subject
"... Is there any warning before he lets it out?"
no subject
"Other than that, you can sometimes see his cheeks spark in a kinda warning, I guess. He doesn't give me much warning though."
no subject
He frowns a bit. "He shocks you a lot?"
At the moment, he's more focused on that than the comment on Pokemon Battles.

"Hey! Hey, kid!" She's up out of the snow itself, sitting with her tail curled around herself. It's cold enough, but the window-ledge is at least clear and shaded from precipitation, "Aren't you cold?"
She isn't, for once. Thank Lark and for that; these fuzzy little paw-covers are doing the job well. Then Quintet sees Pikachu, and rises to stand, craning her neck.
"Oh, hey. There's two of you? Welcome to Temba!"
no subject
"Besides, Pikachu's plenty warm." He gently pets the yellow creature on his shoulder. "I'm Ash, and this is my partner, Pikachu. 'Guess you could say we're kinda new here." He admits.
no subject
"Quintet; nice to meet you both. It's a weird place, but the people are alright," She considers that thought for a moment, then amends it, "Well, some of them are, anyways. I'm doing a patrol, but if you want, I can show you where the Diner is, so you can get something to eat."
