Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

"I don't know any Tommy," he notes, arching a brow as he latches onto one word in particular. "Speedster?" he repeats. He hasn't heard it described like that before, but he thinks he likes it. "You are an enhanced too?" he asks, circling round him like he can't quite believe it, a teasing glint in his eye.
no subject
"Yeah, well, the universes sure play a fucking trick on a lot of people. Including you, Quicksilver."
Enhanced. That was how Wanda described herself, right? Which meant he was a lot closer to being her Pietro than his. They probably had a multitude of multiverses too.
"Not enhanced. That's what was done to you. I was born this way. I'm a mutant, back in my own world."
And as Pietro circles, Tommy turns with him, never breaking eye contact. Don't make him move too fast, he doesn't want to spill the food. That would be a serious dick move.
no subject
"Quicksilver?" he echoes curiously. This kid seems to think he knows an awful lot about him, despite going on to talk about his own world.
He pauses finally, fixing him with a more serious look.
"...Why is it you think you know me?"
no subject
"Do you really want to know, man? Because it's fucking complicated. Probably just better to let the kid go take food to his bro and leave it to Wanda to explain."
no subject
"She's here?"
no subject
"Yeah. Somewhere around. Actually, she might be with Billy for all I know. Or sleeping. You really shouldn't bug her when she sleeps. Her powers, they get into your brain. I don't think you had to live with her long with the whole depths of her power."
Or maybe he had.
"She's going to be glad to see you, Pietro. Maximoff witches tend to be when their speedsters show up. We get into too much trouble."
no subject
Except apparently not.
"Maximoff witches?" Plural? "There's only Wanda and me, there's no more Maximoffs."
no subject
"Depends on where in the multiverse you are. In yours, yeah. There are no more Maximoffs. In mine? Well, it gets a hell of a lot more complicated, Pietro. A hell of a lot more complicated."
With a sigh he starts to walk away.
"Come on, I've got to deliver food. After that I can show you where she likely is."
no subject
He mirrors Tommy's sigh and moves to follow after him, silently offering to help him carry the food.
no subject
"My name is Tommy Shepherd. And the first time I was born, in my world, it was under the name Thomas Maximoff. I'm your nephew. Yay alternate universe retro-reincarnation. See, Billy, it doesn't take twenty minutes to explain."
no subject
Okay, that's all...a lot.
Pietro blinks blankly, needing a moment to process. His nephew? Wanda's...son? That's not possible. None of that is possible. Is it??
"...How is that possible?"
no subject
He doesn't know their exact age. Doesn't intend to ask. but damn, Tommy being almost twenty has to not add up with that math.
"This place? Doesn't respect timelines or the barriers of different dimensions. So even though Wanda Maximoff is my mother in my world, sorta, I refer to this one as Aunt Wanda. Because, you know, trying not to make her feel like she's responsible for a kid she's never had."
no subject
But his world has at least prepared him a little for the unusual. Aliens came out of the sky, super soldiers came out of the ice, and he and Wanda were gifted powers from a magical scepter.
"...Good to know things work out for us, I guess," he concludes with an uncertain smile, "We get along? In your world? Kids like me."
no subject
But he sighs and runs his free hand through his hair as he starts walking again.
"In my world, you're older and definitely ornery. But I guess I know where I get the kids liking me from."
no subject
"Are we American in your world?" he asks, curious now about Tommy's accent, smirking at the notion of being called ornery.
no subject
"Pietro's father a German Jew, and escaped Auschwitz as a teen," Tommy explains, his voice soft and nervous. He hasn't even told Wanda this much. Frankly, he isn't certain she can handle the psychic weight of it all. Of what that other Wanda had been through and how she could be of that sort of history and fail her family so. "And his mother was a Romani woman from Poland. You can imagine what it was like for them growing up, in the face of Nazis."
And here was Pietro Maximoff who worked with Nazis. Even if Tommy thought he could understand why, it left a bad taste in his mouth.
no subject
"Our parents were born after the war." After that war, at least. There always seemed to be some war or other Sokovia was caught between, as far back as he can remember.
At the very least, in Pietro's defense, when List, and Strucker had first appeared in Sokovia, it was under the banner of SHIELD. It wasn't until later they learned who and what they really were, though Pietro had still been prepared to use them to achieve their goals in the end.
no subject
"Like I said, different universes. You've gotta understand, them multiverse is a fucking mess. It changes things in a lot of ways. In my world, you're born as the fastest man alive. You get passed, because fuck if we are ever allowed to exist without being overshadowed, but you were the fastest man alive. And you end up living in America and all sorts of shit happens."
God, even thinking about it is a headache. Life can be a bit of a mess, can't it? Tommy knows it better than many. But, at least there is one positive going on.
"You're closer to your Wanda than my Pietro is to his Wanda. At least, at the moment."
no subject
"I think I prefer my world to yours."
no subject
"I think I prefer your world to mine too, even if I don't exist in your world."
Even if he can never exist in Pietro's world.
no subject
"I'm sure you could, give her a few years," Pietro argues kindly, not too eager for Wanda to run off without him and start her own family.
no subject
"You haven't asked who my father is yet," Tommy counters.
no subject
no subject
Because he expects the guy did, if Vision fought Ultron like his Pops had told him. Grats, Pietro. Way to know your sister and a robot are totally a thing that happens.
no subject
"...How-?" he finally grasps. Could Vision really- ?
