Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka

Unlike last year, spring doesn't leave the He-Rows dealing with piles of pink glitter. The vast amounts of snow are still present to some degree here and there where the snow has been piled up especially high after the recent blizzard. But life has been returning to both cities with grass and flowers growing more vigorously in Temba while in Sh'Ka the especially tall trees are sprouting their leaves.

The native animals of both cities become more active again as well and especially the birbs residing around Temba's beach produce a noise that can be picked up even in certain parts of the city. Would it be wise to disturb them?

And while the weather has clearly turned warmer and the sun shows notably more presence, spring remains comparably wet. Strong showers of sudden rain are very likely to surprise an exploring He Row when they least expect them.

Explore ~~the city~~ Temba!

Here's a map of Temba and a bit more description of some of the buildings here.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.

If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

Visit the spaceships!

That's right, there are currently several small spaceships sitting in the hangar. Not all of them may be around when you check out the building, as one of the pilots may be using one of them to fly over to Sh'Ka. But there should still enough of them around for you to inspect and maybe wonder about. However, only one of them will open its doors for you. Do you dare to step inside? Check out the protein paste or maybe even meet one of your crew mates?

Try the network!

Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

There be storms...

These power-altering storms keep ravaging parts of the planet every once in a while. No one truly knows where they come from or what to do about them yet, but one of them appears to be approaching. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you rather feel drawn to investigate.

Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Wildcard!

You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking. Quite unlike a gathering of potentially dangerous creatures to encounter. The setting is yours to explore and have fun with!

Chloe stares at the information of the crying Ash. "... O-kay...."

Realizing she will have to adapt to this strangeness, she says, "Chloe Cerise, from Vermilion City. And this is Eevee...."

Eevee seems to take it all in stride.

("Where were you before you came here?" she asks Pikachu. "We were doing research in Galar!")

Ash can see that Chloe is having some difficulty with this and he feels bad there's not much he can do. However, he can always be kind and lend a hand and that's exactly what he intends to do.

"Vermillion, huh?" What a coincidence that they're both from the Kanto region. "Nice to meet you, Chloe and Eevee. I'm sure we'll be good friends!"

"Pika? (Galar?)" Pikachu tilts his head at Eevee. He's not sure he's heard of that region before. Maybe Professor Oak mentioned it in passing once? "Pikachu pika pi pikpika pikachu chu pika. (We had just gotten home from the Kalos region.)" He supplies.

"Y-Yeah, we're kind of neighbors," Chloe stammers. And she tries to smile. "I hope we will be."

At least it is nice to see that this Ash is pretty much the same in personality. Maybe it won't be too hard to get used to....

("Kalos is neat too! It's so green and pretty!

"Do you like it in this place?")

"We are?" Ash blink curiously at that revelation because she just said she was from Vermillion City and not Pallet. Maybe he's missing something here? He knows his mom wouldn't have given up The Pallet House for anything. "So did ya just get here?" He moves onto the next thing.

"Pi-pika... (I guess so..)" Kalos was back to green and Lumiose City had nearly fully recovered but it still left a sort of bitter taste in his mouth. He knows Ash put on a brave face and smiled while assuring everyone he was doing great but Pikachu knows Ash well enough to know when he's upset by something and just won't admit it. "Pikapika. Pikapi pika ka pikachu. Chu pi. (It's okay. Ash refuses to use the map though.)"

Chloe means just because they're both from Kanto, pretty much, but maybe she unconsciously also means because of how she knows Ash. It will be hard for her to not think about that.

"Oh ... yeah, we did! We got the weird information at the fountain and now Eevee just wants to explore. It's not ... dangerous here, is it?"

("So you get lost?") Eevee says. That sounds like Ash.

"Well..." Ash crosses his arms to think about it. "I don't really know how answer that. I haven't been here that long but I don't think it's any more dangerous than back home. Just different." He decides. There was that one runin but it hadn't happened since so he's not too worried.

"Pika.(exactly)" Pikachu nods. Why Ash couldn't just open up the map when he needed it, Pikachu would never know. "Pikapi pika pikachu pi. (Ash should never be in charge of navigation.)"

"Oh. Well, that's good, I guess.... But different, how?"

("At least you get to see fun new places!") Eevee chirps. ("Maybe you wouldn't see all of them with a map!")

"Just.. the adults are more... crude, I guess. And there's no Pokemon here-just animals but they don't know attacks or anything." Ash states, thinking about all the terrible language he's heard since he's been there. "Hey, let's have a battle." He promptly changes the subject.

"Pika. Pikachu pike Pikapi pika kaka pika pikachu pika. Pi. Pikachu chu pi. (Yup. Fun until Ash falls out of a tree and can't tell anyone where he is because he doesn't know.)" Pikachu says flatly, casting a look back at his trainer. At least his shoulder healed up pretty quick.

Chloe grimaces. "I don't think my dad will like me being here." Not that she has much choice. "Are they all like that?

"A battle? Um, sure...." She looks to where Eevee seems to be happily chatting. Eevee is great at battles, although Chloe isn't really into the gym circuits.

("What?! That happened? Did he get amnesia?" Eevee asks.)

"Eevee? Do you want to battle?" Chloe calls.

Eevee looks up and warbles, waving her tail.

"Yeah, I don't think my mom would approve either but it is what is, I guess." Ash lets out a sigh but gets over it quickly as Chloe agrees to a battle.

"Great! There's no Pokemon center so let's not make this too intense, 'kay?" He says enthusiastically.

"Pi. (No.)" Pikachu says flatly. "Pikapika pikachu, pika. Chu pika. (he just wasn't paying attention.)"

"Pikachu, you ready to battle?" Ash asks and Pikachu lets out an excited noise of agreement.

Chloe hopes not all the adults talk like that.

"That's great with me," she says.

("Oh,") says Eevee.

She hurries over to Chloe for the battle start.

Pikachu hops up on Ash's shoulder and Ash backs up to give the Pokémon all space they'll need for their battle. It's too bad there's not official battle field here and no one to act as referee but they'll manage.

"'Kay Pikachu, remember we're not going all out this time." He tells his pokemon. Pikachu gives him a tiny salute with an enthusiastic "Pika! (Got it!)" and hops down to the ground, landing on all fours in a battle ready stance.

"I think you should have the first move." Ash calls out. It's only fair after all. He's the one that challenged her.

"Oh. Okay. Eevee, use Swift!" Chloe says.

Eevee jumps in the air and flings her stars.

Ash feels something akin to fire light underneath him like hasn't felt in a while. He can't help but pump his fist into the air. At long last, he's getting to battle again.

"Okay Pikachu! Dodge it with quick attack!" He calls out. Pikachu lets out a noise of acknowledgement before darting off to the side to avoid the swift attack.

"Follow up with Iron Tail!" He calls out, throwing his arm out with the words.

"Pika!" Pikachu calls out, rushing towards eevee and getting his tail ready. "ChuPika!"

"Counter it with Dig, Eevee!" Chloe says.

Eevee dug a hole and prepared to come out.

Pikachu's tail hits the ground and send up a bunch of dust and dirt, completely misses his target.

"Come one Pikachu, don't get intimidated, we've got this!" Ash calls out encouragingly. "Listen carefully and aim your Iron tail at the ground!"

"Pika!" Pikachu agrees, halting a moment in order to listen to see where Eevee would come out from.

Eevee tries to come out from behind Pikachu.

Pikachu's ears prick up at just the right time and he slams his tail down where he hears Eevee.

"That's the way! Use Thunderbolt!" Ash says excitedly, pumping his fist into the air.

"PikaCHUUU!" Pikachu responds to Ash's command immediately.

"Eeveeee!" Eevee exclaims.

Chloe suddenly gets worried, especially in this new world. "Eevee?"

Eevee comes out of the hole, still okay. "Eevee-vee-vee!"

Ash and Pikachu both wait for Eeevee to come back up.

"You two still okay to battle?" He asks, not ready to resume until he has to okay. Pikachu sits back as he waits for Eevee to recover or for the battle to continue.

"Do you still want to battle, Eevee?" Chloe asks.

"Vee!" Eevee nods.

"Okay, then use Quick Attack!" Chloe says.

Eevee hurries over the ground.

"Great!" Ash cries out enthusiastically. "Pikachu, you use quick attack, too!"

Pika! Pikachu responds before dashing to meet Eevee head on.

Chloe tenses, a little worried about this....

Eevee, however, seems perfectly fine with it and charges right at Pikachu.

They both collide in a headbutt but Pikachu lets out a sharp noise and falls back. He's far from down and shakes his head.

"Pikachu! You okay to keep going?" Ash asks. Pikachu gives him a sharp nod, not ready to give up just yet. "Great, let's keep things going with Electroball!"

Just as Ash commands, Pikachu builds up a ball of electricity and bats it at Eevee.

"Dodge it, Eevee!" Chloe commands.

Eevee leaps away, but it still clips her a bit.
