SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME

SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
The native animals of both cities become more active again as well and especially the birbs residing around Temba's beach produce a noise that can be picked up even in certain parts of the city. Would it be wise to disturb them?
And while the weather has clearly turned warmer and the sun shows notably more presence, spring remains comparably wet. Strong showers of sudden rain are very likely to surprise an exploring He Row when they least expect them.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

[So they need help to do that. Though that response makes him sigh.]
No, it won't. And chances are most of us won't let you because at the moment we do live here. Easier to just help them and get it over with.
no subject
But that's going to take forever. I need to be back on Tatooine now!
[ The anger in his voice is still clearly evident, but there's a trace of fear in his tone as well. He can't fail this mission. And if he's stuck here for too long, it won't matter if he gets sent back—he'll be as good as dead anyway. ]
There has to be a way off of here, [ he mutters, and this time it sounds more like he's talking to himself. ] There has to be.
no subject
[Poor kid. Still, he's here to do a thing. Which means offering out the food.]
Anyway, here, Din.
no subject
That train of thought is abruptly interrupted by what the stranegr says next. The visor of Boba helmet tilts between the tray of food and the man offering it, dread momentarily outstripped by confusion. ]
Who's Din?
no subject
[No, clearly not. Damn, what the hell then?]
You're just a whole other Mandolorian. Shit. I'm sorry. Uh... Listen, this food is for you, and I can, like, get a screen or something for you to eat behind. YOu know, helmet shit and all that.
no subject
"Are there other Mandalorians here?" Boba asks, a glimmer of hope sneaking into his voice. Other Mandalorians would still be strangers to him, but at least they'd be a little bit familiar—and, if they're bounty hunters like him, they'll be more likely to understand what's at stake with Boba getting taken here mid-job for Jabba.
no subject
Related to him too apparently.
no subject
"What kind of people?" he asks. Perhaps the odds of any of them being an enemy of his are low—but the odds of any being allies are even lower.
no subject
"There's a really nice kid who works with my brother. She's pretty cool. And Echo is pretty nice. I don't see him much, but he's just pretty smart. And BD-1, he's my little droid pal. And Cal."
Cal was pretty damn good.
no subject
"Do any of them have a lightsaber?" he asks. "It's a plasma sword that can cut through almost anything."
no subject
Then he looks at the kid, concerned.
"You got bad history with Jedi?"
no subject
"Yes," he says to the question and then, quietly: "They killed my father."
Perhaps it speaks to some amount of trust that Boba would be so upfront with the fact. At the very least, Boba believes that the man in front of him wants to help—so, better that he know the stakes and why Boba needs to take care to avoid any Jedi that might be here.
He puts it more bluntly this time: "Are there any Jedi here?"
no subject
"I don't know. It's... hard to say. Is there a dude with a lightsaber? Yes. Was he training to be a Jedi, yeah I think so. He's got the sword and the telekinesis. But he's also kept us safe here at times. Helped us fight a giant monster that was attacking us recently. He's my friend. But Sith have been my friends too. And non-Jedi. And droid."
no subject
"Okay," Boba says, taking a deep breath. "Even if he's your friend, you shouldn't tell him I'm here, alright? It'll only cause trouble." At least it sounds like he's still a Padawan. In Boba's experience, those aren't as bad as full-fledged knights. Still, it's a bad situation: grounded and stuck in a crumbling city with at least one would-be Jedi roaming around and Jabba waiting for him back on Tatooine. Overwhelming is an understatement.
Boba steels himself. One thing at a time. He looks around at their surroundings, checking to see if there's anyone else around.
"Is there somewhere else we can go?" he asks. "I don't like being in the open like this."
no subject
"Dude, the communicators tell us who is here. He'll know a Mandolorian is around."
Still, if the kid needs shelter...
"Diner, to eat the food?"
AT least eat kid.
no subject
"Okay," he mumbles. "Let's go."
no subject
"Are you from Coruscant?"
no subject
He looks over at the question. "No," he answers. "Are you?"
Boba has little reason to suspect that the man might not be from his galaxy.

no subject
He feels a shiver go through him as he steps inside. Not so long ago, he'd been in similar circumstances; someone on Coruscant had lured him into their bar with promises of food and drink—and then they'd tried to collect a Republic bounty on his head. Beneath his helmet, Boba casts a sidelong glance as his current benefactor. At least if they're all stuck here, Boba can be reasonably sure he doesn't have anyone to collect a bounty from. Still, when he looks around the place, it's with an eye for exit routes—and potentially improvised weapons.
"You haven't told me your name yet," he points out quietly to the stranger at his side.
no subject
"I'm Tommy. I sorta own the diner here, though a lot of people help out now."
no subject
One thing's for certain: it smells like food. Boba's stomach growls and his expression grows embarrassed beneath his father's helmet. Some bounty hunter he is; he can't even afford his own meals.
"What's the currency like here?" Boba asks. It's a round-about way of getting to the actual point: he doesn't have anything to pay Tommy back for the food.
no subject
"There's no currency," he says, putting the tray of food on the nearest table. "When people can, we encourage them to help with meal prep, or cleaning, or harvesting under the guidance of someone with agriculture. Or, if you can hunt but you probably can't at your age, Mando or no, bringing in meat or fish."
no subject
"I can fish," Boba says. "And hunt."
He's got more experience with the former, Kamino having been an ocean planet. But he was raised to be a hunter—even if a hunter of people rather than animals. He thinks at least some of those skills must be transferable.
For now: food. He's already forgotten Tommy's strange offer of setting up a screen earlier, and doesn't hesitate to remove his helmet. The face beneath is young—not even in his teens—soft features in striking contrast to the hard lines of the Mandalorian battle helmet that had concealed them moments earlier.
Immediately, he begins to tuck into the still-warm soup, obviously hungry. "Thanks," he says between mouthfuls.
no subject
"We need fish more than meat right now," he says for now, because that's slightly safer around here.
Still, he's trying to deal with that young face. Such a kid. Damn, that's so hard to believe.
"Eat as much as you want."
