SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME

SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
The native animals of both cities become more active again as well and especially the birbs residing around Temba's beach produce a noise that can be picked up even in certain parts of the city. Would it be wise to disturb them?
And while the weather has clearly turned warmer and the sun shows notably more presence, spring remains comparably wet. Strong showers of sudden rain are very likely to surprise an exploring He Row when they least expect them.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Re: Network
Max?! Max, is that you?
no subject
[Not knowing if he and the others had made it out of the Upside Down safely has been one of the things that has kept her up at night since she got here.]
no subject
[ It occurs to him that Max might not know about what happened to her. Maybe she is from before all the Vecna crap even happened. Either way, it's not gonna be a fun conversation to tell someone they died, graphically. That they're in a coma and who knows if they'll ever come out.
He smiles wide at her and pushes the shock and desperate relief away. ]
I am great, now. I think I am over in the Flood Plain? That's what the map is saying anyway. Where are you?
no subject
Okay. I'm -- at this like, rundown hotel.
[She moves her tablet so he can see the room she's in.]
I'll come your way.
no subject
[ Steve's face hurts with how much he is smiling now. He can't wait to see her. Actually give her a hug and confirm she's safe and sound. Suddenly being the babysitter isn't so bad. At least not when Mike wasn't around.]
I can meet you somewhere so you don't have to go as far?
no subject
[She's not sure what to make of how much he's smiling right now. He doesn't usually look this happy to see her??]
I don't want you to get lost.
no subject
How long have you been here? I just...I saw you yesterday back in Hawkins...
no subject
[She grabs her jacket and puts it on, carrying her tablet with her as she heads out of her room on her way to find him.]
Was -- everyone else okay? Back home?
no subject
[ That question is...not an easy one to answer. He's not even sure if he should answer it. What if he does and that changes things? But then again...what would be worth protecting in that time line? Eddie died, Max was in a coma, the town was torn apart...]
Why don't I tell you about it when you're here? There's... a lot.
no subject
Yeah, okay.
[She doesn't take her skateboard, since too much of the terrain isn't suited for skating anyway, and it'll just slow her down.]
no subject
I'll see you soon, Max. I'll uh... [ He looks at the map a second and flips back. ] I'll walk toward you. Try to get away from these mosquito things.
no subject
[She makes good time, under 20 minutes, when she spots him in the distance. She lifts her hand in a wave.]
no subject
Jesus Christ. Max... It's... It's really good to see you.
no subject
You too.
no subject
You look great. I guess kidnapping is good for you, huh?
no subject
The alien abduction kind is, apparently.
no subject
C'mon. Show me where you've been holed up here. I have a feeling I'll need to set up shop for a little while myself...
no subject
Yeah, I can do that. But...I need to know. What happened. You're from after, right? [It was more asking for confirmation than anything.] Tell me what happened with the others.
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, I'm from...after. And... I won't lie. It's not good. Everyone makes it out except... [ He debates there, wondering if it was better to only tell part of it and not all. But to what end? It wouldn't change things. And if it did, it couldn't get much worse. ]
Except for Eddie. He...uh... He died. So did Jason, actually. And... uh... The town got ripped apart pretty bad with the gates opening. It's only been about a week for me since that point and things are still pretty bad.
[ He doesn't say it but Max is smart. She has to know. If the gates opened and the town was destroyed, that meant Vecna got what he wanted. And that... That meant that Max had to have died. ]
no subject
He'd said he was fine. Eddie had told her he'd been hurt but it wasn't that bad, and he was fine.
That the gates had opened, and things were bad, the town ripped apart...all feels secondary to the news about Eddie. And she knows what it means, had kind of figured things were heading in that direction when she'd shown up here, had been even more sure when she'd seen his face on the tablet a bit ago.]
He told me he was fine.
[Her voice is barely audible.]
no subject
[Eddie had been so open with him that Steve hadn't even thought that he kept it from Max. He should have known better. He would have known Eddie died because he was there. Max wasn't. There was no reason he would have gone out of his way to tell her.
But to lie? Shit. ]
That...I shouldn't have told you that. It wasn't mine to say. [ But it's out of the bag, now. ] You should talk to him about it. But I will say that he was a hero, Max. He saved Dustin's life. Maybe all of our lives. It was the bravest thing I've ever seen.
no subject
[Her voice is a little harsher now, not because she's pissed off, but because she's devastated. She'd been hoping that she was the only casualty in the whole mess. And she'll definitely be talking to Eddie about it, but she's going to have to have some time to calm down, to process her own emotions, so she doesn't just end up yelling at him. She doesn't want to yell at Eddie. She really doesn't.]
no subject
[ It made more sense in his head before he said it out loud. ]
Look. Just don't be too rough on him. There isn't like a guidebook to how to deal with this shit.
no subject
[She exhales, turning away, doing her best to shut down the emotional onslaught she's feeling. She's not entirely sure what she means, but she's tired and upset and she wants to go back to the hotel and go to sleep. Like she could sleep.]
The hotel is this way.
no subject
I guess it's easy to forget you're not much older than we were when we started this shit. You just...seem young. I guess because we got old? Shit. Am I old now?
