SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME

SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
The native animals of both cities become more active again as well and especially the birbs residing around Temba's beach produce a noise that can be picked up even in certain parts of the city. Would it be wise to disturb them?
And while the weather has clearly turned warmer and the sun shows notably more presence, spring remains comparably wet. Strong showers of sudden rain are very likely to surprise an exploring He Row when they least expect them.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

But the Hideout? That-...that was a surprise. Eddie's head tilts, that grin returning with an amused laugh at the thought of one of Steve Harrington's girls thinking he was pretty good.
"Well...you'll have a front row seat round here. Maybe if you say please real nice I'll even play some of whatever it is you listen to."
no subject
Steve bumps their shoulders together softly and gives Eddie a scoff.
"There's no way you even know any song I'd wanna hear. You'd probably get hives even trying to play them."
no subject
He leans into that brief bump and laughs.
"Don't spread it around or anything, but I do know more popular music. I could be persuaded...Try me. Who do you like?"
no subject
"Wham... I like them a lot. Tears for Fears. I have been into Mr. Mister lately too... Oh!" He snaps his fingers and points at Eddie triumphantly. "Heart! They're like metal-ish, right? They have the big hair and the guitars and stuff? I mean These Dreams is kinda slow but I haven't listened to everything..."
no subject
God. He must have it fucking bad, because despite finally wincing and giving a dramatic sigh, he fixes Steve with a coy look and says, "For you... I could be convinced. But you're gonna have to ask real fucking nice. I'm not usually a ballad guy."
no subject
"Am I gonna have to bribe you with these replicate tokens?" Steve likes the look on Eddie's face and can't help but respond with a pretty coy expression of his own. "Or am I really just gonna have to ask? Need your ego stroked a little bit, Munson?"
no subject
Is that a bit of colour on Eddie's cheeks as he grins, catching his tongue between his teeth? "Mmm, well...flattery does work real good with me. You'd have to stroke real good to get a ballad out of me though."
no subject
At the mention of stroking real good, Steve's mind goes where any teenage boy's might. His cheeks immediately go a little pink and he remembers the moment in the RV when Eddie called him 'Big Boy'. The strange, fluttering feeling in his chest is the same as well as the burning heat in his cheeks.
"I bet you'd be awesome at a ballad, dude. You got those big, puppy-dog eyes that can make everyone melt. Besides, your voice I think I remember was pretty good. Think of it as stretching your musical knowledge, huh? Pleeeeeeeease?"
no subject
He pauses in consideration of that request. "...what now?" he asks. It's not like there's anything stopping them...
no subject
"Why not? Guitar is here. I am here. And I promise not to like...upload it to the network thing and ruin your Metal cred. Just for us."
no subject
He plugs it in, playing a few chords to test his memory of the song. He swears he doesn't normally feel this nervous before he plays. Must be the ballad.
For playing by ear/memory, Eddie does a pretty good job with conjuring up the melody of These Dreams, adjusting the pitch a little so it's closer to his vocal range. And even without the rest of his band here, and despite it being a ballad, he really does seem to be giving it his all rather than poking fun or making a joke of it.
no subject
And Steve couldn't look away if he wanted to.
He remembers, distantly, that date sort of ruined at The Hideout. Steve had looked at his date and seen the hero worship and adoration in her eyes as she watched Eddie. She'd looked a little like she was falling in love and Steve had been annoyed at it. Confused. He gets it now.
Something tells him his own expression isn't too far off, either...
"Wow..."
no subject
"I think I mighta messed up some of the lyrics," Eddie mumbles, but he smiles, not able to help himself. "...don't think I'm gonna play this stuff whenever you bat your eyelashes all pretty or whatever..."
no subject
"You're... really good. I get now why my date was gonna start throwing her bra. Jesus."
no subject
"I'm sorry, what??" he asks, grinning far too wide now.
no subject
"Yeah, yeah. The time I saw you, the girl I was with sort of fell in love during your set. I guess she never did anything about it since you don't know her but. Yeah. I was pissed but... Yeah, I get it."
no subject
no subject
And now? Apparently Eddie had wiggled his way into that group. Steve should probably be more freaked about that than he is, but really it is more a relief to figure it out.
He can work with that a little better. Especially if Eddie is gonna flirt.
"Maybe," he says in a bit of a softer voice. "And all these clothes are yours, Eddie. Which one do you want back?"
no subject
"Not a lot to choose between..."
no subject
no subject
He chews faintly on his lower lip, head tilting to the side. "That's not what I heard," he teases with a mock wince, "Why don't you start with the top then?"
no subject
"I'm not cheap or easy when it matters."
no subject
"...Are you saying I matter, Harrington?" he asks with an amused hum, teasing that closing gap between them that much closer.
no subject
He smiles.
"You sang a ballad for me. How could you not?"
no subject
"...I don't do that for just anyone."
