[Aftermath] Temba's Peak... And It's Depths
Things change early one morning. Probably morning, hard to tell down here in the Warrens, especially as Funfronds don't seem to vary their light levels. But it comes with the noise of loud tapping and rapping and pounding. The Funfronds begin to gather in the central area, looking up at the food delivery platform where a Barry representative is pounding out a vigorous summons.
Whether people arrive or not, with in an hour the message is delivered, and translated by those present who have Communications datapoints.
The danger has passed, the city is safe to return to. And they will begin guiding people up soon. Already Funfronds are packing, with others agreeing to be guides on the way back up, not only to the Mines, but beyond that. Throughout the next day they guide people back to the surface in groups of all sorts of sizes.
And the surface...
Well, Temba still stands. The energy field protecting it crackles and shimmers. By the end of the day it falls entirely, leaving Temba untouched by the flow of lava, or the depths of ash fall. Anyone seeking to the edges of it will find the ash has indeed fallen beyond the limits of the former dome of energy. There's even fresh stone in some areas, where the lava hit the edge and found itself redirected away.
The city is, finally, cool. The intense heat of the summer has given away, probably thanks to the overcast skies. And the rest of it...
Many things are standing. Some things are damaged. But what the Agrii did seemed to have helped. The Network is still down, though. Might take another day or two of attention from the Communications and Engineer teams to get it restored, given that near explosion at the top of the Security tower earlier. But hey, at least they know where to work now.
Welcome home, He Rows. Time to take stock of what remains.
Okay, what's the damage?
That's going to vary. Buildings that house Datapoints or vital power/water systems will be intact (though the Security Tower is slightly damaged). Purely communal buildings such as the Hotel, Whale Comb Sent Her, Livestock Nursery, Civics Center, Hangar, Hospital, Alien Target, Residential Towers, and Transport Station are intact. Anywhere that is claimed by multiple player characters (multiple residents in one location) may have damages in only private areas unless all resident players agree to more extensive damages. Anywhere that is exclusively claimed by a single character, your choices are the ultimate ones that matter.
Please let your fellows know in the comment below if a place will be destroyed or heavily damaged, and any lasting notes that need added should be given here to allow map updates.
Anywhere that is previously listed as 'ruins' or has no description on that pay may also be deemed 'ruined beyond salvage' by players, which can result in things like completely being rendered to rubble, topped, or otherwise unusable. Again, update the map there. Let's leave some places undestroyed for future players to claim and use though.
Are any major things (water/power/network) out at this time?
Water and power are already functioning. The Network will be down until a few days have passed for repairs. We're going to assume players will work toward making repairs as soon as possible and would say it's safe to use the Network again starting on September 3rd. Transportation to Sh'Ka via the train will resume on September 4th.
What's the status in Sh'Ka?
Sh'Ka, due to prevalent wind patterns, got hit by a LOT more ash. It's thick on the ground. Going to take some hard work to clean that up. Some paths are already cleared through it by the time people arrive, though. Mostly these are narrow channels clearly made by Barrys because they are also clearly actively maintaining them. Otherwise, Sh'Ka seems fine.
How are the local animals?
Still not around. That's fair for them actually. Takes some time to come back. But they will return within the month.
Is there food to eat?
Thanks to the efforts of the Agrii in protecting Temba, the Greenhouse still stands and the plants seem okay. Somewhere after the initial eruption power must have kicked back on because they were even watered. In addition it seems the Diner is still intact, though it was heavily looted for survival, so the supplies are diminished. Better get on stocking up for the winter. You've got two long seasons ahead of you.
You missed something! Tell me more!
Well, ask it below. We're happy to field any questions you may have. There is a small thing coming up later this month but it's not a major plot event, so feel free to make your own plans for recovery in both cities. We'll hopefully have your TDM available soon, along with our exciting new (if smaller) September changes.

Very sorry, Felwinter.

HIS CHAIR 8[Luckily he did not have much and anything he truly cared about was easy enough to take down with him.
But okay cool. So the structure itself is intact? no holes in the roof or anything?
no subject
Yes, the structure is very sturdy apparently. That is now very apparent. It should be easy to restore some of hte inside.

And how fried are the systems? Is someone able to tell just how the damage originated?
no subject
Don't quote us on this because we're not the best with electronics all the time. Let's say some major fuse failed due to a power overload.

But would there have been any damage to the sewer levels in the wake of the volcano eruption? I...think that's the gist of what my addendum was anyway.
