Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

[ what had they done to his ship? loki quashes the irrational surge of anger. the ships were never theirs, simply vehicles for them to be carted around. still. still. loki had made it his. he had decorated the walls, he had furbished these locations.

there's no trace of memory here. his jaw clenches. ]

[ surveying the battered building, loki clicks his tongue. this is worst than he imagined. ]

Am I supposed to be impressed? Or are you all truly hopeless?

If you all had killed the Atroma's puppets like I said, you wouldn't be in this situation.

[There is no response because Steve took off running as soon as the message came in. He is nearly vaulting down the stairs and out the door before.

Loki gets a whole Steve Rogers coming at him at full speed for a hug. Good thing he's a god.]

Lok. Oh my God, Lok.

[ loki blinks, surprised by the intensity of the hug, his arms hanging awkwardly by his sides for a few long moments before he sighs, his arms finally snaking around steve. ]

Is this not a touch dramatic for you, Steve?

First Breath;

[Someone is waiting outside the ship, leaning against the hull, arms crossed. Trying not to look invested. Trying not to look like it's been too long, though it's only been a few days.

Well, it feels like it's only been a few days. He doesn't exactly trust these Agrii or their tricks.]

About time you got here.

[ his lips twitch, despite himself. ]

If I had known I was on a schedule, I would have timed myself better.

You mean you didn't time your entrance for the most dramatic effect?

[He's getting video in response, and Wanda looks like she's just about to start crying from relief. She'd seen him in the storm, she'd thought he was in terrible danger...]

[ loki blinks at this reaction before the corners of his eyes soften. ]

I am well, of course.

I thought they'd hurt you. I saw you...or something that looked like you. My powers were gone, I couldn't tell--

[She smiles quickly.] It is a long story.

Where are you?

[dothelokimotion]

[ he's missing something here. ]

I'm just outside the hotel.

[She's going to have to explain eventually, especially since the Storm is extra cruel to people like them. But for now she's just going to settle for hugging her friend.

Sorry, Loki. She's definitely crying at this point, but then again, she's so used to losing people, not getting them back.]

[ loki is a little taken aback, as he always is with certain shows of emotion. he did not doubt his tenuous connections in the fleet. they mattered and more importantly, they mattered to him. but he always thought, assumed, they would move on.

moving on from loki, after all, is what is rational, what is right. still, he's not that dense. his arms wrap around her, gentle. ]

[Well the answer to that one is CLEARLY easy. And provided by a guy that literally wasn't there a second ago. But surely Loki can handle a guy just arriving with a gust of wind, right?]

Still, I expected the remains of the Fleet to make something more of this place. The people are skilled enough.

[Interesting. So Loki was part of the fleet before. Tommy wants to ask so many questions, mostly about Vision. But he doesn't.]

Maybe the people they brought here aren't good for that. But they also haven't given us much to work with. AND there are storms that strip our powers and abilities away.
