I'm Amy, and I'm bringing in Alex Fierro, from the amazing Magnus Chase trilogy by Rick Riordan. Alex is technically dead, but because she died in valorous battle, she got to become on of the Einherjar (a word I am never going to remember how to spell) - one of Odin's chosen to be part of the battle of Ragnarok. Which someone fixes the dead thing. Meaning she can die again, and would really rather not, thank you very much.
Also, his mother is Loki. Yes, that Loki. God of mischief and root of pretty much all the problems in Alex's life. Then again, it did grant him sweet shapeshifting powers. Mostly into animals, which has been quite useful in the past.
As might be noticed from the shifting pronouns and parentage, Alex is genderfluid and shifts between male and female pronouns. Singular they is fine when referring to her when she's not there, but she's pretty clear on what her current pronouns and prefers those in conversation.
