FALL TDM (PSL is life but TDM is bae)
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Loki || MCU
Someone may have to fill me in: How long. How long has it been since the rebuilding of this realm has begun? Months? A little more than a year, perhaps?
[ Don't worry. He knows the answer. He has spent some time studying the network before addressing it. ]
I will admit that- I am not surprised that the aid of the Gods is now being sought.
[ And the camera now pulls back and away from its view over the city to finally show its owner, casually leaning against the remains windowsill at a hole within a wall that at some point contained an actual window.
He simply smiles. ]
I am Loki. Of Asgard. And it appears you require my help.

He responded, face a little unsure as he connected with the Network and with the man. ]
You sure know how to make an entrance...

I would be wounded if you expected anything less. Are you happy to see me, at least?

[ He gives the screen a mildly interested look. ]
Well then. Since you know who I am, I believe it would only be polite for you to introduce yourself in turn.

Pass. 8/10. The last Loki had a WAY cooler entrance. And we're full up on gods right now. But hey, if you leave a number we can contact you at, someone will get in touch with you later.
You don't even have the horns helmet do you? Not a Loki if there aren't horns.
[Brat? Yes. Yes he is.]

Mysterio | MCU
[A new arrival had appeared, much like the others. For some, his costume might have been familiar, if a little more majestic than what they're used to. His cape fluttered behind him as he pulled of the sunglasses he appeared in, eyeing them with a frown before noting that he wasn't alone.]
...Where are we?
Do you hear a storm?
[The storm had come in with little warning. Maybe that's how you'd gotten caught up in it. That or you'd wandered off after one of the apparitions. Either way, it was Mysterio who caught you by the wrist before you went plummeting down into the earth, hauling you back up with a relieved expression.]
You good? You're not going to go running after that again, are you? 'Cause I can't fly here, we've been over that.
Network
[Beck looks almost sheepish as the camera turns on, a calculated humanizing expression before he gives a more serious nod.]
I tried to do a bit a research so I don't bombard you all with the same questions, but before I start- am I right in understanding that more than a few people have had issues with their powers not working right in this place?
[ooc: I'll match the tense/style you respond in]
Network || audio
Most questions get answered by the data point anyway. So I suppose you found that one.
[ An unspoken 'Congratulations.' lingers after that sentence. ]
You are starting with a rather specific question. How about leading with something as basic as an introduction, instead?
[ You know. Basic politeness. ]
Network || audio
Ah- uh, Beck. Quentin Beck. I got a bit ahead of myself. I wasn't really focused on the introduction.

Yeah. Yeah, I am good. Sorry about that.
[ The apparition was gone now and so much the better. ]
Thanks for the save. That would have been a pretty embarrassing way to go, after everything...

I would not want to be the one to have to report Captain America died falling down some hole.
I apologize for Tommy. Always.
Never apologize
You want the answers in order or-? [He starts, arching a brow playfully, counting off on his fingers as he address them.]
I checked over previous posts on this network for answers when my own powers weren't working.
I got here a few hours ago- roughly- hard to judge time.
I don't know about you but when I'm kidnapped by aliens I want to know all the facts, and they've helpfully provided us with a whole network of information.
And I'm Beck. Quentin Beck.

Zack Fair | Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Okay but the thing of it is, the really important, down-to-the-nitty-gritty, is that Zack expected things to be a lot more, well, green. That's what happens, right? You die, you enter the Lifestream, and you do... well, whatever it is that you do when you're dead; having never died before, he's a little vague on that part. But he can say for sure that he hadn't expected to wake up laying in a strange bed, all bandaged up and wearing a uniform significantly less bloody and bullet-hole-ridden than he thinks it should be, and feeling a lot more in one piece than he thinks he should be.
He loses a little time then, he thinks, in the contemplation of where he is and why and how, blinking at an unfamiliar ceiling and pretty certain that he should be feeling the rain on his face instead. But no, it's most assuredly a ceiling, and he's kind of tired of looking at it, so he pushes himself up on an elbow, then onto his hands to sit up, then to staaa...
Whoops, okay, no, standing is a bad idea. Sitting. Sitting on the edge of the bed, feet on the floor, and trying to blink through the dizziness. He's pretty sure he hears someone about, too, and maybe he should have addressed that detail first? "Hello...?"
Network
Not that I mind the, uh, phone upgrade, but I'd really like to know what happened to my phone.
[He's got stuff on there he doesn't want to lose, okay!]
Figured I'd start small before asking what happened with the rest of, well, EVERYTHING.
Arrival
lootthings that might come in handy, some secret people might have missed. Ultimately, he's just trying not to be bored.Hearing the voice call out, uncertain as it sounds, has him backtrack to the door he'd swept by. He takes a few steps back and tilts to poke his head in.
"Hey..!" he decides to greet, since...well, why not?

this time with the right account
"You found a what?" the man associated with this doll asked aloud of his companion, and then he was turning the corner to look into the room, and Reeve Tuesti just stared in shock. Shock and confusion. Mako eyes. A soldier uniform. That hair. Was it even possible?
While he wasn't one of those who had known the young man when he'd been active, even his department had known who the first classes were, including one of the last promotions. And so he's left staring for just a moment too long, mouth hanging open.
"Soldier First Class Zack Fair. As I live and breathe, yours is a face I never thought to see in person."
Lauri-Ell | Marvel 616
There were many a different form of space ship, cruiser, and individual flier that Lauri-ell had been on in the course of her service. None of them were as... haphazard as this appeared to be. Upon awakening the woman had become to explore this new environment and part of that exploration had been finding this place, these ships. One had finally opened to her handprint (which was disturbing as how did they have that) and immediately the Kree woman had gone to explore.
Now she was in the cockpit, glaring at the consoles as they refused to respond to her manipulations.
"What use are you as a machine if you will not obey me and take off?" she hissed at the nearest panel, as if its lack of obedience was an affront to her. "This does not make sense. I have checked your engine systems, and they seem fully functional. I have input my desired coordinates, and you claim they are not possible. And I cannot even get you to take off. Have you no mind, you piece of machinery, or is it at odds with my will?"
The Greenhouse
Leave it to Lauri to, not even three hours into her tenure on this rock, find a greenhouse and make her way past the useful plants and right to the purely decorative ones. Yes, they were beautiful. Lauri-ell found herself sitting before a few, taking in their scents and playing with the petals.
"You are beautiful," she told the things, because they were absolutely such. Beyond beautiful, and so strange. They were not like anything she had seen on Earth, or affixed to a Cotati, or even on Kree occupied planets she had served on. "If I could, I would take some back for sharing with my sister. She would love you."
Communicator: Audio
Hello fellow captives of the unknown Agrii race. I am Lauri-Ell of the Kree, and I seek information as to why it is we are being held against our wills. I have business back among the Alliance and would like to return. My duties are not ones so easily neglected.
Any assistance you can render me would be assistance in the eyes of the Alliance and I would ask that the Emperor see you justly rewarded for your benevolence.

Space ships // don't look at me I don't go here
At the door, Tony stumbled blindly back away from the door, searching the ground then glancing into the rear of the ship toward the cargo bay or the sleeping quarters, frowning, then finally looking up toward the cockpit. He froze, staring, at this unfamiliar form taking up so much space in the ship, where he had not expected to find anyone whatsoever. Eventually, he greeted, "Do you have any fire?"

Hello Lauri-Ell. There are some of us here who are familiar with the Kree, myself included, as well as others who are not. To start with you should know that you're no longer in your own world, but in a different dimension altogether.
As for the Agrii...well, some things have come to light. Long story short, the Agrii aren't the ones keeping us here anymore. We're not sure who is at this point.

Proto Man | Mega Man Series
Up in the sky, ten stories high, a man stands above a city already destroyed. Okay, but it didn’t really look too destroyed and it was less a man and more a robot. Or some of a robot, because he’d seen far better days. A gray body suit, a rusted red helmet with sunglasses attached and oversized legs, an arm terminating with a large red blaster, the other in a hand but the arm almost falling apart. The only real thins that looked new wer the yellow scarf around its neck, streaming in the wind, and a large, gray and red shield on his back.
And the robot, man, whatever, looks down at the city of Temba and considers it. Broken, parts missing and aching for replacement, the heart of it (the people are always the heart) missing. It was frighteningly familiar.
“Like me, but in city form. Go figure. The question is what the hell I’m supposed to do about it.”
2. Storm
In a way, he should be grateful that Dr. Light never bothered to fix his power system. In a way he should be happy that his father failed him in a way worse than humanity had failed machines. Because, in the end, the nuclear core that powered him meant that he wasn’t hampered by the storm. Not like Rock would have been with his solar-powered core.
But grateful wasn’t really what he was down for right now. Not when he kept catching glimpses of Wily and his robots in the storm. There Gemini Man, leaping in his doubled form around, firing at him, and forcing Proto Man to duck behind a shield that never felt a single blow land against it. There, Top Man spinning up a wind so fast that it whipped around Proto Man and left him staggering.
And of course, there, Mega Man looking at him, blaster raised, firing a killing blow. Proto Man jumps out of the way, falling to the ground, dodging a blow that never came.
“What the actual hell is this!?”
3. Communications
I already know that the answer here is no, but I’m checking to see if anyone might have any spare metal plating. And a soldering iron. Maybe some replacement hydraulic pumps. Oh, and an extra hand.
[With only one, starting about the repairs he needs won’t be easy.]
