If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Hot Summer Time!

Summer has arrived and you know what that means: It's time to head out and spend some time at the beach, lounging on its bluish, almost purple sand, going for a swim or gathering some of the fat, green lobsters just wandering around the beach. They may be tasty, but remember that their pinch is toxic. It won’t kill you but it will definitely have the pinched body part swelling up and itching like a bad wool sweater.

If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.

Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.

Explore the city!

Here's a map and a bit more description of some of the buildings here.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.

If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

Visit the spaceships!

That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar - Or what remains of them. It's painfully obvious that these ships have crash-landed not too long ago and were taken back to the hangar for repairs. You were assigned to one of them and its doors will open for you and let you enter if you wish. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but as neither of them look as if they will be leaving anytime soon that doesn't really matter either way.

Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?

Try the network!

Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

There be storms...

These power-altering storms keep ravaging parts of the planet every once in a while. No one truly knows where they come from or what to do about them yet, but one of them appears to be approaching. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you rather feel drawn to investigate.

Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Wildcard!

You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking. Quite unlike a gathering of potentially dangerous creatures to encounter. The setting is yours to explore and have fun with!

"Ugh, not more fucking weird shit birds," Tommy rolled his eyes. "This place is overflowing with bird-like animals.

"I never learned back home. But the data point? It gives me that."

"They're not all that weird, once you you get used to them." But he blinked as he heard the report about bird like animals here. "Can't wait to see what they got."

His head cocked to the side at the last thing. "Data point?"

"Probably still weird," Tommy counters. Then he tilts his head and considers the fisher king. Strange man. The world's messed up, and Noct's just fishing.

"Yeah, because we don't know how to do stuff here. The things we need to do to survive? You can get data uploaded into your head."

"They're fun, you'd get used to 'em real quick." It was tough to resist chocobos, even the little kids loved them even if they couldn't ride them.

But this last part sounded weird to him. "Data upload? You don't just learn to do something?" Well this was a bit more convenient if confusing.

"I don't know, strikes me as a weird name," Tommy shruged. Yeah, he's against big birds that have minds of their own.

"I mean, you can. But the Agrii gave us this. A way to figure out how things work."

He wanted to say they were harmless, but they really weren't. Especially when they decided to help out in battle which always was a nice surprise in his own eyes.

The king shook his head. "Did it have something to do with that floating orb?"

"Absolutely. They're all floating orbs. Agriculture, Engineering, Piloting, Medical, Communications, and Security. All useful for their own reasons."

And who even knows whythey are the only ones. But it's pretty interesting to think about, right? You could learn all you needed from a single touch.

"So..those are the ones to touch that would do the download you were talking about, right?"

It was still an odd concept and he wondered if libraries or other people that could teach those kinds of things just didn't exist here. Ignis might be slightly horrified.

"Bingo, give the fisherman a prize," Tommy agreed, his eyes on the water.

Ignis might be more than slightly horrified here. But he'd also be busy, tasting things and determining new recipes. Better he not be kept so busy.

"I'm Tommy, by the way."

The king laughed a little. It wasn't easy sometimes to figure things out without someone to explain. Thinking of that made him miss Iggy but he turned his attention to the other man when he said his name with a nod.

"I'm Noctis, it's nice to meet you Tommy."

Normally the man wouldn't have given his name or would've done some variation as he'd done with that fisherman guy, giving him the name 'Noct-gar'. But here he wasn't worried about rogue Nifs or being in any real danger. He'd saved his world and made the ultimate sacrifice by giving his own life.

Well what a very strange name. Something about night maybe? Interesting. But Tommy could care less about meaning given it's all about just having a name to use.

"You fish a lot back home?"

The king nodded. "Every chance I got." Of course, there wasn't much chance after he got out of the crystalline sleep. That past time was pretty much gone because Ardyn had to be dealt with. And then of course the other thing he had to do which he did. But now that it was in the past, he was free to do as he wanted, but he had the feeling he was in for another bumpy ride to do things and help out here.

Maybe that's why he'd been called back and that thought tumbled in his head as his dark blue eyes looked at the water.

"Not sure how much time I'll have for it here though."

"You'll probably have plenty, if it's what you want to do. Puts food on tables," Tommy says. So he'd make a very strong case for it.

That had him turn to look back at Tommy and he shook his head slightly. "So..no one really fishes that's already here?"

"Yeah, and we don't have gear," Tommy answered. "Mostly there's some hunters, but we live on fruits and veg a lot."

Sorry Noct, no one here to deal with how picky you are.

Before he could ask more about gear, that one word struck him.

"Hunters?"

He of course was thinking of the ones back home whose tags he and the boys had looked for upon request. And for a moment it made him sad. He could only ever imagine the looks on the family's faces when those tags were returned to them. And he wasn't about to complain about the vegetables because Tommy mentioned fruits.

Somehow through being cooked for, he never did figure out somehow that beans were a vegetable.

"Yeah. To get meat and stuff. WHy, you do that? Because if so, we could use you. More meat for tables and all of that."

Not the first person to react to the word 'Hunter' but Tommy was more than glad to try and get someone to get the food anyway.

Was this his reason for being brought back? To help out here? Well Noctis wasn't ever one to say no. Memories of his youth ran through his head at doing all of those monster hunt quests, and the endless errands for the farmers at Lestallum in the market place. They'd collected gems for Dino, and they always did favours for Cindy when she needed help, even up to collecting batteries in the Crown City so that would help the folks in Lestallum when the long night had come. Plus, there was that errand of taking pictures for that one Glaive in Insomnia of the Kings of Yore's graves.

Made him wonder if they took one of his later on.

But he nodded when he thought it over. "Couldn't hurt to help out around here, right?"

"Never could," Tommy agreed, laughing. Then he stands a bit straighter. "If you want, I could show you around. Or are you really going to fish?"

Because he really had to figure that out, didn't he? Can he even catch anythign?

"Well I was going to fish." Noct replied, lifting a hand up to run it through his dark hair. He'd been trying to dismiss it, but it was just like being in the Keep and that one time he'd gotten off of the train where his powers had felt sealed. They weren't completely sealed, but he did notice the difference.

"But I guess I could do that later."

"I mean, if you could get one out now, I could show you to the diner for me to cook it up. When's the last time you ate, Fishy?"

Tommy considered the water. He supposed he could try and dive after something. But fuck that's a lot more energy.

The king had to actually stop and wonder when the last time he ate was. How long was he gone for? "Uh..might've been awhile. But give me a few minutes.." And then his voice trailed off as he caught the nickname Tommy gave him and he had to laugh a little. It was nice to be able to laugh again because there hadn't been much of that after he came back from his crystal sleep.

So he picked up his fishing pole and angled it into the water. The water wasn't too bad and Noct looked back at Tommy. "What kind of food do you guys have here?"

"Mostly stuff made from native foods. I used to run the diner, and you should be glad to hear I don't anymore. I just gather supplies these days. But frying up a fish? That much I can do."

It's a matter of cutting the thing and then grilling it. That's simple, right?

Noctis laughed a little at hearing Tommy used to run the diner. With his idea of blowing things up, it was definitely a good idea that the kid had decided to not run the diner anymore.

"Well gathering supplies for it is important." Because he used to gather supplies and ingredients for his chef back home too. But if Tommy could fry it, then the king wouldn't mind trying to help.

So he turned back to the water and focused on trying to see if he could get a bite on his line.

Hey, he hadn't decided not to run the diner. It was more that other people better suited to it had arrived. And he had been happy to pass that place over. Sure, he supported it. He swore to Eli that he'd do that for him.

"How long does this normally take?"
