SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Hot Summer Time!
If hunting for food isn't what you came here for, then sunbathing is always an option. Even if the color seems odd, this sand, also, likes to go literally everywhere.
Simply hopping into the water is also rarely a bad idea. This close to the coast there are no harmful creatures in the water, so whether you brought a swim suit, hop in fully clothed or have no care in the world about who might stumble over you naked, Agra 10's ocean is yours to play in.
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Sam Wilson | MCU
1a
Sam stretches his hands up over his head, unkinking first his left shoulder, then his right. He groans as he reaches down again to rub at his lower back. It's been a long-ass, confusing day, and he's going to relax in this sun on this weird sand if it kills him.
He flops back into the sand, hands pillowing his head, convinced he's too tense to actually really relax. He promptly goes to sleep. Feel free to wake him up. Or draw on his face, or whatever.
1b
When he wakes up, it's to the kinda tickly feeling of something crawling up his chest. The hour or so doze he just had is enough to put him to 'blearily comfy' but not enough to actually send him through tiredness and out the other side yet, so he still wants to snooze some more.
But it's like when you need to pee, and it's not that bad, so you could maybe sleep some more, but you still do need to pee, so mayyyyyyyybe you oughtta get up? Not that this is a 'need to pee' sensation, exactly. He sighs, opening his eyes, and scares the hell out of a bright green lobster perched on his chest. It flaps its claws around and nips the end of his nose.
2. Spaceships
"Starduck, eh?" he says to himself, squeezing his way into the ship. The doors are a little clunky. He wonders for a moment if it's like Star Trek and there are people just out of view furiously yanking on ropes to make 'em work.
It's not tech he's familiar with, but he knows enough about tech to make a couple cautious assumptions about how to bring up a map of the interior. He presses a button.
3. Wildcard
Throw anything at him! Or pm me to plot. Cheers.
Spaceships
"Do you know how to work this thing? It's something straight outta Jules Verne, right? I wonder if it really does get into space."
no subject
The smile drops and his eyes go very, very wide.
"I think it probably - Steve?"
no subject
"Uh. Yeah. I'm Steve. Do we know each other? I'm sorry but I can't recall your name...?"
no subject
Sam passes a hand over his face, but the guy in front of him refuses to a) disappear or b) go big or c) turn into some kind of hallucinogenic mushroom, so probably it's not because of something Sam ate. He shakes his head, rallying, and finds his smile again.
"I'm Sam. I do know you, yeah. But... you're aware of time travel, right?"
no subject
He looks the man over, trying to figure out when he might be from and how he would know Steve at that point.
"So I guess we're friends... In the future? My future?"

"Are you trying to die?"
no subject
"No more than usual," he protests, yawning his way upright. He brushes his hands off against his ass. "Why, what's your problem? - This time?"
no subject
"This time. Oh I see. So I should just leave you out here next time," he teases, bumping his shoulder against Sam's, "What are you doing all the way out here?"
are people still worried about TFATWS spoilers? be warned, just in case~~
Sam laughs, bumping back. "Got dumped here, felt up that rock, came out here for a nap. Not much more to it, I think. How about you?"
He goes briefly serious, rubbing a hand over his face. "Not that I'm not worried about what's going on back home. Especially if you're not there, either. But hey. It's genuinely good to see you, man."
He tugs Bucky into a brief, but heartfelt, hug.
no subject
"Less naps you know-" he offers, shrugging a shoulder, trying to play it off.
He softens though, at that serious look, and feels himself really relax a little for the first time in a long while as he returns the hug.
"It's good to see you too, Sam."
(no subject)
Bucky muse is dead @ being called a good hugger :)
mwahhhhh xD

Too bad he hadn't noticed the dude or lobster until after it had happened. WIth a sigh he walked over, going a normal human pace to not kick up sand. When he reached the man's side his hand flashed out with in human speed, with Pietro Maximoff sorts of speed to snatch up the creature and yeet it toward the water.
"Come on, get up. I've got cream for your nose, because that's gonna swell, but we're gonna have to make the tea now and that I don't bring with me."
no subject
"This happens often, I take it?" he says nasally. "Thanks, man. Wait, tea?"
no subject
"Often enough with people who haven't read the dictionary entries. But most people haven't. Here."
He offers over the cream and nods.
"Tea from native plants. Tastes like crap, but it's a thing. Helps with the reaction. After that we'll get you some food. Maybe some fried lobster as revenge?"
no subject
"I'll be more careful, I promise," Sam says with a laugh. It's starting to get real painful now, and isn't that weird. When he's in the middle of a fight, adrenaline means he can ignore most of the signals from his body and just freaking deal, focus on avoiding the next hit, landing the next kick. Not being in a fight means that he's the wussiest, most annoying little asshole wincing at a big nose.
He takes the cream, and rubs it into the swollen skin very gingerly. After a moment, he exhales.
"I like the way you think," he says. He's enjoying the warmth of the sun over his shoulder, but he's feeling hungry. "Thanks for the help, guy. I'm Sam."
no subject
Sam, huh? He's met a Sam before. Small world that.
"Tommy. Can you handle going fast?"

When it pinched him, she smirked and reached out to unclamp the claw from his nose.
"Morning, fly boy."
no subject
"Ow," he remarked, cupping his nose which was already beginning to swell. "Crap. Damn. Ow!"
...wait. He turned, staring at the owner of that very, very familiar voice.
no subject
Reaching out, she offered Sam a hand up. "c'mon, we should be able to scare up some ice for that nose of yours."
no subject
Breathe, moron.
She pulled him to his feet easily, in spite of the height difference. Sam said, "Ah. Uh. Can I... just do one thing first?"
And he opened his arms awkwardly, making a please let me hug you face.
no subject
She nodded, stepping into his embrace and wrapping her arms around his waist. "Hey, Sam."

Do you need me to avoid Black Widow spoilers? <3
please don't avoid on my behalf! <3
Woot because ILU and Sam and all of this.
Spaceship!
A curious kidlet peeks through the door. Oh someone new! His ears raise and he makes a happy noise as he waves at the new person.
no subject
"Hi!"
A kid? A new kind of dog? Sam waves back. "How're you doing?"
no subject
Grogu steps through the door, smiling and tilting his head. He's doing alright. Happy to see a new face, even if it's a very confused looking one. Walking closer, he looks down at the panel before looking back up at Sam. What are you trying to do?
no subject
Okay, probably not a dog. Not with that kind of smile. Sam watches with fascination, smiling back.
A kid? A small adult? Can he (?) understand what Sam says? Sam's used to people with different communication abilities and needs, anyways, so he'll cope. "Trying to find a map," he says. "How about you? There anything I can help you with?"
