WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME

WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Cobb Vanth | The Mandalorian
This was not any city on Tatooine. Cobb could tell that much given the distinct lack of sand everywhere and the color green among the rubble. It looked like a place the Empire had blown up. Having never been off planet in his life Cobb was a little uneasy as he walked around, looking for someone to ask where the stars he had ended up.
And then he stopped short.
In the distance was more water than he had ever seen in his entire life. More water than he had ever imagined. Logically he knew there were planets out there that were entirely water but his planet was entirely sand and water was pulled out of the air. It was never, ever this much.
He took a tentative step towards it and stopped again, simply staring at it.
B. Network
[ This technology is at least a little familiar. Not that Cobb's ever had a communicator of his own but hey, it works like a holovid, right? Those are simple enough.
Cobb's expression is a little tense and he sounds annoyed when he speaks. ]
Well, hello there. If anyone can tell me what's going on I'd sure appreciate a heads up.
C. Wildcard.
[ Insert flavor of choice here. ]
B!
What. Are you trying to tell me you failed to read the script?
no subject
[ His response is as dry as the Dune Sea. And it's hard to tell if he's kidding or not. ]
That doesn't really answer my question either.
Maybe should have mentioned that I'm an odd-timezone-person
[ And Loki will gladly ignore the complaint. ]
No worries. I'm chill about these things. Tag when you can.
[ It seems Cobb has reached an asshole. Just his luck. ]
Maybe you just don't know anything? I mean, besides the reading of course.
<3
Maybe I don't.
Maybe I know everything and just do not feel like sharing. You have not read the script, after all.
no subject
[ Here's a resigned sigh and an annoyed look. ]
Just bored and felt like messing with someone?
no subject
And since you asked so nicely: Near where you woke up is a data point. Touch it and it tells you everything you need to know.
[ Don't even need any reading abilities. ]
no subject
That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. But thank you for finally being helpful.

A - Howdy!
"Wouldn't recommend it. Don't know what sort of things're swimming in there- much less how big." The Hunter capped it off with a chuckle, setting his gloved hands at his hips as he watched the sparkling waters beyond. He was dressed in the typical manner of any Hunters back home, leathers and light armor where it counted, the worn hood over his head attached to the tattered remnants of a cloak that looked more like it would be categorized as a scarf for how thin it was.
It was the Hunter's face that would throw off a person expecting flesh and blood, his metal features somehow expressive despite the limited movement, his optics glowing a bright blue, and every time he spoke, the back of his throat lit up in amber.
hello!
"Can't swim," he answered after giving the droid a once over. "Just taking it in. It's a lot of water."
And there was a distinct note of longing in his voice when he said it. Of course that much water was dangerous. It was probably unfit to drink as well. Just his luck.
"So, stranger, you wanna tell me where I am exactly?" Because Cobb was still unsure on that part. "Pretty sure I'm lost."
no subject
"Never seen an ocean before, eh?" Seemed like a fair guess, and not terribly unusual considering the different worlds out there. "At least there's land here. Back where I'm from there's an entire moon that's just ocean. Gotta take extra care getting around there when all there is to stand on are rusting platforms and rigs."
He waved a hand. That was neither here nor now. "This here's the city of Temba, or what's left of it. We're on a world called Agra Ten, home to the Agrii- whom by the way you won't find any of planetside. Part of the reason we're here." The Exo shrugged, yet managed to give a smirk. "We're all pretty lost considering most of us have no idea what system or universe or what-have-you we're in."
no subject
He turned away from the water and looked around the crumbling city. None of the names were familiar to him but he didn't know a lot of star maps. It was troubling but he focused on the here and now. The rest he could worry about on his own time.
"Cobb Vanth," he said as he offered a hand. "Marshal of Mos Pelgo, though I guess that's on hold for the moment."
There were other people here. He could take a little comfort in that. While he could survive on his own, it would be easier with people to take up with.
no subject
The Exo turned to face the man, giving a better glimpse of the over-sized pistol holstered at his right as he brought up his hand in turn to shake the one offered him. His movements were on par with anything organic, more fluid than one would expect of droids. "Cayde, Hunter Vanguard of the Last City- but like you said. No point in titles around here." He grinned.
no subject
Odd name for a droid though. Even one as advanced as Cayde. He seemed very human which was different.
"I think I've seen enough. It's not going anywhere." Cobb paused for a moment. "Is it?"
Could that much water just vanish? He hoped not. "Is there a bar around here that takes galactic credits? I'll buy a drink and ask you more questions about this place."
no subject
His expression brightened then, both in the literal and figurative sense. "Why there does happen to be a bar in town. Just opened a while back, owner's a great guy, handsome to boot."
He spun about and gestured back towards the city proper. "This way, my friend."
no subject
"Yeah? Well I guess this place is civilized after all." Because clearly the mark of civilization is a bar. "Don't suppose this place has spotchka?"
The alcohol was common on Tatooine but this place, who knew? Cobb wanted something a little bit familiar just to settle his nerves a little bit. Cobb fell into step with Cayde, still looking around to get a general layout of the city.

A - Howdy partner
New person? He changes his direction to head for the new guy. But then recognition starts dawning once he get close enough, helmet tilting.
"Vanth? When did you get here?" Wow, it's been months since he saw the man.
Howdy!
He walked towards the man, hand held out to shake. It had been awhile since they saw each other but the Mandalorian looked the same as ever. It was very reassuring to see him.
"Pretty sure it's been a Tatooine day?" Cobb wasn't entirely sure though. He had been a little panicky when he found himself in this strange place. "Where are we? And what the stars is going on?"
no subject
"So not long then." He shifts his weight to one leg, and sighs softly. "This is Agra-10. I'd say welcome, but..." He motions to the crumbling city around them. "There's an alien species that brought us here. Call themselves the Agrii."
no subject
"This isn't how I imagined getting off planet," he said as he hook a thumb in his belt and his other hand hung down by his blaster. There weren't any obvious threats here but Cobb felt comfortable enough with Mando to show he was unsettled.
"And I'm guessing since you're still here there's no easy way back home?" He didn't think anyone could hold Mando against his will unless they made it very, very difficult.
no subject
"If I could leave. Me and the kid would be gone." They had his quest to finish, and were possibly headed for the end of it. "There's a hangar with ships. Although at the moment they're grounded." He let's out a bit of a frustrated sigh. "Other than that? No way to leave."
no subject
This seemed to be his life for the foreseeable future though. Cobb wasn't exactly happy about that. He'd worry about Mos Pelgo while here.
"As nice as it is to see you this isn't exactly how I'd hope it would go," he said with a tight smile.
no subject
Still, Din's not completely happy about being stuck here. He'd rather be back on his own world. He had a quest to finish after all, even if they sorta did here.
"Same. Figured I'd see you on Tatooine." His helmet tilts. It really is good to see the space cowboy again. He'd wantedtosee his friend again, but not like this. "Wish it was under a better situation." He sighs, helmet tilting down for a moment, before raising again. "How about I show you around." He straightened up, motioning to the city.
no subject
He nodded and gestured for Mando to keep leading the way. "Yeah, I'd appreciate a tour around the place. Seems big enough to get lost in if you're not careful."
And there was so much water. Cobb would need a lot of time to process that part of this place.
