FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Now Temba has decidedly fewer trees than Sh'Ka. And while still numerous in both cities, Temba's trees are also much smaller and may not necessarily of the same species. The leaves in Temba fall gently. The leaves in Sh'Ka, however? They turn to stone while still attached to their branches and suddenly fall to the floor from high, high up above.
Thud.
They shatter once they hit the ground, which may explain why you haven't really seen any leaf-shaped rocks around. You still may want to try and avoid getting hit too much by this slowly increasing hail of stone leaves.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
The two currently crewless ships are open for anyone to step inside and have a look around, maybe even use for a nap.
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Hendrik | Dragonquest XI S
Hendrik is sitting at the bar near one of the windows in which the fish can be seen. He'd had company earlier, but they've since departed so now he is sitting alone. In front of him are three different drinks and he is pondering which one to have. The first is a Gingerbread latte complete with gingerbread men. The second is a white hot chocolate and the third is a pumpkin latte. These are not familiar drinks to him, although he is aware they are hot.
When someone approaches, he will briefly glance up with a nod. Should they sit with him, the knight will continue to ponder the drinks in front of him. "I do not know which concoction to try. I have not the sweet tooth that my oldest friend had."
Oh my gourd - (Or Fall in Temba)
The knight has been helping to bring in some of the vegetables for harvest. He even does some of the heavier lifting and doesn't mind helping at all. And even if these people aren't weak he will still serve them untiringly as is in the Knight's Pledge. As more of the harvest is cleared away which mainly consists of pumpkins more progress is made.
Every now and then he holds one up in his hand to gaze at it, recalling to mind stories from Erik and the Luminary that they have gone around smashing the things in people's houses. Of course, that was them talking amongst themselves about it and he happened to over hear it.
Coming upon a large thick cluster of vines now, Hendrik reaches out a gloved hand and starts clearing it. And hidden back among the growth is a huge pumpkin.
For a moment Hendrik just blinks at it before speaking. "By the skies, how many here could this one pumpkin feed? Surely no one here would go hungry with a bounty such as this."
Fond of Funfronds -
Hendrik is out foraging for food, and happens to wander around in the right place for what he believes are mushrooms growing near some white flowers. He has survived on them before, so now is his chance to get some to cook for dinner. The knight didn't plan to get a lot of them so he didn't have supplies, as just a few pocketful's would suffice for now until he can get a proper bag.
But as he leans down he blinks a few times and turns to his companion to make sure they are seeing the same thing. With a little bit of sunlight, there appears to be a mother and child who stop and look back at who is looking at them without any fear. Blinking again, the knight speaks in a low tone, turning back to something he can't believe even though he'd seen some pretty unbelievable sights as an oath sworn companion to the Luminary. "I do not believe I may eat mushrooms ever again after seeing this."
Funfronds
"That's your loss. We've got some in the greenhouse that taste like bacon."
no subject
"So you cultivate living mushrooms such as these in a greenhouse?"
no subject
So not these ones. Things that are very different.
"Apparently these things are sentient. Not polite to eat things that are sentient."
no subject
Since he didn't have any gold on him (and he did wonder where it all seemed to have gone) to purchase food, mushrooms had been on his to get list, until he'd come across the sight he had.
And then there was a nod as he glanced back at the retreating small forms of life and then back to his companion. "Indeed. I would not have the stomach to do as such."

oh my gourd
The voice comes from only a few feet behind Hendrik (how long has he been lurking back there?), sharp tone accompanied by equally urgent footsteps shuffling through the undergrowth of the pumpkin patch. Dustin makes it to the side of the offending squash moments later. The teenager's wary eyes flickering between it and Hendrik - a man he doesn't recognize, therefore a potential threat - say that his thoughts are far away from feasting on this prize.
"No one's eating this until I get some measurements," he declares. That means you, stranger.
no subject
But what the boy said had him intrigued.
"So you mean to measure this and then somehow transport it to the general populace?"
Did this kid have a plan?
no subject
He doesn't glance at Hendrik when he starts asking follow-up questions. "Did you pick any other pumpkins before coming across this one?"
no subject
"Nay I did not." the knight replied. "I was helping others who were harvesting them, but I did not personally pick them. I merely carried them to assist."
He wasn't about to stand around and watch ladies try and do the work that he could do for them.

Daniel Dìaz | Life is Strange 2
"Huh?!"
Daniel could swear he was in a car with Jacob just a second ago, and now he's in...What even is this place?
"Jake?"
He calls out reluctantly. He doesn't actually think he's gonna respond, but what other choice does he have? He keeps walking about the hangar, and instinctively calls for his big brother.
"...Sean?"
It doesn't occur to him where he is until he sees a pilot sitting down and just about to get to work.
"WOOOOOOOOAAAAAHHH! IS THAT A SPACESHIP?! NO FUCKING WAY! CAN I PUSH THE BUTTONS?! OR JUST ONE BUTTON, PLEASE? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!"
And there you have it, the moment of peace is broken by an overexcited nine years old child. Good luck!
no subject
"I don't know if that's a good idea. I don't know what any of these do."
no subject
"Ah...Okay. Can you make it fly? I can, I have telekinesis. Check this out!"
Not so wisely, he proceeds to lift a cup from the cup holder using his power, without making sure who this person he's speaking to is and what his intentions are. If he didn't accept Finn's plan that involved his powers, maybe he and Sean wouldn't be separated. Hell, he is not even sure if Sean is alive at all!
He lets the cup fall onto the floor, now he looks and sounds sad.
"So yeah...Pretty cool." Daniel is quite the mood swinger in general "I'm Daniel. What's your name?"
no subject
"That's, uh..."
Yeah, that's not what he had expected.
"That's pretty cool," he decides to agree. And you can call me North."
no subject
He shrugs.
"Well, uh, nice to meet you. So are you a pilot?"

Markus | Detroit: Become Human
Markus is a bit taken aback when he finds himself in this completely new place. It's not worse than the landfill, where he replaced the broken pieces of himself with functioning ones from other androids.
Looking around and scanning the environment, he formulates a few hypotheses on how long ago this place was abandoned and why, but they don't really matter, do they?
Somewhat aimlessly, he chooses to preconstruct a path through the towers, so after computing he executes it successfully with no damage.
Entering through a window, he notices that someone is inside. He's not sure what to say, so he raises both his hands to show he's harmless.
"My name is Markus. I come in peace."
no subject
He hears someone coming up and into the open window. He doesn't turn, intending to ignore whoever the hell it was in the hopes they'd leave.
Instead he hears a voice. A familiar one, for him at least and turns around sharp. Bright teal eyes find Markus. Markus.
He gets to his feet, his NYC hoodie rumpled around his body and temporarily cloaking his Stark Tech LED. "It's you," he almost whispers.
no subject
"I'm sorry, have we met before?" he sends telepathically, just in case he needs to take more time to think on what he can say to a human.
There was quite a large amount of androids in Jericho. Well, before Connor's intervention at least. So even if he knew for certain that this was an android he wouldn't necessarily recognize him.
no subject
He takes Markus' silence as being stunned. Maybe Markus knew him at a different point or something where they're from. "I never expected to see another android here, been almost a whole fucking year with stupid humans-" And he has to stop before he goes into one of his little anti-human rants.
"Anyways. Uh. Of all the androids they'd send here, didn't think they'd send our leader here of all people. Maybe one of the Jerries, but not you." He holds out his hand this time for a shake, but the skin melts back. A similar design like an android, though there's a ring that glows yellow.
[ooc: if markus grasps york's hand, he will be authorized to link with york, giving markus the information 'york stark; y25']
no subject
"I was in Detroit just a minute ago, I don't know what you're talking about."
He's about to graps York's hand, but he's reluctant.
"Who is 'they'? Who do you think sent me here?"

I am sorry about this...
"Piikaaa." He growls threateningly, red cheeks sparking ominously with electricity. However, at the mention that Markus comes in peace, the growling and sparking stops but he's still watching him closely, clearly guarding the young human behind him.
"Pikachu, what's wrong?" Comes the sleepy voice of the boy as he blearily looks around. His eyes widen when he realizes he has company. "Whoa, who are you?"
no subject
"Hi. My name is Markus. I just got here, I think I might have been...Teleported, or something. The city outside looks abandoned, do you know what is going on?"
He's an AI so it's not that hard to believe he can be teleported from one host body to another. Why is his body, his unmistakably unique model, still here then? That's a mystery.
no subject
Pikachu watches Markus carefully but retreats back to hop into the boy's empty lap once he's sure he and Ash aren't in any danger. Can never be too careful.
"To tell the truth, we're still kinda new too-but we'll figure it out what we need to so as long as we keep going. I'm Ash." He introduces.
"Pika, Pikachu." The yellow creature raises a paw in greeting.
